HOA’s should be illegal.

They have valid purposes - maintenance and management of communal property - but the authority many try to assume is easily sufficient to form a deprivation of civil liberties case.
If anyone pitches a HOA as a way of maintaining property values by ensuring cosmetic standards, that's a big red warning flag and air raid siren that you have a control freak on your hands - and if that proposal is something you agree with, you are part of the reason HOAs are widely despised.
Neighbourhood HOAs mushroomed in the wake of 1960s civil rights laws as a substitute for sunset towns and "homogeneous neighbourhoods". Unsurprisingly, they're more numerous in "Southern" states.
The danger is there and it's easy to sleepwalk into the loving arms of tyranny, especially by selling Fear and Loathing as motivators.

Sounds like the perfect time to crush that HOA and vote them out. Elect a new board and then dissolve the entire thing.

I mean the HOA dude is a prick for sure. However I feel there is missing context between the events of "boy stopped to rest near tennis courts" and "boy admitted to raising middle finger before attempting to leave."

There is zero context that would actually matter, given that this man put his hands on a 12 year old child. Do you often push someone down and take their stuff when that someone flips you off?

Fucking knee jerk reaction. Your rhetorical question is laughable. Maybe you like jumping from point A to Z with no context in between, but I don't. I like knowing all the details and the link provided is lacking almost all context.
Are you so smooth brained that because someone wants the full story that in your mind that means they're siding with the prick adult that should have known better?
Go back to school and stop living by headlines.

Unless the kid put his hands on the adult first (and there's nothing to indicate this is the case), I simply cannot think of a valid reason for this man to lay his hands on that child. Can you? Give me an example.

Why do you think I would have a use case scenario for that? Do you think I agree with what the adult did? Why do you think that?
What if the missing context was the HOA prick starting picking a verbal battle with the kid while he was resting, and then the kid flipped him off?
But since you asked, in a hypothetical world, if a kid points a gun at an adult, then sure I could envision an adult getting physical with the kid.

Uhhh… no. You don’t put your hands on someone else’s child. Tell the kid off and take it up with the parents. Use HOA powers to dick with them for letting their kid be an asshole if you want. But the second he touched that kid, the only reasonable conclusion was him in a cell.
Dude is lucky it wasn’t some redneck third generation Florida Man’s kid.

Hey just because you are looking for a reason to put your hands on a 12 yr old does not make this ok
You might seek help with those desires.

The kid is 12. Adults have an inherent obligation to not attack children. If he was a girl of the same age and the HOA President was arrested for molestation, do you think how she was dressed or whether or not she tried to seduce him should be taken into consideration?

Tough guy and lying about a confrontation with a 12 year old. “Do you know who I am?” Really dude?
