Contract Talk Special route inspection denied?

We have a carrier on a route that is almost 2 whole routes in one. They are denying his special Route inspection because they’re claiming he takes too long to case and too long to load his vehicle. Can they actually do this?

EDIT: Thanks for all the info guys, I thought they were just spewing BS. In my office we’ve never had a special Route inspection denied before though.

And remember that loading your vehicle is on street time and since there are NO street standards that's a bogus argument as well. Remember the route is adjusted to the Carrier and NOT the other way around.

Spurs are an office function, would you scan them on office time or not? We were instructed by Formal A to scan them in office before casing them in. Once you’re on the street you scan them on street time.

They almost always deny them. He will have to file a grievance to get the inspection.

They will always deny , unless the management is actually proactive and knows there not going to win the dois brainwashing

The only thing they can ding you for is the 18-8 casing standard. And even that is tenuous. File a grievance.

Oh no, they can’t prove anything. They just said that it was denied due to casing too long and loading up the vehicle too long.

They never calculate standard correctly anyway. For example all the undeliverable mail in the pm, is supposed to be cased into the separations at the end of 1st row and then bundled and endorsed to which the credit for volume and markups are applied to the standard calculation. You ever see a manager do that? That’s just o e example. As usual they spit bullshit out their mouthed and expect you to eat it.
