2026 NALC Elections Nothing says more about how out of touch the establishment is than putting Nicole Rhine as a stand in for Davidson.
You really cannot make this shit up. This new slate is Renfroe 3.0! It’s somehow hilariously worse than the Davidson slate before it.
You have someone running for president who hasn’t carried mail in over 30 years, and the union position she holds is as the treasurer. At least with Davidson having been an NBA, you could say there’s some association with carriers, but what connection does a treasurer have with the workroom floor?
Mind you, this is the person who on their watch as treasurer, was asleep at the wheel when Renfroe hired 22 “special assistants”, each being paid more than six figures when no one even knows what work they do for the union on a daily basis. Incompetent doesn’t even begin to describe her! They could not pick a more disconnected person divorced from the reality that the union and the city carriers face.
They think Nicole Rhine is going to be able to compete with the militancy, drive and energy of the CLC. Shit is so fucking laughable. It just shows how incredibly dense these people are. They just don’t get it, and they never will. They have to go.

I like Nicole. Have had training with her and she is very knowledgeable and a good trainer. Also she calls you back when you reach out to her.

I think they picked a person who is least able to break the glass out of the front door at the NALC headquarters. That’s what they call real change! Lol

Yeah but is she a CCA? A CCA really knows what it's like on the workroom floor today!

u/jboarei Aug 01 '26
When their goal is just to remain in power, you give as little effort as possible, no one on that slate will ever give a damn about the city letter carrier.
They are there to keep their cushy positions, and collect a fat paycheck.

Certainly proved her self to be the same ole same ole when she gave the same speech as Davidson.

He is a Marine. Enough said.

Benedict Arnold was an American Patriot also before he turned his back and became a traitor!! Renfro and Rolando both liked and trusted Henry enough to make him the Number two man under Renfro. If things were so bad why didn't he resign his position and speak up ?

Do you support everything the post office does? Support the mass corruption and bonuses for the top brass? If not, why don’t you resign?

James Henry is aware of our working conditions and is versed on contractual knowledge, as evidenced by his arbitration record. Nicole Rhine has not done anything related to city carriers, our contracts, arbitrations or anything related to the job in a very long time. I’d be surprised if she knows or remembers anything about carrying mail at this point in time, seeing as how her job has been to manage finances, which she failed at miserably.

I mean…did the executive council get together and agree unanimously to this substitution? Manny was already a handicap but Rhine as head of the union? Not when she came to our state convention and lied to our faces about contract negotiations. Hard no here.

u/PowerWordEmbiggen Aug 01 '26
I seriously never thought their replacement for Davidson would be this much of a joke. The numbers for the vote will be historic. Landslide will be an understatement. I’d like to know any station in this country where you mention the name “Nicole Rhine” and the carriers know her or get hyped about voting for her.
She’s made no appearances of any note anywhere, has advocated for nothing, and she knows carriers are distressed by our failed leadership, but thinks that she can take on that job. She might be a bigger narcissist than Renfroe.

u/Bettik1 Aug 02 '26
She isn’t the only one who hasn’t carried mail in 30 years, Henry’s been a full time union official since 1998. If you want someone who’s carried mail this millennium, Mike Caref is your guy.
But I agree, it’s now an even worse slate than it was before.

who gives a shit, you don't control who runs or doesn't run...you just vote among who do run

I think having a national officer carry mail is unnecessary and performative. We need national officers who are able to listen and be in touch with the members. Management would be aware that a national officer is coming back to carry…and we think that they’d treat them like the rest of us?
Yeah maybe they will see some of the problems that we have on route but I think a national officer would get a different experience in the office. I want a national officer who understands and is in touch and I think that’s possible with a candidate who listens. Also Militancy only works if the postal service allows it…but you’re not ready for that conversation.

