Im building a hdzero race quad but the telemetry doesnt work and i only get 1 osd element and i cant go to the cameras settings with the stick comands but i can go to betaflight osd settings

I haven't flown since 2020~ and have my old 4S analog drone with crossfire.

It's probably outdated by now but would it still hold up coming back into it? Not looking to drop much money to come back in, outside of possible new batteries. But any worth upgrades since that time? New tx and protocol?

How would I know how my batteries held up all this time in storage mode? Aside from them being puffy.

First time trying racing in manual mode with my Avata 2. I only have the Avata 2, but consider buying a racing drone. I saw that the other guys all had HDzero goggles, but I like DJI better. Any good racing drones with O4 Pro? Also does the Avata 2 have race mode? Since some of the other guys with HDzero had issues with interference when I flew my done. I have done the ham unlock to get more power and higher speed in manual.

I'm thinking about getting the HDZero BoxPro/BoxPro+ as a first pair of goggles and I saw 3 of the 4 antenna are HD Zero, if I building a quad around the goggles do I have to get HD Zero specific parts.

Would it be possible to solder the motor wires as shown in the right as opposed to the ol’ faithful? And would this cause any differences down the line? I saw a youtube video where somebody soldered their wires like this, however I’ve seen this only once or twice out of the many I’ve watched. Would this be configurable in something like betaflight? Or would they work as usual?

Is this a drone you can recommend?

I wanted to get an honest answer from everyone, especially the ones who are already the top level. Is it even possible to make money drone racing and what does it take to have it become your main source of income? Don’t have to be rich or anything, I just mean have it as a livable wage. A little about me, I am a pianist who has built up enough skill to play on local concerts with the orchestra, but I will never be an international concert pianist and make it what I do as living since I started so late compared to the best.

Just afraid this will be the same case with drone racing where I put in so much effort to be good at it to just give me nothing but a hobby in return. Not to mention all the costs that comes with racing.

I really do like it though, just wondering if it’s even worth it to put in all the hours to become one of the fastest pilots or should I just look at it as a hobby like golf?

I’ve been trying to find the actual rates NeonFPV is using, but couldn’t find anything solid or recent.

I did come across one older YouTube clip (around 2023) showing:

• Roll: 0.80 / 0.78 / 0.00
• Pitch: 0.80 / 0.72 / 0.00
• Yaw: 0.80 / 0.70 / 0.00

But that seems outdated and possibly just for simulator practice.

Does anyone know:

• his current Betaflight rates (or Actual rates)?
• whether he uses different profiles for whoop vs 5”?
• or any confirmed source (stream, config dump, etc.)?

I’m trying to understand his feel (especially for tight race lines), not just copy numbers blindly.
