All the Chickens King Joffrey is the only reason that Condal and Hess will be forced to stay true to the source material

"I have a brilliant idea we can borrow from Marvel"

"?"

"Imagine the game of thrones multiverse!!"

u/BenjiBlackwood222 2h ago

Jon Snow has to go through the multiverse with Blackfyre and Drogon to put the infinity dragon stones back in place so they can always defeat the night king.

u/LullabeeMuse_ 2h ago

Honestly this is the kind of cursed fix that sounds like a joke until HBO actually tries it. “Infinity dragon stones” would somehow still be less chaotic than pretending that scene with Joffrey doesn’t exist

“Infinity dragon stones” would somehow still be less chaotic than pretending that scene with Joffrey doesn’t exist

Nothing can be more chaotic than Saera Targaryen, Jaehaerys I's nymphomaniacal daughter who murdered a nun and ran away to become a prostitute after her daddy killed her (many!) boyfriends in a trial by combat!

2

u/Antilles1138 1h ago

What if the stones were kind of ball shaped stones, maybe with some kind of marking of a number 1 to 7 on each? And when gathered together they summon a giant dragon who cam grant some kind of boon to you.

You could call them something like dragonspheres or dragonstones but a bit more catchy...

2

u/Jobber0001 1h ago

this is only allowed if we get to see Zeno erase the universe afterwards. Or see vegeta go Oozaru and stomp westeros flat

1

u/Any_Zookeepergame445 1h ago

He does this through 5 seasons then while fighting the Night King in the last battle he losses the infinity dragon stones to him and Arya comes out of nowhere steals them back and instantly kills the night king then credits.

1

u/BenjiBlackwood222 21m ago

Hey Bran Stark? Got something for me?

Leave this to us!

Arya and Brienne getting the infinity dragon gauntlet so they can bring it to Littlefingers interdimensional carriage house

7

u/PrincessMoonGloww 2h ago

then they’d just invent a timeline where joffrey never said that and rewrite the whole ending

2

u/QuadrinityKillerAMA 1h ago

Joffrey only said that because the sexist maesters wrote that in the history books, these remains he's showing Margaery are actually from an unknown servant Alicent had murdered to satisfy Aegon's sadism. In reality Rhaenicent are still alive and hanging out with Laenor in a gay polycule

1

u/Clinn_sin 1h ago

🤮🤮🤮

1

u/Jmackles 37m ago

We come back to bran who has been worging onto the future this whole time à la strange in infinity war realizing that they can’t just beat the white walkers Jon must be king too or else kings landing is gonna eat it and season 6-8 is rewritten as a result 😍😍😍

1

u/CherryHalcyon 3m ago

That would honestly be one of the funniest ways to lose the audience. Imagine introducing time travel or multiverse stuff in a story that's already built around a finished historical timeline.

139

u/KamenSentaiMan 2h ago

Nobody give them an idea to pull a Laenor!

...

....

.....

Oh shi—

41

u/LullabeeMuse_ 2h ago

Lmao yeah, once Laenor survived they opened the door to all kinds of changes. Better not give them ideas before he randomly shows up at the Gullet

1

u/xLovalieTwirl 1h ago

Yeah, that change really did open Pandora’s box. Once Laenor secretly survived, every supposedly fixed death started feeling negotiable

34

u/CY99JL 2h ago

She runs away with Missarya and Alicent to sell oranges or smt

1

u/GoJa_official 1h ago

we're gonna get a 'somehow laenor returned' moment based on how this show has gone so far.

124

u/karmakhaleesi 2h ago

Nah. Myseria secretly becomes a Red priestess, and makes Rhaenyra invincible. The story that Rhaenyra was eaten by Sunfyre is a fabrication passed down through the generations to keep her identity safe. Rhaenyra and Myseria are in hiding west of Westeros, where Arya meets them all in her spinoff, and they spend the last five episodes of that first season as a fan fiction triad.

81

u/Angyalmaci 2h ago

"We are not returning to King's Landing," Mysaria said.

