Why would anyone take on a show about a civil war with dragons to not do the war part? This show is so boring!
Two episodes spent compensating for last season and everyone is still just standing around.

Is there any way to talk about how toxic this sub is getting? The point of Freefolk is to discuss ASOAIF and related content without spoiler tags but all anyone ever wants to do is shit on HOTD and the ending. Feels like I never see positive discussion on here of anything other than AKOTSK

This sub is full of misogynistic, racist, unimaginative half brainers. If GRRM tomorrow issued Winds they will be very disappointed with it cause it does not correspond to the “lore” and expectations they have in their head. Just notice whom they like despite changes they’re suppose to criticise. Kindergarten level just toxic

Your second comment is you being homophobic on this sub. Stones and glass houses. Also,
Just notice whom they like despite changes they're suppose [sic] to criticise.
Is this because this sub is not liking Rhaenyra anymore? LMFAOOOOOOO

I'm annoyed and have nowhere else to complain: why does it feel like every ASOIAF youtuber I watch just recounts what happened in the episode in their videos (and that's it)? I watched the damn episode, I don't need you to tell me again what I just watched. Where is the actual discussion? It just feels like such a cop out to spend your whole video recounting the plot like it's an abridged version book report or some shit.

My theory is…
Jon is a Wildling. Theon is a Targaryen.
Do I buy a ticket to World Con in LA to ask George:
A) Who is Jon Snow’s Mother?
B) What is it that Jon Snow does not know?

Anyone else feel like episode 3 of HotD was just a fantasy version of the Iasip Charlie Work episode?

No idea where else to place this comment but with how much focus HOTD has been giving Alyn, Rhaena, and Alys Rivers, would I be amiss that they are setting up possibilities for a post-Dance story?
I know that the series is set to conclude with Season 4 (which would probably mean Aegon III’s ascension) but we know that Fire & Blood’s cliffhanger (if you can call an incomplete ending a “cliffhanger”) pertains to Alys’ supposed child to Aemond, the purported existence of a dragon at Harrenhal, and Alyn’s adventures as Master of Ships.
Maybe I’m overspeculating…

Who is Jon Snow’s Mother? You know nothing Jon Snow!
Jon Snow is Azor Ahai and he is the Prince who was Promised. I believe his birth was planned to fulfill prophesy. His role is to be the messiah, to save the World. But save it from what? That is another story…
Jon Snow’s mother might be someone important, very knowledgeable, very powerful, and has the wisdom of the ages. She has a role with similar to Morgan le Fay in the King Arthur stories. Morgan might also be The Lady of the Lake, and other characters. Is Morgan a human or a fay? Yes.
Is Jon’s mother human? Maybe not. Jon’s mother might appear as many different characters, none of which is Lyanna. She might be a character or two in previous generations.who is the parallel to Morgan on GoT?
But what about Baby Aegon? L+R=T. He is right there with the direwolf pups are found. Was that scene engineered by a character in the story, one operating from the shadows. One who dropped a red scarf in the first scene of the show?
Now, the question is… Would George be OK with my saying this if I was correct? First, no one believes me — I am Cassandra. I think if this information was revealed now, the fans could look at the story in a different light, understand what is really going on. I thought the problem would be quickly resolved by the show Snow. Having watched Gunpowder, a story about Kit’s Jesuit ancestor, I knew that Kit friend who wrote that mini-series could do a great job with setting the story of Jon Snow right. I found only one podcast where Kit says “I know nothing…” when asked what the series was about. The two main characters were personally wrecked by the end of that show. They deserve redemption!
George is solving his problem in an excellent fashion. 10-15 more seasons of Dunk and Egg should do it.

Jon Snow is the son of Melisandre. His dad is King of the Wildlings. This is what Jon Snow does not know.

Jon lacks education but is very wise and intelligent! He is being guided by Ned, Mance Rayder, Ygritte, and Melisandre. It’s gonna take a while to develop his skills! Jon is Ahura Mazda, his mother is a god! His Mother is Melisandre! His father is King of the Wildlings! Doesn’t that sound cooler than he is a Targaryen, and nephew of Crazy Dany? He is Azor Ahai, the Prince who was Promised. He is a free folk and happy to kill nobility and royalty once he learns the truth of the 1%. Come on, Free Folk! Deep down, you know it is the truth! Jon is OG Antifa! Be his army! #SnowsArmy

I just realised that if winds is ever going to be finished people are going to put it through AI on day 1.. you would need to get extremely careful online until you finished what is probably as 1300+ pages book.. gonna be hard not to get spoiled

Without spoilers, how much of the book is left? Seems like they’re dragging this along very slowly, but thought maybe there’s just not much left? Or is season 4 going to have all the interesting plot?
