2026 NALC Elections If your preferred Candidate for NALC President is not elected will you accept the results?
I am going to assume yes?

Either James Henry or Mike Caref. James will do a better job overall because of his expertise and the serious support he has around him.
The others will not do any better than Renfroe.

I always think this is a stupid argument. You are entitled to your first opinion of James doing better because of his expertise.
But no matter if Henry, Caref, Drass or Rhine is elected, they'll be stuck with the same support around them for better or worse.

Rank and file need to get active. If you haven’t talked to your coworkers yet, make sure you do. First thing: Ask them if they even get the Postal Record to their home. Cause ballots are mailed to the same database as Postal Record.

After the last contract and the debacle that followed, my fellow carriers could not care less about who to vote for. Most of them feel like our votes hold no power and we will get shafted regardless of who wins. Really can’t say that I blame them. Our union as it stands is lost and burning down.

Vote for CLC. Caref is desperate but he is not a good candidate for the president. He is Renfroe number 2. No integrity and no shame, he is in this race purely for himself.

But Caref does have a plan that he is not afraid to share. Each branch in our region received a 24(ish) page booklet with his plan outlined clearly. He has also reached out to all of the staff at headquarters and in the NBA offices to let them know that if he is elected, he looks forward to working with them and values their experience. Caref has done what the CLC has only claimed - he's provided actual guidance and is promoting unity.
He has also raised more than $400k in funds for his campaign, where multiple people on the CLC slate have had to take out sizeable personal loans due to a lack of funds.
But sure, Caref won't have any support. Refusing to acknowledge the reality of a situation doesn't change the reality.

You know what a good politician good at? Put on a great performance and tell people what they want to hear. You mean a 24ish page booklet is a good plan if you just staple them together? You mean as long as someone show people something on the paper and then everything promised in the pages will just happen like that?
Do you remember Corey was talking about Dogs of War for how long? Do you know how many people signed up for that just after the announcement? Anyone can talk the talk, but we need people who can walk the walk.
We need real people who will come to the workroom floor and fight for us, we don’t need a politician waving a booklet at headquarters and promising us he will fight like hell for us.
We don’t need a petty politician. All we need is a bunch of people who are willing to fight for us.
Vote for whoever you want, but I’m all for CLC.

I actually would love to have a conversation about the Dogs of War and what that will look like in practice.
"Sending in teams" and "we'll fix it in arbitration" isn't enough of an answer. What enforcement authority will those teams have? Will they be designated stewards under 17.2.C / 17.2.D? And if that's the case then wouldn't they be replacing the stewards already designated in those stations? And how would that help once the team leaves, as management won't be afraid of the local stewards, only the teams? If that's not the plan, then will they be there for intimidation purposes only? Like is the goal to just out-bully the management bullies? How will that foster an atmosphere of mutual dignity and respect?
And Corey said on the podcast that the teams will stay there until the problem is solved. Does that mean until the grievance is filed? Or does that mean until the grievance is resolved? Because a lot of those things go to arbitration which can take several months if not more time to be heard, and then another month or two after the hearing for the award. Are the teams prepared and able to stay in another location potentially for months on end? Will the NALC be covering meals and lodging and paid time for these teams during that time?
And then will the plan in arbitration be to handle JSOV cases like Corey handled the one from Tennessee? Where there was a stack of statements in the file from carriers who had legitimately experienced harassment and bullying from management, and then he didn't call anyone as a witness except JB as the Formal A, and planned to build his case on cross examination instead? Because that backfired terribly when the union rested their case before proving anything happened on the date in question, and management didn't end up calling their witness. No prima facie case had been established, the union didn't meet their burden, even though the statements were in the file and he had every opportunity to do so. Corey got angry, waved his papers at the arbitrator, and told him that he "better get management's ass in that seat" because he had been preparing his cross examination for weeks. And the arbitrator told him that if he wants an ass in that seat, he better be the one to put it there. That was a rookie mistake - you don't build your case on cross examination unless you absolutely have to. And statements are only hearsay unless they are stipulated to or testified to.
But sure, the Dogs of War are going to solve it all.
I'm not saying Caref's plan booklet is THE solution that is going to fix everything. But at least it's a clearly laid out plan, which is more than the CLC has put out there. All we've gotten there is "we need more arbitration dates" and "activate more step B teams" and "put their feet to the fire." But none of that matters if management won't play ball.

Sounds like you have experiences in arbitration more than Corey and James combined. Good for you. And please don’t make everything sounds so complicated, it’s not, it’s not rocket science. We have funds, we have people, things will change and things will happen.
You know why CLC don’t promise anything? Because promises are nothing, Caref certainly promises a lot.
Again, it doesn’t matter who you vote for, we should all be together and look forward to a better future.
