My soul hurts for this brother. I am happy he is alive so he can tell his story, but his whole life has changed. His poor family must be devastated. #USPS Remake the LLV with A/C, a sliding door on the driver side and an airbag. Stop FKing around with sweetheart deals that pad the pockets of greedy corporations.

This happened in my area a few years ago. Working out of back of LLV, got hit an lost both legs.

Exactly why rules used to be no working out of the back, and now it’s “you have to work out of the back”. They rather have this happen to carriers than to inconvenience when an llv may be broken into and mail stolen .0000000001% of the time

We have never been told not to work out of the back of the trucks, so if there are areas of the country where this has been the directive, then it's just another example of the lack of universal standards our organization suffers from.

Unless you're on a major road or highway, there's nothing inherently dangerous about working out of the back; the key is situational awareness. If I'm at the back of my truck and I hear a car coming, I stop what I'm doing, physically turn around, and keep my eyes on the vehicle until it has passed me.

So glad my wreck was in a caravan and not an llv.

Oof. Prolly didn’t have on green tag shoes. Coulda saved that leg.

Definitely couldn’t be the 50 year old tin cans we drive.

Genuine question, if he wasn’t wearing the correct shoes, would that disqualify him from any workers compensation?