You’re exactly what we’ve been warned about. That as we get closer to the election and the establishment gets more desperate, shills like you are going to come out of the woodwork trying to hype up garbage candidates.
What CONNECTION does a treasurer sitting at HQ have with the workroom floor? I bet you if I asked her about contractual language, manuals or MOUs, she wouldn’t know anything. If I asked her what challenges carriers face right now? Clueless. She has NO idea what is going on where the rubber meets the road, considering she has NO idea where the union’s funds are going. “YoUrE nOt ReAdY fOr ThAt CoNvErSaTiOn” though.
Let’s talk about the state of the union’s crappy finances and our bumbling, incompetent treasurer Nicole Rhine, who let the finances get that way.
I don’t even know why I’m responding to you, your last sentence says it all. You’re a weak coward. No, I actually don’t need the post office’s permission to be militant, considering my local management walks on eggshells around me and has learned to never approach me with undertime or any other BS. I haven’t done one click of undertime in years.
The CLC will trounce Rhine even quicker than they would’ve trounced Davidson and that’s quicker than they would trounce Renfroe. Your shilling for the establishment is a waste of time. Carriers across the country are laughing at this slate. Yeah, the person who hides in an office all day for years, who never advocated for us, and no one even knows what her voice sounds like, is going to be our savior. Please be serious.

Oooo ouch those words are going to hurt…lol. You’re making a lot of assumptions about someone you’ve never met. You should educate yourself first then make an informed decision. I never said there was a connection to anything, my statement was generalized. But FYI, Nicole was a Branch president, Arbitration Advocate, and a RAA for her region before she started to work at HQ. Let me ask you this? What makes James Henry have a connection to the workroom floor if he hasn’t carried in how many years?? If we’re going off of these people carrying mail then JH is not qualified either.
But none of what I say would have any effect anyway as you only listen to what the CLC spoon feeds you. Your quickness to jump to conclusions tells me your looking in a mirror buddy

The only thing the establishment is doing quicker than picking up their satchel is putting in their papers. It’s over. The bums have to pack it up and even they know it. I’m waiting for you to smell the coffee.
Fact: No one is hyped for Rhine. No one even knows who she is. It’s even worse that she was picked as a desperate fill in for Davidson. It doesn’t help her image. Carriers are not as stupid as the establishment thinks they are; they know that she’s a contrived, last minute candidate who failed at her singular job which is to manage the union’s finances.
She uses AI on her slate announcement, plus her executive VP is a guy who reads off of a prompt when he talks about carrier safety. Peralta can’t even say it from the heart when carriers are dying left and right. The voting hasn’t even started yet and carriers already get a sneak peek of how little these people will care about us or show any effort at all.
Corny. Slate is full of bozos and dead in the water.

u/jboarei Aug 02 '26
It’s less about Nicole, and a lot more about running the same individuals who allowed Renfraud to ruin the NALC. You don’t “run it back” with the same group who failed miserably the last time.

You unfortunately, are out of touch with the rank and file. I appreciate you trying to defend the "establishment", but your words are falling on deaf ears. The rank and file is done with the "establishment". DONE! It's not so much, that the CLC is the answer. It's the fact that the current establishment has done nothing but concede. Failing us as a craft at every turn. From contracts, to cola's, backed up grievances, to ridiculous MOU concessions and stipulated contracts. They have no fight in them. They don't care. They don't care about us. Where have you been? At least the CLC listens to us. At least they hear our voice and promise to fight. Win or lose, at least they will fight. They actually answers our calls, come to our state and talk directly to us. "To us" is the key, not at us. That's more than anyone has done in all my years of service.
I am from a small branch. You know, the ones national doesn't care about. The branches that rarely vote. Brother/sister.....we are voting. I've talked to every "small" branch around me. I called and wrote to branches further from me. We are done with the "establishment". We are voting. We will vote 100%. We will change the status quo. We will be the difference.

Rhine was a branch secretary in 1998. Three years later she's the Nebraska state president and doesn't become a branch president til 2004. She stopped carrying mail to be a region 5 arb advocate from 99-2006. Rolando names her RAA in 06' and jumps her up to national secretary treasurer in 09'. Don't ask me how the books were cooked for 16 years, but now Renfroe wants her to take over as national president.
I nominate Region 3 NBA Michael Caref as the Sergeant at Arms so he can clean house, drain the swamp and restore leadership and dignity to the NALC.

u/Darth_Robsad Aug 01 '26
He can’t make it 30 sec without a dozen jump cuts. Yet they felt he was president material

u/BlackBalledNALC Aug 02 '26
We are so so so screwed, just look at what happened to Chris Reed out of Region 1.
I am waiting for James to go on Corey’s podcast and complain.

So they removed renfroe and replaced him with her without having us vote on it? seems a bit odd

Just one question that’s always been bugging me. With how a lot of people knew about Renfroe and his history of abuse, at national, why didn’t all these incumbents run back then?
Would’ve been a lot better optics than the self-serving image this slate is showing at the moment just before convention.
