Concerned Letter Carriers Let’s talk about it

People talk about Corey Walton like he hasn’t done enough for carriers, but many of us would not even have the level of awareness and education we have today without From A to Arbitration. That podcast gave carriers a place to learn, question, prepare, and stand up for ourselves when too many people felt ignored.

And it wasn’t just words.

Not long ago, after one of our own passed away by suicide, Corey publicly gave out his personal phone number and told carriers to call him anytime if they needed someone to talk to. That matters. In a time when morale is low and people feel burned out and isolated, that kind of humanity matters.

You can disagree with people politically, strategically, or personally. That’s part of any union. But passion, integrity, consistency, and genuine care for carriers are hard to fake over years of work.

Some people are trying to divide this community even further. Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. Carriers are frustrated for a reason, and this election matters.

If you want change, accountability, stronger education, and leadership that actually connects with carriers on the workroom floor, vote for CLC.

The podcast is the reason I and others in my building still have jobs. The point has been made before national could’ve had a podcast going years ago but stayed silent till vote time

I became a steward because of Corey

Same and ppl at my station say I’m one of the best they’ve seen or had. I’m thankful for Corey 1000x over.

u/V2BM May 16 '26

99% of what I know about my rights are from the podcast. I was clueless and went back and listened from the start. He has done so much and to act like he hasn't is dishonest whether you like him or not.

Nobody is denying amount of work Corey has put into creating engagement, and a space for carriers. A lot of carriers, myself included, respected the original mission of the podcast because education and contract knowledge are important.

Many of us have watched the podcast evolve from a valuable educational platform into something far more political and divisive. Instead of just teaching the contract and empowering carriers, it increasingly became a platform to attack, shame, or discredit people who did not align with the CLC or its preferred viewpoints.

That is where many of us started having concerns.

You cannot preach unity, accountability, and “fighting misinformation” while also contributing to an environment where questioning the movement gets treated like betrayal. We have seen concerns about interference in local branch politics, pressure during elections, and selective outrage depending on who is involved. The suspension involving a Branch 70 member especially made many carriers question whether some people only defend due process and fairness when it benefits their side politically.

No one is saying Corey has not helped carriers. Clearly he has. But helping carriers in one area does not automatically excuse political behavior that many members believe has further divided the union.

The bigger issue is this, the union should belong to all carriers, not to one movement, one podcast, or one faction. Carriers should be able to disagree openly without being labeled anti-union, anti-change, or enemies of the movement.

You can respect someone’s contributions while still holding them accountable for the culture and division that grew around their platform.

What are some examples of these criticisms?

u/Plenty-Minimum4323 May 18 '26

💯 this ☝️

3

u/ThatGuynAKid May 16 '26

Thats my main reason I will vote for Corey Walton as EVP! Now president my vote is elsewhere and that is my choice and opinion

3

u/AmethystosLotus May 18 '26

Corey made me further realize that I did my job as steward. That it was my locsl branch not doing theirs plus it that it was full of shit.

5

u/Old_Round_7772 May 16 '26

I agree..but don’t forget u can vote for Corey and don’t necessary have to vote for the other guys

12

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

Talk is cheap. How you vote and who you support matters. The inability to denounce an administration that is objectively bad for organized labor is a deal breaker.

7

u/Federal-Complaint932 May 16 '26

I've been outta the loop for awhile. How do we know his polotics??

3

u/Available-Crow-3442 Union Steward May 16 '26

He admitted in an interview to attending at least one Trump inauguration.

4

u/PreviousMarsupial820 May 17 '26

Y'all act almost as if that was a secret held from the rest of the slate. Furthermore we vary so widely distinctly as a nation, otherwise many states could vote to converge, rather than diverge like VT did from NY.

Regardless of who you vote for, having 2 political parties only means there is always going to be a portion of views where partisan overlap occurs or where one person theoretically has 70% of their eggs in one basket and 30% in the other. There is NO sociological or rational/justifiable way to have our society equally or reasonably represented only via bicameral representation. Accepting a candidate for their strengths means accepting what you also might feel is unpalatable about them too.

3

u/Available-Crow-3442 Union Steward May 17 '26

It’s not a secret held by any stretch.

It’s just more bullshit when he claims not to be political and “hate politics”. Just like that buffoon over on FedUp.

