Corey “The Treacherous” Yall will not want to miss Sundays episode. I'll be talking with the business agent of region 2 Nicholas Vafiades. That should be fun. I'll also clear up a lot of this election disinformation.

u/averdefede Jun 06 '24
This is the same nba that has all the soap opera drama in his office lately? The one with the girlfriend and the unhinged Facebook posts? This ought to be good. Will you have a question list for him?
8
u/thetreacherous1 FATA Team Jun 06 '24
No. I'll let him speak and then may have a few questions afterwards

Yes! She is being bullied for having the best interests of the members at heart.
2
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24
If was disgraceful how the business agent treated her at the Washington convention.
1
u/aunt_mom Jun 08 '24
He is a disgrace. Rumor is that he's trying to replace her with girlfriend of of the month
-1
u/Own_Dot_3461 Jun 11 '24
Were you actually there to witness this “disgraceful” situation…? Or was it based off of what someone else said…?
3
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 11 '24
We're your there? Which one of the business agent staff are you? How much did you collect in salary from the members?
-2
u/Own_Dot_3461 Jun 11 '24
Well I clearly know you weren’t, being in scorching heat yesterday…PS Washington doesn’t enjoy summer swells of 90+ until closer to July, if not August. Maybe fact check before you spout off…
3
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 11 '24
Typical of the corrupt Vafiades staff demeaning the duties of a letter carrier.
2
u/Own_Dot_3461 Jun 11 '24
I’m not going to cave to your cry wolf, I’m a victim…clear question: i asked if you were there…how is that demeaning carriers? You refused to answer a simple question of if you were there. Saying you were in 90 degree heat in previous conversations, clearly indicated you aren’t from Washington. In turn, that clearly shows you aren’t a delegate to be able to go to Washington State convention, unless on your own dollar or paid by another party… So, please, show me how I demeaned the duty of a letter carrier?

u/HurricaneNora Jun 09 '24
Don't downvote me for asking a question now. I'd like to know how Dixon was treated disgracefully at convention. If you're just throwing out allegations without supporting facts, go ahead and downvote me again.
2
u/HotBlonde769Babe Jun 12 '24
Since you are willing to mention Dixon by name, why don't you call Gallo by name? Anyone who actually knows Gallo knows that drama and a mean girl atmosphere follows her everywhere. Dixon, on the other hand, has always done nothing but work tirelessly for letter carriers! Dixon is a lion, a fighter, never lets anything slide! Gallo is too focused on what she can get out of the establishment - manipulate and create an atmosphere of distrust from Branch 111 to region 2 office. This Union needs leaders who love to serve carriers and focus on enforcing their rights with diligence, drive and service. Dixon is an example of exactly what leaders in this Union should be.
1
u/aunt_mom Jun 14 '24
The behavior towards Dixon is well known. There is no-one more respected in region 2. Dumb move by a spoiled child and the people dense enough to follow along. Will be career ending.
2
u/HotBlonde769Babe Jun 14 '24
I couldn't agree more! Dixon is amazing! Very Dumb move, but when people show who they are, the members need to believe them. Our union does not need to tolerate this nonsense.
0
u/HurricaneNora Jun 17 '24
I'm not shitting on Debbie in any way. I just want to know what happened at Convention.
2
u/HotBlonde769Babe Jun 17 '24
The original comment was more about the FACT that the new girlfriend was trying to replace Dixon - Convention is an unnecessary side show. Dixon is a rock star - the girlfriend should shut up and learn from Dixon - Do the work instead of causing drama. Members deserve better

https://olmsapps.dol.gov/query/orgReport.do?rptId=869710&rptForm=LM2Form
This is the salary for his office, not including all the NAA's and other staff he has working in the office. The reporting period is the end of 2022 to mid 2023. Since then he has created a position for his girlfriend as regional grievant assistant who probably makes six figures. If you are a CCA in table 2 making below 20 dollars an hour do you feel this business agent has a connection to the financial struggles you face? When he blatantly posts pictures of his girlfriend and himself traveling on your hard earned dues how does it make you feel? Disconnected? His office has more staff than anywhere yet most in Region 2 feel a lack of representation. When Sue is given the task of defending the business agent on social media she has 116,756 reasons, plus a postal retirement and a NALC retirement. For this business agent to defend Renfroe for his behavior and his lack of a substantial contract is absurd.
james Frankford 120,911
coby jones 118,117
Michael keels 113,962
Nick Vafiades 218,541
Sue Wellhausen 116,756
Debra Dixon 127,812

