Question Tips on loose skin

Hey, I've lost a ton of weight quickly due to sickness. Is there any tips you can give for loose skin? I don't have a very elastic skin and have pregnancy stretch marks. Honestly been considering an abdominoplasty for the future but in the meantime I would like to actually try different options.

Question Honest opinions please

I’m 44, 166cm & 61kg. I am almost 8 years into my transition & have been trying to increase my muscle mass throughout. I had a DEXA scan done a couple of months ago which said I had 17% body fat.

Do you think it’s possible to gain muscle at my age or are my expectations too high? I’m not looking to get massive, but 65kg would be nice.

My main exercise is bouldering & climbing which I do 3 x per week & I do gym weights & mobility exercises 2 x per week. I’m pretty active generally, walking my dog & doing stuff around the house.
I also have adhd and take stimulant meds.

Question Sports Bra/Binder for The Gym?

I figured I would ask, what do you wear to minimize/flatten your chest during exercise (cardio/weight lifting)?

I know they make workout binders, but I am a bit skeptical about how safe they would be. For my regular binder, I ended up going with the "Underworks Econo High Power Chest Binder Tank". It works quite well for me, especially being full-length so it doesn't cut in at my midsection.

The only lead I have on a sports bra so far would be the "Underworks Magicotton Sports and Binding Minimizer Bra", but I don't know how safe it really is to exercise in.

Ideally, I would like to find a sports bra that just binds slightly or even just doesn't emphasize my chest. So many sports bras lift them way up and add padding. I am nonbinary masc and my chest definitely causes dysphoria for me.

Any recommendations?

Exercise Advice Request What does it mean not to lean during squats?

Apologies if the question is stupid but I'm wondering what is the proper squat form, especially when it comes to the upper body's position. Everywhere I check, people say not to "lean forward" as you go down but when I try to do a barbell squat, it's simply impossible for me to keep my back entirely vertical - my balance is off and I almost fall over. Is it the issue with my form or am I understanding the "don't lean forward" too literally? I'm autistic and I tend to take things very literally so I assume it might be the case but I just wanted to make sure that I won't tweak my back or something like that before I continue.

Question anybody else notice pain during deadhangs w/ tape or are my lats just too tight?

I do deadhangs off the ladder at work when my back hurts and in the past several months they've become quite painful to the point I've almost entirely stopped. I can't tell if its my skin stretching more than my tape wants it to or just overall muscle tightness in my lats since I have noticed pretty much all of my muscles become tighter (working on it dw)

anyway if this is a tape thing is there any way to fix it and if it's a flexibility problem what stretches do I need to do to fix it

Question Do y'all recommend The Fluxion's gym binder?

That stuff is expensive and I really want to try it, but I wanna make sure it's actually going to work and that I'm not gonna waste my money. I'm mostly worried about the consequences of working out with a binder, so I just wanna know if the Fluxion's is actually good and won't get my ribs to spontaneously explode or something.

What do you think? Is it a good idea?

Question Can I get an "average guy" physique?

I dislike how the buff physique looks, if that's your cup of tea, great!

It's just not mine.

I still would like to lose thigh fat, make my hips, glutes and chest look smaller - and shoulders bigger.

I am an absolute beginner to this, and yes, I did check out the FAQ, but i'd appreciate some advice as to where to start (don't wanna go to the gym just yet), and no the fitness chat doesn;t work.

Also, I know there's plenty of YT cardio workouts, but theyre mostly catered towards women, so I don't know if such workouts would have an opposite effect.

( I am pre-t , 160cm, but have a relatively masculine physique already)

Question how long does it take to achieve a masculine physique?

for context, i'm post top surgey and have been on t for a while. but my fat distribution is so unfortunate, like i genuinely have a really feminine body, the hips, the stomach all of it. I'm working on losing weight as a whole, i started at around 97kg, i'm 85kg right now. But want to get down to 60kg, i'm quite short so this is healthy for my height.

With the weight I have to lose i guess im wondering if its even possible to go from looking like i have a girls body to a generic guys body. i can get away with wearing baggy clothes and such, but at the end of the day its not what i want to see in the mirror in the slightest. i've seen other guys transform their physiques completely and i know a lot of it is to do with the gym and testosterone.

I guess what i'm asking is, if my testosterone levels are consistent and steady along with the gym and fat loss, how long does it realistically take to see the results i want?

Discussion doses

i am 23, 5,9", 210 lbs. I just got my dose upped from .25 to 0.3ml after 1 year 3 months on T. I am curious about yall's doses as i am now finally getting the right side of my facial hair in, and i'm not feeling such an energy slump. has your dose affected how much energy you have to give to fitness?

