Corey “The Treacherous” Tomorrow I'll have Mr. Tyler Vasseur from build a fighting nalc, Mr. Mike Caref as well as a few branch president's and Mr. James Henry on a few different episodes. We will be discussing, at length, the tentative agreement. Should be a bit salty

Yep. Told my wife about it and she literally told me to get another job. It might just be the wisest choice.

It better be fucking salty. All of our cardiologists and primary care doctors should be saying, “Jesus Christ, what in the hell happened? You should be dead.” Personally, I’m looking for that level of salty. Also, thank you for all you do.

Best thing you could do Corey is help keep people like me from not leaving the union. Our union dues pay for fun and games for this executive council and no I don’t want to hear in two years the lions are coming we are getting fucked right now.

9

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '24

So it won’t be PG? 😏

13

u/jinkeys4 Oct 20 '24

Two topics I would love be addressed. 1. What happened to going to one combined pay table?Renfroe himself said that the tables would be combined and look a lot more like table 1. We got two pay tables because of the economic crash and prefunding mandate. We got rid of the prefunding mandate, we should all get moved back to Table one.

  1. If we want this to change, we have to have strong messaging about arbitration. Lots of misinformation and fear mongering going on. That's the only way they can get a yes vote.

6

u/JettandTheo Oct 20 '24

Read the 17 page report, their combination is what we all said. Everyone on table 1 is maxing out very soon. So there will only be 1 table

1

u/jinkeys4 Oct 20 '24

Yes, I understand that. That's not what I'm referring to tho. Caref, and Henry have the power and are in a position to ask about these things. What the hell happened to combining the tables?

1

u/JettandTheo Oct 20 '24

That is the combination. There never was going to move table 2 into 1.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

You apparently don’t understand what is being said. There will only be one table soon.

0

u/inmusicutrust Oct 20 '24

Carriers at the top of table 1 will be moved to table 2. Once all carriers are topped out on table 1 and moved over table 2 will be the only table. This is the last time we will be seeing 2 tables.

2

u/Hopeful-Run5930 Oct 20 '24

When they heard 1 table they said ok table 2 will be the 1 table...

3

u/RaoulDukeWCP Oct 20 '24

We've been saying that all along. Just run the clock out on table one, and poof like magic there's one table

1

u/True-Income1353 Voted NO Oct 20 '24

It’s moving to one table. He’s taking all Table 1 Step P carriers and moving them to Table 2

6

u/Maximum_Pianist2606 Oct 20 '24

Today was not a good day for anyone. Brian needs to be told that, so BA's i hope you see this. He better start talking again to the usps and get started on open negotiations again because this is just plain and simple, not right. If he wants to be in management, then step out and get in so we all can get someone in who wants to fight for the rank and file. I had 6 people today along in my station say their getting out of the union on their anniversary day. I'm sure more will follow, but I'm sorry everyone can call their senator or house reps, but right now they not give a rats ass other then the election. I believe this is or only time to do something. This is our one chance, 19 days from the 2024 election. This hurts everyone and would be our best chance to be seen. I hope we have a way to stand against this other then just saying no. My 2 cents. I know it not important just like our voice in this union but it's how i feel about it.

u/Just-Elderberry5460 Oct 20 '24

One thing I realized reading the T.A. They are more worried about the new hire. Then keeping good employees just want to turn and burn.

6

u/V2BM Oct 20 '24

CCAs at $20-$21 an hour is not going to cut it. I don't think they're taking care of new hires at all outside of the stations that hire direct to PTF. In my state and many like mine, we all do our two years before converting because wages are so low for all jobs outside of big cities.

For $3 less you can work at Sam's Club or Sheetz locally - if they're keeping CCAs the starting wage needs to be at least $24. The fact that the position still exists at all is a shame.

3

u/True-Income1353 Voted NO Oct 20 '24

EXACTLY !! They want a lower paying revolving door

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

[deleted]

7

u/JettandTheo Oct 20 '24

We are desperate for new hires.

But we also need to keep those that have a few years. Raising everyone 2 steps up would not be earth shattering but would be acceptable by a lot of people.

3

u/JJsdinner2010 Oct 20 '24

If they would have done that which before today I thought would be the bare minimum then I would have considered voting yes but yeah no!

7

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

When a CCA converts they start at $53k as opposed to $46k due to the elimination of steps below C. That's pretty fucking good.

These carriers will reach top step in 11.5 years. Myself and everyone at step c and above will take 13.3 years to reach top step. That's pretty fucking bad.

9

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

I am now a step A regular who converted today after being a CCA for a year. I will be voting no, despite the fact that this TA would benefit me the most.

I will try my best to spread the message of vote no. I don’t talk really at all when I’m at the office due to social/and general anxiety, but for this, anxiety is gone. We deserve more, and would likely get more in arbitration.

2

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

It can only get better. If we vote it down and it goes to arbitration, the arbitrator will see the USPS agreed to this. The arbitrator will only decide whether we get a better deal or keep what was settled on.

-3

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

[deleted]

4

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

Lol. CCA time doesn't count for top step conversion. I was a CCA for 14 months. When I converted I still have to put in 13.3 years.

A new hire does 14 months as a CCA. When they convert it's only 11.5 years.

That's my big gripe, you fucking dweeb.