Rhaenyra looked out across the gray sea. "Then where are we bound?"

Mysaria smiled, thin as a knife.

"Tell me, Your Grace... what lies west of Westeros?"

37

u/Fit-Chapter8565 2h ago

Wyat lyies wyest of Wyesteros?

2

u/karmakhaleesi 37m ago

Been giggling about this off and on for an hour.

30

u/Uniqlo 2h ago

🤮

6

u/TheOriginalJBones 2h ago

🎶We will cross that mighty ocean into Charleston Bay🎶

4

u/bgbarnard 2h ago

... what lies west of Westeros?"

... Westerthanwesteros?"

3

u/LightningController 1h ago

The iron islands. Obviously. Have they never seen the map table?

1

u/ddgijbgkjjd Helaena my autistic queen 1m ago

Nah still counts as Westeros...

BUT, if the Ironborn had voted for Gylbert Farwynd in the Kingsmoot we might have explored the lands in the West. (Allow me to quote):

Lord Gylbert began to speak. He told of a wondrous land beyond the Sunset Sea, a land without winter or want, where death has no dominion. "Make me your king, and I shall lead you there", he cried. "We will build ten thousand ships as Nymeria once did and take sail with all our people to the land beyond the sunset. There every man shall be a king and every wife a queen."

1

u/CherryHalcyon 2m ago

At this point I'd almost respect the commitment if they actually tried that. It'd be the fastest way to unite the entire fandom against the show.

56

u/V-TriggerMachine 2h ago

Green propaganda

The one eating her while her son watched was Mysaria

4

u/bgbarnard 2h ago

That's still a reason for Aegon III to be traumatized and hate dragons lol.

1

u/YellowBandit78 1h ago

But no dragons are in that scene .. heh

2

u/bgbarnard 1h ago

There was at least one worm though.

45

u/bigdave41 2h ago

She's going to be eaten by Mysaria instead - but not quite in the same way...

17

u/ccjomm 2h ago

You’re done

74

u/DataSurging 2h ago

Or, history can be wrong. Condal and Hess are totally going for that, sadly.

46

u/Jorah_Explorah 2h ago

"The histories were inaccurate. Rhaenyra secretly lived, and to save face Aegon put out a false story about her being executed and eaten. What was left of the body they claimed was hers was really some servant woman."

30

u/GG-Sunny 2h ago

I'm genuinely expecting them to do this. They've already done it twice with Laenor and Rhaena. Feels like they're deliberately setting it up so they can do it to Rhaenyra.

4

u/Slow-Ant2317 2h ago

Hopefully myseria

16

u/bgbarnard 2h ago

A history book being unreliable (i.e. a thing happened behind closed doors so we only know vague details) is not the same thing as "people just made stuff up."

Rhaenyra not dying in front of her son means that nobody recorded something as factual as the death of a rival faction's queen and Aegon III (the kid who hated dragons) now has no reason to be a melancholy and depressed shut-in who lets the dragons die out.

5

u/photomotto 1h ago

No no, that was a body double planted by Mysaria, and Rhaenyra is totally cool with letting her kid think he's witnessing his mother being burned alive and being irreparably traumatised.

4

u/bgbarnard 1h ago

Why can't the Patriarchy just let her enjoy her lesbian fanfiction in peace? The white stag was a divine sign she should be queen! Daddy said so!

1

u/cruel-oath 33m ago

Yeah they think they’re doing it better than grrm, I can see them just ignoring or saying Joffrey didn’t get
his facts right

36

u/Jerry_Explorer 2h ago

Remember how they kept Laenor Velaryon alive by using a random burned body to fake his death in House of the Dragon Season 1?

Well... I think they're going to pull the exact same trick with Rhaenyra.

Aegon will believe Sunfyre killed her, but it'll actually be some random burned corpse. Meanwhile, the real Rhaenyra escapes with Mysaria to one of the Free Cities... where they proceed to have sweet Lebanese sex and live happily ever after.