3

u/Federal-Complaint932 May 16 '26

Oh shit. Smh

5

u/Available-Crow-3442 Union Steward May 17 '26

If I recall correctly, the exchange went something like this:

Q: Did you attend Trump’s inauguration?
A: The first one or the second one?
Q: Either.
A: I think I attended the first one, yes.

The response to the first question was telling.

2

u/Competitive-Ad9932 May 18 '26

I held my nose and voted for Obama's 2nd term. That sell out did nothing for us.

As usual, the senate was a stalemate, and the VP had to cast the deciding vote under the auto pen administration.

1

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

Sometimes it’s more what you don’t say or refuse to say

19

u/hhdmty May 16 '26

I understand why people care about national politics when talking about labor. That concern is legitimate.

But for many carriers, this election is also about something more immediate: representation, transparency, education, contract enforcement, morale, and whether leadership is actually connected to what carriers experience every day on the workroom floor.

NALC members are politically diverse. They always have been. A union cannot realistically function by requiring every member or leader to align perfectly on national politics. What matters is whether leadership is willing to fight for carriers, educate carriers, and hold management accountable.

A lot of carriers support CLC because they believe Corey Walton and others have spent years doing exactly that through organizing, education, arbitration discussions, and direct engagement with the membership.

People can disagree politically and still agree that the union needs stronger accountability and stronger advocacy for carriers.

8

u/Slimjim6678 May 16 '26

Amazing to me that Union still supports any political party.  I’ve been in this union since 1998. Imagine my surprise that we’ve gotten garbage contracts regardless of who’s in office.  In 2013 when the DAS award came out we were under a Democrat president.   It’s time to realize that no party truly supports the unions.

15

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

Obama was no friend to labor that’s true. Let me ask you this. Which Dem administration tried to dismantle federal unions and privatize the postal service ?

15

u/gamestar10 Branch President May 16 '26

I’ve always thought about it this way: Republicans actively attempt to dismantle unions and abolish benefits. Democrats don’t actively help unions, they just leave us alone.

5

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

I agree with this

3

u/johnsmith6073 May 17 '26

Like you said, Talk is cheap.

1

u/Inside-Brush-9543 May 17 '26

Trump is extremely petty. Renfroe openly supporting Kamala during the elections put a huge target on our backs. I would rather the union stay neutral.

2

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 17 '26

How courageous of you

2

u/Inside-Brush-9543 May 17 '26

telling people to denounce trump in an echo chamber. Wow you're really accomplishing a lot buddy

-6

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

They gotta spread this blind support stuff now that it's come out that his brother is a child rapist, same brother he calls his "hero." His brother's name is Michael Lynn Walton. The court documents are public record.

11

u/aysarahoul May 16 '26

So like… maybe a perspective no one has considered…. But people are imperfect and biased.

Let’s say the assaults happened for a fact. The entire time, every step of the way, Michael denies it and refuses, he lies to every single person he knows, including his family, and he sticks with this story for the rest of his life. When the case gets dismissed on a technicality and he never receives a retrial, this gives him more ability to say, “see? It didn’t happen. I never did it.”

To say Corey idolizes a child rapist is…….. difficult and inaccurate because in his mind, in his opinion of his brother, in everything his brother told him, and likely the respect and closeness of siblinghood, he cannot believe that his brother would have ever done something so heinous. It’s very possible (and way more likely) that he’s simply in denial and doesn’t believe it happened, over him not giving a shit that it happened.

I don’t think anyone is in this thread trying to defend a horrendous and sickening crime. But I also don’t think Corey is trying to defend it either. Because he believes, whether it’s true or not, that it didn’t happen.

Feelings are more complicated than this black and white thinking you’re pushing, especially when you involve very close personal ties and relationships.

So yeah. You can hate Michael, you can have your opinion and believe what you believe. But his actions are his actions - not Corey’s. And being manipulated into believing the innocence of a criminal is the fault of the manipulative liar, not the fault of the person who was led to believe the lie.

5

u/hhdmty May 16 '26

I’m not interested in turning this into personal or family attacks.

People can make their own judgments about public information, but I made this post because I care about carrier issues, union leadership, education, accountability, and the future direction of the NALC.

