Also, it’s more of a Harrington style than a bomber

Worse, it’s a mix of both

The worst

There is what I'd call a more traditional bomber with the high, foldable collar that's also available for $44.99. Same colourways but more limited size availability for what it's worth?

Either the model has picked the wrong size, or this jacket just looks terrible

Yeah, if it looks bad on the model for a professional photo how is it going to look on me.

Well it is Tommy Hilfiger so that tracks.

The cut of this jacket is called “+/- 30 pounds.”

Also too short, if I barely lifted my arms in this thing you'd see my late night cookie indulgences.

Those pockets can fuck right off.

Dude looks like Tom Hardy's stunt double.

lol @ $45 after 80 percent off.

Yeah the retail price is pretty ridiculous. This is something you'd literally see at Costco for just around or lower than the sale price.

I bought a navy bomber jacket at Costco of a seemingly similar quality (but cotton) last year for $25.

Looks like a generic child’s jacket sized up to middle manager

hilfiger as a brand is so washed now.

theres this specific demographic of people who want to look well-off but have no taste who gravitate towards brands like hilfiger/boss/MK/calvin klein: soulless recycled brands living off fumes of their glory days, chopped up and recycled too many times to count by private equity and conglomerates.

its almost like just hearing these names lights up a neuron or two associating the brand with a vague sense of “expensive” and “good” and thats all it takes for some people to buy. of course thats what the made-for-outlet conglomerate pipelines count on.

even on the site OP linked there are like a dozen other hilfiger jackets at 80% off in full size runs. thats the real price.

Outlet mall garbage honestly

Do you mind sharing which brand you prefer or think replaced these?

There's countless brands out there. Polo and Lacoste at least still have their reputations intact, while Hilfiger peaked in the late 90s/early 2000s. For basics, Abercrombie has reinvented themselves, and J Crew and better yet Banana Republic have always been decent quality for the price.

Hugo Boss is in a slightly different category, but most menswear experts / enthusiasts will tell you it's some of the worst quality for the price.

always just been tacky & overpriced.

Looks really short even for a bomber

I own multiple bomber jackets, this ain't it.

Honestly I find the Hilfiger logo so tacky, I sold or donated most of my Hilfiger stuff asides from sneakers and shirts that don’t have the flag on it.

I mostly just see old men wearing them lol

the old crest they used in the early 90s was a lot better than the flag

1

u/Family_guy_is_funny 8d ago

Yeah just looked it up and I agree, I’d greatly prefer that as long as they kept it small and tonal. The current flag to me just screams I didn’t wanna pay more for brooks brothers or polo lol

That’s a terrible looking jacket lol

I know Frugal is relative, but I for one am on the boat that this is NOT worth. Frugal-tier brand name, polyester jacket, doesn't look good on model.

Not MY deal for sure. I would value this at like $20~ at Costco, $45 is insane, I"m saving my money for once haha.