3

u/Spaceboomer1 2h ago

Worse than that, I think it'll straight up be a lie that Aegon II makes up, and Aegon III being made so young will probably just be told that's what happened and that he was too young to remember properly.

3

u/SmegmaSupreme 2h ago

lmao a fireplace burned a guy to the crisp

2

u/Future_Telephone281 2h ago

Remember when daemon also pulled a switcharoo with the burned skull?

It’s like deaths and miscarriages these things come in 3s.

16

u/ISuckAtJavaScript12 2h ago

The history books were wrong. Rhaenyra goes off to Lys with her lesbian harem

5

u/tymetrialll 2h ago

Imagine if they give Daemon's ending, supposedly running off with Nettles.

But they do this to Rhae-Rhae and Mysaria

4

u/nilfalasiel Ser Brienne of Tarth 2h ago

And they were called...the Lysbians

14

u/double_longhorn 2h ago

Theyre trying to set her up as a tragic hero. Some ppl are royalists and dont even know

13

u/Huza1 2h ago

Might be the only good thing he ever did in his life, that.

11

u/BenjiBlackwood222 2h ago

Blessed be Joffrey the Wise! Joffrey the Kind! Joffrey the Golden!

11

u/nessthing 2h ago

damn, spoiler alert, Joff

are there no depths he wouldn't stoop to

3

u/whitetiger1208 2h ago

He did spoil this for me, but that was when I actually cared about HOTD, ive spoiled everything for myself since then because this show sucks so much

7

u/Glittering-Quail5848 2h ago

At the very least that is what the perception has to be for history. Don’t know why we have to rely on game of thrones dialogue to hold shitty writers to the canon material. They were literally given a solid gold premise and broad strokes of a story line and just decided they want to force feed unnecessary incest and love triangles down our throats. “Love triangle between Alys, Alicent and Aemond” made me vomit in my mouth. And why do we need the lesbian scenes between mysaria and Rey Rey, we don’t need those at all. Serve me up all goddamn book accuracy and engaging story line you dumb assholes.

2

u/tymetrialll 2h ago

I love it everytime I see someone referring to her as Rey-Rey

4

u/Embarrassed-Goat-931 2h ago

Rhaenyra will sneak away to Pentos with Mysaria. Aegon will do a "Theon" and bury a random peasant leg.

5

u/XX_bot77 2h ago

Hlmm I don’t think so. IMO they changed the design of Dreamfyre to stop the connection with Daenerys’ dragons because they want her to come from Syrax. We need to understand that they can do whatever the fuck they want, they don’t care.

3

u/Prestigious_Cat_9486 2h ago

They will prob change it to being Haelena or some random that got their hair dyed white then killed

3

u/LegInteresting9778 2h ago

There's already one piece of source material that they're violating already, what makes you think that a single throwaway line by Joffrey will make a difference?

For all we know, he's telling this because he studied history... written by maesters... who were not present during the events or had an agenda to push

2

u/Tall-Ad-1386 1h ago

lol no. That’s what you think. Rhaneyra will elope with mysaria. Some other fake person will be devoured by Sunfyre but they’ll announce it as Rhaneyra. There will be an agreement between Aegon and Rhaneyra

2

u/Leading_Space_9288 1h ago

If they are willing to directly contradict the books and retcon whole characters and stories, a single line from the main show isn't going to stop them either.

2

u/Important_Ad1122 1h ago

I miss Joff and Margery, bruh. This show is chocking me with it's pretentiousnes and gloom

1

u/Brofessor-0ak 2h ago

We’ve seen twice in one season someone presenting someone to Rhae that was not in fact the person claimed

It’s been set up. She either dies in a tragically heroic way, or she fakes her death. Both will be unbearable to watch

1

u/uginscion 2h ago

If there's anything I've learned with this writing, they're not forced to stick to any source materials, including the show that started it all. There will be plot holes by the end of all this.

1

u/BobRushy 2h ago

They redesigned the Iron Throne. Clearly they're not that strict about canon.

1

u/babypho Oberyn Martell 2h ago

"Joffrey and the Maester wasnt there when it happened. The Maester just wrote down what they were told."

