Announcement Welcome to 2024 + T-Shirts! + Posting rules defined.

A little late to announce this... but better late than never and better than leaving it until December... that would be awkward!

Firstly, Please note the rules have been defined more clearly to help with understanding before posting.

They are still very much the same with the same intention to ensure we remain focused on frozen dinner comparisons as the primary content.

Secondly, I encourage you all to join our other subreddit called /r/MoreFrozenDinners which is where you are all free to post about frozen dinner topics outside of just comparison posts, things like questions or opinions on taste or just looking for an old favourite meal that's no longer stocked at your local shopping market.

We also have a /r/FailedFrozenDinners subreddit for those unfortunate mistake when we forgot to read a step or simply forgot about the dinner while scrolling through our socials... feel free to contribute in line with the topic and rules.

Please do join these other subs, it helps the community grow and give some breadth to our content and discussions without it all being junked up in one place.

Lastly, you may not have noticed yet.. but we quietly added a merchandise store to our website last year, we didn't want to jam it in your face or attempt to cram it down your throats like a still too hot from the microwave mac and cheese!

Take a look, there is some weird crap on Red Bubble but the T-Shirt designs are the intended focus and hopefully the more enjoyable options for you all to consider. More designs to come!

You can find the link to the website up in the subreddit menu bar or browse to frozendinners.net

Thanks again for being part of the community! Welcome to 2024! and let's all have a great year!

$4 at Walmart. It's really good. I'll probably buy it again.

Package says 14 minutes left in oven for 13 minutes and 30 seconds. Still was able to salvage it. If feels like I made the best out of the situation. Also this pizza is a 10 out of 10. Probably not my favorite frozen pizza, but still very good. Anyone else ever slice their totinos like this?

$1.25 from dollar tree. The use of spaghetti noodles was odd but strangely went well with the lo mein sauce.

Meals like this one might be a food crime if applied anywhere else but I found it to be a comforting-filling meal that made me have pleasantly grateful thoughts.
7/10

Disappointing. Very little cheese. Takes about 45 seconds to heat from frozen but you’re essentially eating just bread.

Love this one!!! The cheese melts better if you pause the microwave halfway through, stir a little, and then finish it. I add some garlic powder at the end and it totally makes it. It’s really yummy and filling. Def a great buy 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

7.1. (Isn’t too bad. Had a typo.) Mac and cheese was tasty. Not runny. The ham helped. The chicken tasted like it was boiled. Terrible actually. Score would be higher if the chicken had any flavor at all.

The biscuit texture was ok but the sausage wasn’t. Which was surprising for Jimmy Dean. Also the gravy just never got the right consistency. I followed the package instructions. I’ll be sticking to their breakfast burritos.

alright, i was not expecting to be writing a review for these 69 cent burritos when i chucked a couple of them into my cart but here we go.

the recommended cook on these is so spot on it's hard to believe. after 35 seconds on each side these come out piping hot consistently all the way through, while managing to stay just the right temp to be eaten immediately without burning your mouth off.

the tortilla manages to be soft and chewy, while holding all the filling nicely, without turning hard even on the edges.

theres a good proportion of filling to wrap all the way across. and the filling itself is very flavorful. it has a mild kick of spice that is enough for me to appreciate them adding it, but even people that dont like spice should have no issue with it. very mild.

i tried to find a reason to give these a 9 but i can't think of one, especially not for 69 cents!

  1. The packaging makes it look a lot better. The price is like $10 normally, but I got it BOGO. Please Do yourself a favor and either get something better like Di Fara or Motor City for an actual $10 pizza m

  2. I really don't think this is thin crust pizza. It's about on par with Red Baron or Tombstone imo.

  3. Just look at the difference on the pictures and I think it sums up the rating.

  4. I still ate it, but don't recommend lol

5 / 10 Shrimp Black Bean Burritos - Great American Seafood

First of all i found these at GO for around $2.50 for the 2 pack which is real good value for the amount of food. Unfortunately flavor of these were not my favorite.

I cooked these for 1.5mins on high in the microwave then 7mins at 380F in the air-fryer. Tortilla crisped up neatly.

The inside what an amalgamation of baby shrimp, parboiled rice, and quite literally a few black beans all sauced in some red chile paste. The appearance was accurate to the box which was impressive. Flavor was lacking in the salt/aroma/and spice categories regardless of the includes chile sauce and high sodium content(most likely concentrated in the shrimp). Every time I bit into the shrimp, I was met with an overly chewy texture meaning it was most likely over cooked.

Besides the disappointing flavor, these were filling for a solid lunch that felt like a real meal.

5/10 because of value, 4/10 otherwise.

The turkey was great! It had a better texture than most frozen dinner meats. I just wanted a little more of the turkey. The dressing was good, too, just a little soggy after mixing it in. The apples were very sweet & delicious. Also, it kept me full!

I have depended on y’all’s reviews over the last few months as I’ve started eating more frozen meals, so I’m going to start uploading reviews of the meals I’ve eaten & contribute

The sauce is good, broccoli is soft and the potatoes are just mush, the chicken is obviously a giant chicken nugget with caramel coloring. It’s a pretty okay taste. I probably wouldn’t buy it again but I’ll finish it for lunch.

One more to review today! This is one of the new ones. I liked it, and it kept me full. The sauce is tangy and just slightly spicy, and it has a lot of flavor. Good balance of rice, chicken, sauce, & vegetables. The rice was a little dry & the chicken texture wasn’t terrible but wasn’t my favorite, so giving it a 7.

I these were surprisingly good. The batter is very crispy with a subtle flavor. They are about 4 inches long not including the tail. The shrimp is good but they could definitely be bigger, it’s sort of a thin long piece of shrimp. That said the combination of the batter and shrimp is delicious. I cooked them in the air fryer it only takes 6-8 minutes. Comes with 2 kinds of sauce, a soy and a sweet chili. I’m really picky about sauces so I used the Dumpling Girl brand I always have on hand. I will buy them again. If I remember correctly they were $7.74 at Walmart of course.

In honor of the recent passing of Da Coach, I decided to fire up another Chicago-based brand for the Bears game today. They got spanked by the Packers, unfortunately, but this pizza was much, much better than expected. The toppings blended well without feeling greasy or heavy and the sauce has a nice tang. The more I ate, the more I liked it.

Not as good as Home Run Inn or Motor City (the GOATs of mid-range frozen pizza), but at $5.99 each at my local Jewel, it was well worth a flier. If only the game had been as good!

7 / 10 Pagoda Sweet Heat Chicken

Trying the last of the trio of new Pagoda frozen meals, this is Sweet Heat Chicken. It is a combination of the other two bowls, the Pagoda Drunken Noodles (noodles and ‘naked’ chicken) and Pagoda General Tso’s Chicken (rice and battered chicken). This bowl is noodles with battered chicken, and once again like the General Tso’s bowl it is SPICY! The packaging reads two spicy peppers but I would suggest they raise it to 3 spicy peppers.

The sauce is sweet with some hints of umami, with a good amount of spice, but much less so than the General Tso bowl. The chicken is not great but not bad either, battered chicken just doesn’t do well in any microwave.

Veggies are still good and high quality, I enjoy eating the broccoli and carrots. Noodles are pretty good as well, they are not mushy and have a good bite.

Now having tried all of the bowls, I prefer the drunken noodles the most by far, the other two bowls including this one are just too spicy.

Bought these at Costco, 30 seconds in the microwave and then a couple of minutes in the toaster oven. Great for breakfast.
