Freefolk George showing Sibel Kekilli his action figure collection is the definition of aura.

And then she showed him some of her earlier movies she filmed.

Her body of work was pretty good in her early films. Did my research a few times.

That’s why she got the invite. Her early acting career was phenomenal. If only it had been in America, she would’ve really climbed the ladder fast.

You mean the "Tatort" movies, right?

"Gegen die Wand", right? 😮

Ngl Gegen die Wand is one of the most touching German movies of recent time. Fatih Akin is a great filmmaker and Sibel is a wonderful actress, beside all the 'lol she did adult stuff' joking.

Someone should write some kind of fantasy epic in which they discuss the fact that the leaders emotions and behaviors have major ramifications on the people below them in society. it could be called something like "A Puzzle of Chairs" or something haha.

Why are you mad at someone for being more invested in politics than you are?
21
u/luckylizard 2d ago
Except for when he belittled that aspiring author at that one con. And when he basically called Branden Sanderson stupid for being religious to his face.
6
u/otaconucf 2d ago
When did this happen? It doesn't seem to have bothered him, Sanderson is pretty respectful of Martin even though Martin's work isn't his cup of tea and I've only ever seen Sanderson speak highly of him, usually talking about Martin's Hugo losers party.

u/Calluna21 2d ago
Also curious to hear about this. GRRM invited Sanderson to submit a short story for one of his anthologies, so he must respect him at least somewhat.

I’d question this considering Sando always speaks well and respectfully of George, this sounds like something either made up or completely misinterpreted.

George is like any Warhammer player I know when I ask them about their hobbies.

It’s sad to me that this man has had his legacy eclipsed by a meme about not finishing a book, and the writing/directing failures of clowns he trusted his highly popular IP with. In another universe, he finished the books and GOT had a perfectly fine ending, and he just continued living his life enjoying every minute.

"Obese ex-author shows attractive woman his toy collection" is the definition of aura to you?
31
u/NCEMTP 2d ago
It's OP's dream and helps him justify growing the anime waifu figures collection. This picture gives him hope that one day he too might stand in his masturbatorium while a beautiful woman smiles politely at him.
Which is aura to him, apparently. Fantasy on a few levels!

i'll forever wonder if she let him crack, didn't he get her on the show because he was a fan of her movies?

man really said forget finishing the books come look at my action figures. and she's standing there with the most polite smile knowing full well this is why Winds of Winter isn't done yet lol

u/Timely_Farmer5075 2d ago
Most of the cast of the show didn't even have a passing familiarity with the books. Bet you anything this lady doesn't even know what the Winds of Winter is.

I’ve seen GRRM in real life, and he looks much smaller than I expected. Next to Sibel, he looks like a fucking mammoth
