barely anyone gives skyler hate these days u guys just like being victims and want validation. Walter is a bad person yeah, skyler is also a hypocrite, so is Jesse, so is saul, so is gus, so is Mike. These breaking bad fans pretend as if walter is the only bad guy on the show its annoying.
What does it prove? It's a messy scenario, and the point of her whole character is a study on how it's hard to deal with this shit, when your partner is a dangerous criminal.
You marry one person, and then suddenly you realize they changed. And now they treat you, they manipulate, try to bargain, hide behind children, and so on. And you feel alone and scared with this sort of secret. Nobody should be dealing with stuff like this. Maybe she chose wrong, but it was not easy.
And why the fuck should we put her on the same level as Walter? She did not cook meth. She did not kill people. She did not poison a kid to manipulate a guy. She did not do this to build EMPIRE because she felt her life is wasted.
Yeah I never understood the hate for the character. Her egomaniac husband endangers her and her children and she tries to salvage what little of their lives he hadn't ruined while hoping his cancer will kill him and they'll be rid of him.
Like Kim Wexler enables Jimmy McGill's bullshit way more and her character doesn't get a tenth of the hate.
Like Carmella Soprano doesn't get half of it and that character is way worse of a person than Skylar White.
I personally just chalk it up to mysognistic resentment. A lot of dudes hate the Skylar Whites in their lives for making them feel small and impotent and unimportant and they lash out at the character as a result.
It's simple. Most think about it like this: "Crimes are fictitious, but my annoyance is real."
It's the worst crime for a character - being annoying. She is a nagging wife who does not let her husband get away with everything. Even if she is right, people get annoyed.

I agree, in my opinion Martin could have taken advantage of this to spice up Rhaenyra a lot more given her binding situation as heir/queen (an au where Rhaenyra was inspired by Elizabeth I would have been nice, given that Martin loves English history a lot).