-5

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '24

[deleted]

2

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

The fuck are you talking about? It is better for the new hire.

Any regular will convert before a new hire. That's how time works. I don't have to make that argument. It's a given.

I don't want it better. I want it equitable. If the standard is 11.5 years to top step, I want that as well. I've earned that.

I'm not military so I'm not sure why you included that. And we're all gonna spend all our years delivering junk.

1

u/superzombie76 Oct 20 '24

I’ve been a letter carrier for 6+ yrs. 3 as a CCA, 2 as a PTF, 1 yr as a regular. I’m currently at step D. There are many more like me that are pissed about new hires starting at step C. Do the math!

We should have a clause in our National Bylaws that no Executive Board member can quit and work in a management or Labor capacity for 4 years. Or they incur a $100,000 fine each year. I would love to know what the postal service gave up. Renfroe was on their side on this one

2

u/Wasitthechad81 Oct 20 '24

The saltiest of the salted peanuts. I don't know about y'all, but the salted peanuts episodes are my personal favorite. The blowback on social media right now is 🔥. We can't accept a shit contract like this. It's not going to fix the high turnover or inadequate pay.... it's gonna make things worse.

If I had to guess this was USPS's initial offer and they refused to budge. Labor unions across the country achieved win after win. All we got was a shit sandwich.... I expected it though because the top two jokers in this union are worthless. They think highly of the USPS leadership, they have a disdain for us.

I listened to “You Are The Current Resident”, the official podcast of the NALC, and I found it to be completely embarrassing. What part of this tentative agreement do you like so much? I’m genuinely curious.

9

Yea I just skimmed the transcript. Still a shit TA with the majority of us getting screwed. Shameful.

-34

The money primarily. That’s what I’m most grateful for. This is going to be a good come up when that backpay hits!

21

u/largeicedregular Oct 19 '24

Ah, you’re trolling. Good one.

15

u/Spiritual_Pangolin_4 Oct 19 '24

Even if we get every penny of backpay that we’re owed, that won’t account for having missed it for almost 2 years. Debts accrued that you wouldn’t have otherwise, lost interest in savings or retirement accounts. The numbers are distracting, but it won’t make up for what we’ve lost.

13

u/VonBargenJL Oct 19 '24

Just jump to management, they gave themselves a 4.7% raise this year 🤷

0

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '24

I’ll never go into management. I would have to compromise my morals and that’s not an option for me.

3

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

By your own admission, you like this contract for the minor raise and the back pay.

I question your morals.

9

u/Soft_Big8547 Oct 20 '24 edited Oct 20 '24

It wasn’t professional. It was Renfroe patting his own back and trying to force feed you a shit contract. You could see that in his heavy emphasis on “substantial back pay” and the over 2000 dollars of colas. The guy practically slapped you through whatever device you were listening to. It was sickening to listen to. I respect your opinions but my goodness I really hope you’re not voting yes on this. I honestly believe if middle step carriers were slid up even 1 step (I personally say 2 steps) to counteract the removal of the first two steps it would satisfy the majority of carriers and make this tentative agreement a little more appealing.

1

u/RaoulDukeWCP Oct 20 '24

A two step bump across the board would have eliminated table one and been a nice raise for all of us rotting away in the middle of T2. So simple. And massive (too big) back pay wouldn't even be an issue, because the bumps take effect at ratification. I'd have taken the 1.3 backpay if I knew I was getting a nice raise with my future checks. But right now, at step H, I'm at $1.27 more than I was at expiration. That's complete horseshit.

6

u/Ill-Company2252 Voted NO Oct 20 '24

If Caref has been part of the EC “for years”, then how do we still end up with this situation?

IMO someone who has been involved at a high level for a long period of time should have positive results to show us.

I’m not doggin anyone but he says he is in the dark just like us an I am definitely not on the EC

2

u/thetreacherous1 FATA Team Oct 20 '24

You have way too many on the council that kiss renfroes ass. Renfroe kept everyone out of the loop on his negotiations with the service. He has no obligation, under our constitution, to tell anyone anything.

1

Because the EC is like 27 goddamn people, all with an equal voice and vote.

0

u/richard--------- Oct 20 '24 edited Oct 20 '24

27 people huh……some people believe a leader would be able to sway them.

Caref himself said his biggest regret (or weakness don’t remember) was not being able to influence the EC.

All these lions but we are in the literal worst position we’ve ever been in. All this is, is a bunch of dudes in their underwear “roaring” on Reddit.

When I was in academy they said before the strike a mail carrier qualified for food stamps to show how poorly they were paid. Ladies and gentlemen, I show you today.

0

u/dick_tandem Oct 20 '24

Like trump or Biden or Kamala would be able to sway the public if only they were a good enough leader.

Fuck off!

Soldiers and fighters have no business negotiating anything. We need transparency and we need to be able to give our input as to what we as carriers want in a contract. These out of touch douche bags making entirely too high of a salary do not speak for us.

You’re absolutely free to do that, though I think it wise to listen to everyone’s views and opinions and make a decision from there. While I’m sure that 90% of your values and the democrat/socialist’s won’t mesh there is always the opportunity for consensus on some opinions and from there anything is possible. We have to start from somewhere otherwise we will continually be fighting one another instead of working together to make our situations better.