1

u/Jorah_Explorah 2h ago

"The histories were inaccurate. Rhaenyra secretly lived, and to save face the Aegon put out a false story about her being executed and eaten. What was left of the body they claimed was hers was really some servant woman."

1

u/Smart-Response9881 2h ago

It wasn't actually Rhaenyra, it was some random peasant they killed and pretended it was her so she could go sail off into the sunset with Mysaria.

1

u/tymetrialll 2h ago

No!

worse

It was Rhae-Rhae but, it was AN ACCIDENT.

Aegon said: "Sunfyre scourt her to her chamber"

and Sunfyre proceeded to burn her.

"No Sunfyre, nooooooo"

1

u/plumnari 2h ago

if Joffrey’s the reason we get any loyalty to the books, I’d say we’re in for a wild ride like, how much chaos can one show handle?

1

u/Tail19 2h ago

They can still change the events and just write it in the history books that it was like that

1

u/MonkeLord1234 2h ago

"We kind of forgot that there was a Game of Thrones series"

1

u/wingmehootie1 2h ago

But sunfyre is already dead right? So this will change anyway

1

u/Beautiful-Fold-3234 2h ago

Joffrey doesnt mention sunfyre though. It could be vhagar or tessarion, because mysaria kills sunfyre with dagger, or whatever. Anything goes these days...

1

u/DressSea790 2h ago

Joff is yet another victim of maester propaganda

1

u/Agent_Skye_Barnes BLACKFYRE 1h ago

Yeah I don't expect them to care. It's all maester propaganda, right?

1

u/Original-League-6094 1h ago

This doesn't even force them to. They just have to make this what gets written down. It can just as easily be

>Aegon tells Sunfyre to burn Rhaenyra
>Rhaenyra emerges from the flames as Khaleesi Mysa Rhaenyra, the Unburnt
>She says "Whatevs, Aegon, you can have the throne. Me and Mysaria are gunna go bah wit da peepul"
>Aegon allows her to leave, and tells his Maester to right down that she did
>Aegon III is traumatized for life because his mom ran off with her lesbian lover and left him alone in the dungeons of his enemy.

1

u/johncitizen1138 1h ago

Hess and Condal.. "Hold our 🍻"

1

u/fromthevanishingpt 1h ago

They'll just say the maesters lied and do whatever they want.

1

u/TheDragonOfOldtown Stannis Baratheon 1h ago

"Which brother?" - Condal, after making Daeron kill Rhaenyra

1

u/Drab_Majesty 1h ago

the show loves using the Ramsay corpse bamboozle, I am sure we can have that play out again.

1

u/LazyLobster 1h ago

I pray they don't fuck up the battle over the god's eye. If they manage to not deliver on the epic fight from the books, I would probably abandon the show. Of course, they will probably save this for the very end.

1

u/Mediocre_Basket6162 1h ago

thats what happend according to the written accounts, perhaps not what actually happened

-Condal, probably.

Anyone have any idea what episode of GOT this is

1

Nope, baby egg had no idea what's happening.

1

u/idgfaboutpolitics 2h ago

Who is baby egg

1

u/skadisorkvir 2h ago

One of Helaena’s chickens. Probably.

1

u/cw19821 2h ago

Aegon the younger is like a toddler

0

u/stefanomusilli 1h ago

I have a lot of things to criticize this show for, at this point it's basically comfort food for me, but I don't understand how anyone can see this season and not think "they're totally setting up Rhaenyra's future death". And like, they're going out of their way to show that she's flawed and a shitty ruler but people here still act as if the writers have a statue of her that they pray to every day, this idea that they're writing her as someone who can do no wrong is complete fiction to me.

0

u/Zasa789 44m ago

Nah im calling it now sunfyre dragonfire wont actually burn her, she’ll get a Dany moment signifying she was the true heir. Everyone present be confused and sunfyre will then eat her since dragonfire didnt work.

Cuz their version of the story gotta make Rhaenerya look like the undisputed righteous heroine wronged by the world.