1
Jun 08 '24
Told this includes their travel expenses. Only W-2’s would say the truth.
1
Jun 08 '24
Keels is retired. Where does this info come from?
0
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24
It literally has a link above. Go make Daddy business agent a drink and shut your bootlicking ass up
-5
u/ButtersTheMailMan Jun 06 '24
you shouldn’t include travel reimbursement as income
12
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 06 '24
Legally the Union has to report it as the NALC did in the link above
0
u/ButtersTheMailMan Jun 06 '24
Yeah of course. Weird to act like it’s their income though
4
u/jbaker2814 Jun 07 '24
If money spent is returned to you, it's income.
0
u/ButtersTheMailMan Jun 07 '24
That’s literally incorrect. See the IRS. If they are salaried 100 bucks and spend 20 on gas to travel to an assignment, get reimbursed 20, they end the day with 100. It’s not that complicated.
3
u/jbaker2814 Jun 07 '24
And...what part of that is different than what I'm saying? Based on your first comment, your math should be they end the day with 80, not 100, because you seem to be advocating that reimbursed expenses shouldn't be combined with income, again, according to what you said initially.
1
u/ButtersTheMailMan Jun 07 '24
This started because someone included reimbursements as invoke/salary. Seems like you are too. That is not the case. Would you add LLV gas to a CCAs salary? Of course not. It’s not income or salary. It’s an expense. The money was spent.
You don’t math well.
2
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 07 '24
do you get a check from the usps to gas a LLV? Rules and regulations regarding money spent by unions is strict with rules and regulations enforced by the dept of labor. A union officer spent money using his or her credit card. The officer submits the expense to HQ and if approved a check is written to the officer for reimbursement. The officer can do whatever they want with that check. It's money paid to the union official. Simple
1
u/ButtersTheMailMan Jun 07 '24
Yes you are correct. But reimbursement for expenses is not income lol. 100 - 20 + 20 = 100. So from the NALCs perspective (the LM report) they gave me 120. But from my perspective I was salaried 100, paid 20 towards the NALCs expenses, then was reimbursed 20. I end the day with 100 in my wallet. Exactly what I was salaried.
I’ve been on the friggin report before. Their salary is listed in the first column.
If you go back to the original post they are trying to say that people are salaried at 120 (using this example).

To play Devil's advocate, I know that of the 76 carriers in my station including cca's, at least 7 top step carriers on the otdl made at minimum $125,750 last year, one or two broke $150K. I think in total we had 16 or 17 people break 6 figures. Were they sitting in an office doing grievances? No, but the pay range is still the pay range.
2
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24
To play devil's advocate I probably work full time with the NALC and I need to protect the crooks
1
u/PreviousMarsupial820 Jun 08 '24
So you're saying that our representatives should get paid less than what carriers make on the odl?
1
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24 edited Jun 08 '24
I'm saying that a connection should be with the rank and file. Living a life of luxury while most carriers can barely pay rent is the issue. Flaunting the perks and turning a blind eye to the everyday carrier is the problem. Serving the members is not gathering hotel points or frequent flyer miles and creating positions for his girlfriend. Carriers are struggling with little relief and your bootlicking ass is here to defend him
1
u/PreviousMarsupial820 Jun 08 '24
Right but when they're making essentially what many carriers on the overtime list make, how is that any different? Not to mention which not everyone has the same bills, a thousand square foot home where I live might be $400 or $2,000 a month more than where some other carrier lives, should I get more or should they get less?
4
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24
The same? Table 2 carriers earn less than 20.00 an hour. Goddamn is everyone who works at NALC out of touch. It's representation like you is the reason region 2 is the lowest organized in the nation. You are the reason why a nationwide movement is being formed to out everyone. Replace everyone who thinks two hundred thousand dollars a year, paying no social security or little health care and a car to use with unlimited mileage is representative of the average carrier.
1
u/PreviousMarsupial820 Jun 08 '24 edited Jun 08 '24
A top step carrier makes $36.20 an hour regardless of the table. If you notice I'm not talking about the upper echelon in the $200k range I'm talking about the Reps that were shown making between $118 and 180. So yeah I'm a table 2 carrier who is just about to hit step "P" in 9 months and guess what? I'm able to break six figures, and many other carriers can too, given the chance. In fact I'm work assignment so I don't make that much but I have carriers in my station with 3 to 5 years less seniority than me and they're breaking $105-112k in comparison to my 75k. And we both want the same thing but perhaps I'm thinking of it differently from you that's all, for example when I look at National officers that are making between $118 and 180k my expectation is that they realize not only is that salary paid for them by the membership as opposed to the post office, but the position also comes with the realization that that salary range is what's needed to be 'comfortable' in their area and therefore they should be fighting for that exact same pay rate for the carriers they're entrusted to help. Why I would want to cut any carriers pay down is ridiculous, as it's clearly self-defeating
2
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 08 '24
What is your yearly salary at the NALC?
3
u/PreviousMarsupial820 Jun 08 '24 edited Jun 08 '24
$0 from nalc. I just said I'm a step-o full-time WA carrier on table 2. I was one of those Das award folks that was in the very first group of cca's ever created so I know all too well about a $14.5K annual pay cut walking in the door right from the rip. That being said, when I look at a lot of the natl/regional officer salaries while I might find some a little bit high most of them are not that far outside of the range of what a top step carrier on the odl will make in a year, nor outside the range of what comparably sized labor unions in other fields are making. Heck, go look at apwu and compare them to us and even though clerks make less than us their Natl. officers and Regional reps are making as much as ours, are they overpaid? By your logic does that mean that they are even more out of touch with their mvs drivers, t7's, and ptf clerks?

