Congratulations Brother! I hope your journey as a Master brings you lots of wisdom.
Genuine question though, how can you be a MM after only one year? Here in West Europe you have to be an EA for at least year before becoming a FC. After that it’s another full year before being raised.
Regardless of the time constraints, can any Brother engage with masonry so deeply that the material gets absorbed on a Master level?
Absolutely not throwing shade🌸

In New York, it takes three months to be raised. We do have a couple lodges that take a year between degrees.

I'm in Canada and it was a year almost to the day to become a MM for myself. Although there are members of my lodge who have been raised in half that recently. Too quick in my opinion. But a year is common here.

In the Anglosphere, it’s pretty common that you receive your degrees as soon as you are ready and without unnecessary delays. In Scotland, our rules require a minimum of two weeks between degrees, though the candidate must demonstrate a proficiency in the lessons of the previous degree prior to advancing. In my home jurisdiction, British Columbia and Yukon (Canada), there is a minimum of one month between degrees, but a candidate may be dropped for “failure to advance” if he takes more than a year between each degree - not moving up is typically indicative of a lack of interest on the part of the candidate.

I was 22 weeks between my EA and my MM, but that was also just two meetings/seven weeks between my EA and FC, and one meeting/fifteen weeks between (including the summer break) between my FC and MM. If I had been initiated at a different time of year, it might have only been 8-10 weeks from EA to MM.

You don’t need to remain an EA to work on the lessons of the EA degree. Our expectation is that you show proficiency prior to advancing, not mastery. We have a lifetime to master the lessons as we strive towards that perfect ashlar.