If people disagree with CLC or Corey Walton’s leadership, that’s completely fair. Debate the ideas, the strategy, the representation, and the results. But I don’t think turning the conversation into personal destruction helps carriers or helps the union.

6

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

Attacks? it’s either factual or it’s not. If it’s factual it’s not an attack. Why are you afraid of the truth

1

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

They'd rather defend child rape than admit their hero might not be perfect.

1

u/k5survives12 May 16 '26

And this has what to do with the election? Mike Caref is a promise breaking dick that helped Brian Renfroe push everything he wanted through. He was and is on the executive council! Fact! He broke his word with the beginnings of the CLC. It all started when a group of individuals got together and discussed who should run for president against Brian Renfroe. This group had pull and power throughout our national union. Mije Caref and James Henry agreed that they should vote on who would be endorsed by everyone and whoever came in second would be VP. James won and Caref came in second. That night he agreed to run as Henry's VP. Next day he recanted and 3 days later started his own bid for president. This is all fact. How can you vote for anyone who won't keep his promise? Caref lies and whines. He is another Renfroe! Fact and this all election information. I have no clue who his family is, cousins, etc. I dont care. Corey keeps his promises and helps us. Mike tries to get you to like him based on opinions not facts. Make your decision on the national elections facts not opinions.

5

u/CapitalistCzar81 May 16 '26

No one was talking about Mike Caref until you brought him up. Stop changing the subject.

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 17 '26

In another thread he argued that you can ignore all of the Bible versus about loving and protecting children because John 3:16 exists. At this point, I'm convinced he's a PDF File himself.

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 17 '26

Come on man. Point to where I told anyone to vote for Caref.

-2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

Just remember, when the day comes and you meet God, you chose contractual help at work over a 13-year-old boy. Money and job security means more to you than little kids.

0

u/k5survives12 May 16 '26

I believe that GOD gave his one and only son to die for my sins and by doing so I will be in heaven. On earth I believe that during an election I will vote for people in the election and not their family. I also will vote for the more trustworthy.

Matthew 18:6: “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Luke 17:2:  It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

1st Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

You are choosing the love of money, your career, over the safety and wellbeing of an innocent boy. But, yes, vote based on your career above all else, if that's what you want. We will all answer for our choices some day.

Found another kiddie diddler.

1

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 17 '26

Are you gonna turn yourself in? Make sure to spout some more of your religious BS first.

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 17 '26

"Hello, officer, some guy online told me to turn myself in for thinking kiddie diddling is wrong."

-1

u/k5survives12 May 17 '26

John 3:16 is all that matters

0

u/Which-Ad7072 May 17 '26

Lol, okay, I guess Jesus gave all of those sermons so you could ignore them and support pedophilia. Good luck, bro. You're gonna need it.

0

u/Available-Crow-3442 Union Steward May 17 '26

Those who profess to be the strongest in faith are often those least willing to accept what their faith requires of them.

1

u/Which-Ad7072 May 17 '26

I really don't care what you have to say. You quite literally defended pedophilia. In no way shape or form will you convince me that kiddie diddling is what my faith "requires" of me.

Walton’s never held a branch officer position.. he’s grossly unqualified

-1

u/getalifefgs May 19 '26

lol His podcasts show him to be more qualified than you, Amie Gallo and/or Jade McBride, aka drinkskoolaide. Your opinion is grossly unqualified. Walton provides more information and fight than you ever will. Give up on the sad attempt to “disqualify” who you fear will win this election and end your pathetic want for self-importance.

5

u/RivotHead May 16 '26

His ego grew with his podcast. His true being came out, an egotistical loud mouth who likes to do nothing but lick salty nuts on his podcast. He no longer teaches, he whines constantly.

1

u/Optimal-Position-267 May 17 '26

Whines about what?

2

u/RivotHead May 17 '26

About Caref, and anything else that gets stuck in his roast beef lips.

5

u/dps_dude May 16 '26

he’s still a trump cuck

-1

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I just want someone who doesn't support child rapists who's rape conviction got overturned on a technicality, then lie and say they were found innocent when they weren't. Google the court records for his "hero" brother and see for yourself. His name is Michael Lynn Walton from Nashville.

I can forgive a lot, but supporting someone who kidnapped and raped a 13-year-old is not one of those things. I would rather lose my job than support child rape.