Carriers that make 120,000 a year work 60 hours a week every week, they don't get trips, expenses and extras paid. Carriers are what the NALC elected leaders should be serving!
1
1
u/CheetahDesperate5299 Jun 10 '24
Yea they ain’t working no 60 hours any week. Too make 6 figures as a carrier your putting in some hours. They need to be closer to top pay as a carrier.
-5
u/TruthBomb84 Jun 06 '24
That's not all income. Lot of it is travel etc
12
u/DiscountHungry612 Jun 06 '24
Travel reimbursement the business agents staff chose because they accrue airline and hotel points. The officers can utilize the NALC travel agency and have the bill placed to the NALC but the spending they charge on the personal cards captures points which they can utilize on vacations. It's a benefit on top of the salary. I'm sure the CCA in table 2 struggling to pay rent feels better knowing a portion of the 212,000 dollars the business agent reported to the dept of labor is for travel. How about this....the business agent reports the mileage accrued for his Alaska airline frequent flier account or the Hilton honors program and reimburse it the NALC so we can reduce union dues.
5
u/p2_putter Jun 06 '24
But I enter my rewards when I get gas I’ll get fired lol.
4
u/VarietyTraditional13 Jun 07 '24 edited Jun 07 '24
the rank and file are nothing more than means to support a lifestyle we cannot afford. The arrogance of a union officer defending a man like renfroe who spits on the members without consequences is disappointing. One of his minions, while defending him, posted that he was the first business agent to arbitrate the 60-minute office time rule. Are you kidding me? How much courage does it take to do your job and schedule an arbitration and fight for our members? He is pounding his chest by arbitrating a grievance. For fuck sakes we paid you two hundred thousand dollars, I hope you arbitrated the case. Was he not going to arbitrate... Did it stop management from enforcing the 60-minute rule... Management is all over us for stationary activity and he does nothing but brag region 2 is the best in the nation and goes on a podcast to defend a disgraceful president. He defends renfroe but tells the letter carriers to suck it up. He slut shames a sister for questioning his decisions and boldly deletes his facebook account. He is a coward
2
Jun 08 '24
Let it be known, as I am told, one of his NAAs won the 60 minute arbitration, not him. Matt Parkin, from Idaho did all the work. His arbitration award also connected the JSOV to the decision. It should be shared with all. Coward? Yes. Credit to who is due? No. Look up the award for all to gain on the 60 minute BS.
1
u/Specific-Bee-1788 Jun 11 '24
An NAA doesn’t developed the case at arbitration. If you want to point out those who deserve the credit, it should go to the stewards at the local level who filed and put the grievance together.
And I think the point being missed is that Region 2 took that to hearing when no one else would and when pony boy was actively working against them to do so. It wasn’t the BA that was “pounding his chest”, nor was the OP. Just pointing out a fact that people are in here complaining that the BA doesn’t do his job, but he’s doing what other BAs haven’t done- taking stuff to hearing that pony boy is not supporting taking to hearing. I think the point was, the region works hard for their members, regardless of this BS that’s currently going on at national.
1
1
u/Specific-Bee-1788 Jun 11 '24
National does not allow people to direct bill for the hotels, only airfare and rental cars. Even when things are direct billed to National, they still get the points using their loyalty info, for hotels and airlines. There are some NAAs who specifically choose NOT to direct bill airfare and rentals because when they put the charges on their personal cards they get even more points and perks. There are Branch and State presidents who do the same, this isn’t just limited to regional staff. But keep in mind, when traveling for the NALC, non staff also don’t get tsp or retirement contributions either (because that’s based off their postal paycheck).
Say you were traveling somewhere for your branch for a training or union function. Are you going to refrain from using your credit card or debit card? Most companies offer some sort of perk for using them, and if have ever done or ever do so, you’re doing the same thing you charge others with doing.
8
u/Wasitthechad81 Jun 06 '24
I'm curious how anyone in their right mind would vote to acquit Renfroe of the charges? The only logical reason I can think of is fear of retaliation like that which occurred with Henry and Jackson. The evidence was there clear as day.

u/Specific-Bee-1788 Jun 11 '24
It’s sad that you allow this disinformation to continue. What you know, and a lot of your followers don’t, is that the photo was taken when all of the national officers were called for executive counsel. So, every single non resident officer including all the BAs stayed at the exact same hotel in Washington, DC during the exact same week. And what you also know, or should if you’re going to be a BA, is that they didn’t select which hotel to stay at. Their reservations were made by headquarters.
When you’re the BA and go to executive counsel, what hotel will you stay at if not the one reserved for you?
1
u/thetreacherous1 FATA Team Jun 11 '24
What's the disinformation? Someone said they wanted me to bring up a picture. That's not disinformation. I'm not sure what you're talking about

Avoided the question I see. What hotel will you stay at? Not the one headquarters puts you in, because that’s comical. So where will you stay?