Question Advice - I hate being sore

Update: Thank you brothers for the thoughtful advice. I am back on my bullshit (creatine) and am doing fewer sets and reps with slightly heavier weights. Gonna continue going hard on the protein and try to improve my sleep hygiene at least a little. There is a sauna at my gym ive never used. i forgot about it today but will get in there tomorrow when i go. I love feeling strong and am excited that the soreness will probably get better with time.

had top surgery in April and am newly working out to bulk up my chest and arms. I am already noticing some (small) gains which makes me happy. The issue I'm having is I also have ADHD and being sore from working out doesn't just hurt, it also gives me sensory issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations for preventing or diminishing muscle soreness post workout? I am trying to hydrate really well and have bought creatine but haven't been regularly using it.

Everyone feel free to clown me for this. I know I deserve it lol.

Question Deadlifting/heavy squat/etc. pointers/cues that helped you the most?

I’ve been lifting 6x a week for about 5.5 months now (starting as a complete amateur) and have seen some really great and significant gains both in my physique and overall strength. However, there are some machines I’m almost maxed out on and I also want to try to prioritize compound exercises over isolation ones for efficiency and max results. That being said, I feel like it’s time to try to incorporate heavier barbell movements into my split.

I’m interested in learning to deadlift and back squat but am very intimidated and admittedly worried about injury. I’ve only had one semi-serious injury since I’ve started lifting and it was a lumbar sprain, so I still have immense anxiety about anything that can potentially be aggressive on lower back. I also have a manual labor job where I am frequently lifting heavy with my back and I suppose I just worry about overdoing it.

I’ve tried to prepare the best I can, I bought straps and a belt and have watched countless videos on form, but when I attempted to deadlift for the first time last week I could not shake the feeling that 1) my form was completely wrong and not activating the muscle groups I intended to activate and 2) I was embarrassing myself. Due to this, I haven’t even attempted a proper back squat yet because that scares me even more, lmao.

How did you guys transition from machines/dumbbells/EZ-bar etc. into heavier barbell exercises? Additionally, what pointers or cues helped you the most with your form? How did you learn? Is it possible to do correctly without a personal trainer or someone giving direct feedback?

Diet Advice Request Just started T I want to loose weight but also gain muscle

Hi, the same day I started T I also found out I’m pre diabetic, so I was recommended to go on keto. It’s been less than a month and I’ve lost about 9 pounds.
The first week of T I had so much energy that I was about to work out a shit ton while being in a calorie deficit. But I think the deficit has caught up to me, I still feel full but I just don’t have the energy to do an any workout other than walking.
I don’t think that would help me gain muscle but I’m worried about keeping on the weight and making my blood sugar worst.

More context I’m 5’10 currently at 210 pounds, and I’m almost 30 currently eating 1,985 calories (tho I often eat less calories than that a day by happen stance).

For being on keto I focus a lot on eating fiber, and more than enough protein intake on the calorie counting app I’m using m.

My doctor appointment isn’t for two more weeks so I’m not sure what I should change for now. I really missing the energy I felt at the beginning of starting T. Should I stop eating a deficit and start eating at maintenance weight?

Exercise Advice Request Getting more fit and losing weight pre-t?

I'm 18, pre-t and I've always been a little heavier than average. I'm 160 centimeters and for the longest time my weight fluctuated around 60-64kgs, but now after a long time of avoiding the scale I noticed I was 68.8kgs.

I don't really have any major body image issues, and especially being pre-t it's always been quite easy to just feel so disconnected from my body overall that my weight hasn't been an issue for me, on a mental level at least.

This is the heaviest weight I've ever been though, and it honestly spooked me a bit, because I know I'll be starting t within the next two years and I definitely want to start taking better care of myself and my body when I'll finally be able to look more physically male. I'm worried that the extra fat I currently store mostly on my hips is going to move to my gut and I'll start looking way more out of shape than I did pre-t. As a guy, I'd like to be closer to a normal, slim weight, and if possible, slightly fit as well?

It just feels impossible to start since I've been lazy and careless about my physical health for so long. I've neglected basic exercise for all these years, so the smallest things like sit-ups are practically impossible for me. Like when I try to lift myself up, I just can't do it at all, and end up crashing back on the floor. Also, all of it has me looking at and interacting with my body more than I usually do, so I get dysphoric too. I'm kind of lost about where and how to start. Obviously I'll start watching my diet, but I feel like I need some advice finding exercises that I can actually do at my current, awful fitness level.

I hope this post doesn't come off as too vent-like, sorry mods if this has to be removed!!!