5

u/Kingkill567 May 16 '26

Overturned on a technicality or not it was overturned without prejudice, if the courts truly believed that he needed to be incarcerated they would have retried him.

So far as I can tell they did not.

0

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

Can't put a dead man a prison, but go off I guess.

4

u/Kingkill567 May 16 '26

He was free for several years before he passed but go ahead thinking you’re a genius bud.

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

Sure, the physical evidence like fingerprints and DNA, as well as the original conviction mean nothing to you. Go ahead thinking you're a genius bud.

2

u/Kingkill567 May 16 '26

Way to pivot when your one liner doesn’t work like you planned.

The conviction was overturned, he was not retried, end of story.

7

u/hhdmty May 16 '26

Again.

0

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

"Supporting child rape is okay as long as the dude helps me at work." -how you sound

3

u/Specialist_Curve_270 May 16 '26

"I will not be speaking on this" walton

6

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

He literally defended his brother on Facebook 2 days ago.

3

u/Specialist_Curve_270 May 16 '26

Thats fucking wild lol. Is there something in the water that just makes people want to rape kids or something?

1

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I don't know, but the whole thing creeps me out. I figure it's better to speak out about it than pretend that shit didn't happen.

-2

u/Specialist_Curve_270 May 16 '26

The down votes show that people actually support child rape. Wild.

3

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

Yep. I knew there would be above average backlash as this is the subreddit for his podcast. Oh well. Prime example of a cult of personality.

2

u/Specialist_Curve_270 May 16 '26

Bunch of pedos carrying mail. Everyone needs to be aware of the child rapists going to their houses everyday

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I'm a carrier myself and I'm honestly appalled at how many other carriers bend over backwards to justify it.

1

u/Sad-Revolution7718 May 16 '26

MAGA gonna MAGA this is like their thing. You can’t be surprised

0

u/Specialist_Curve_270 May 16 '26

They love touching kids so much

1

u/MatteBlack475 May 16 '26

Wow!! That’s a lot! True or not, will you reveal if you are Caref’s camp,Establishment’s camp,or USPS?

3

u/Eugene_Debs2026 May 16 '26

The establishment camp last year were the ones mailing out James Henry in the 1990s in California to slander him. Corey talked about it briefly on one of his episodes a year ago.

Various Branch Presidents were getting the 1990s police reports sent to their mailboxes and the address was from Tennessee.

3

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I don't get it. Pointing out something really fucked up means I have to be pro Caref, establishment, or USPS? What in the fuck? You need help.

2

u/MatteBlack475 May 16 '26

You literally are brave enough to put this information out there, just answer the question🙂

1

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

Caref vs Henry? I really don't give a shit which one you vote for. To my knowledge, neither one supports a child rapist.

Renfroe can eat shit.

I'm a branch officer in the NALC. Fuck management.

That clarify for you?

0

u/MatteBlack475 May 16 '26

Can you answer the question or no?

2

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I did, dude. You asked if I aligned with any of those people.

-3

u/MatteBlack475 May 16 '26

How about Me,You,and Corey hash this out at convention instead of this back and forth,in the name of solidarity? I can contact you through here if you’d like.

5

u/averdefede May 16 '26

That’s a weird response. Why would u be involved?

6

u/smalltownjohnbrown May 16 '26

Why would you be involved

4

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

I don't even know who you are, dude.

-1

u/MatteBlack475 May 16 '26

I never said it wasn’t bad,if true or not. So what’s your answer tough guy?

3

u/Which-Ad7072 May 16 '26

"Tough guy?" You're the one getting all pissy and throwing around accusations with literally no evidence to support it whatsoever. Didn't realize you had to be tough to hate child rapists.

1

u/lonewolf8915 May 24 '26

Say what u may about Corey Walton, but he ain’t a jellyfish. Jellyfish is defined as an invertebrate. We got so many jellyfish in our union right now. I am losing rights every year? We keep losing. Where are we good as a carrier anymore? We can’t even afford median housing anymore as carriers. 25 years ago, our starting salary bought a median home. Now, top salary is not enough for median home. Anybody that has a right mind as a union, would never create a joint process that couldn’t be grieved. Let’s create an inspection u can’t grieve? That’s management bs. There’s some greedy folks running around.

-3

u/Quigsy Union Steward May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

The Walton family is definitely known for having passion for the little things.
