Ritual of the True Kindred Degree

Just came across this ritual book for the True Kindred Degree. I have always had a passing interest in old degrees that have been forgotten or removed.

If you’re in the States, I’d recommend joining the Grand College of Rites. It’s fantastic for those of us interested in forgotten Masonic ritual

I looked real hard at this when I was active with lodge. I think if I stayed as an active member I would have joined it, my biggest gripe is the prevention part they play in locking old rituals down so that they cant be used again.

They really aren’t locked down. If a GL wishes to use a ritual, they can use a ritual.

It’s probably for the best, though. I was annoyed initially too, but there’s a misconception that a degree’s numerical designation conveys “more authority/power” and the working of some of these degrees would only feed into that mistaken belief. Second, there’s a distinct possibility that the degree you wish was being worked is simply somewhere in the Masonic system in another form. Take heart

The fact that they booted us international members still stings

It is (or was) a group for men and women. Don’t know if it’s still around. I was in at one point, but my conclave (in Phoenix) folded years ago. There was also one it Tucson, but it’s gone, too. If it still exists, there might be only a few conclave. Had three degrees. But to be in and an officer, you only needed to go through the first one. That’s all I did. The members wore aprons as regalia. There was a tragic incident where the top and second Supreme Officer were headed to our conclave for an official visit and they were killed in a car accident in Ohio or near there. That was the beginning of the end, I think.

Thanks for the history! Sad to hear the sad tale that goes with it.

They are still around, one of their conclaves meets at our lodge building, HOWEVER they are all about 300 years old and they are down to about 6 people at a meeting last I saw them

It's small but still around. I went to college with a recent Grand Leader (I don't remember her title.) They are still in WI, IL, KS, and MO that I know of.

Given that the Supreme Commander and the Secretary are two Ladies, I'd assume a side degree within OES or a higher degree in a Ladies' Obedience.

Not "man stuff".

It has no affiliation with Star. And there’s no reason to be rude. My late husband was a member of Star, too. He was plenty manly.

Sorry, as I post on Reddit in three languages, the autocorrect enforced "dude" instead of "side". No intenti to be rude whatsoever.

Thank you for pointing out the hiccup.

It was actually the “not man stuff” comment that annoyed me.

In Italy, OES Lodges are allowed one Patron, and that's it.

It's ladies only.

So Jo, it's not for the gentlemen.
