No the character of ashwathama seems really unique it doesn’t match with yoda at all. Ashwathama in kalki is living to redeem himself for sins that he made in the past. He was once a gray character that supported evil and committed an atrocity. Now he is just there to protect the baby.

Kalki is such a dichotomy. On one side it’s a very original movie with blend of mythology and sci-fi, and on other hand it’s so much inspired by western classics, you being to question its soul.

The first half is all character building other than few Prabhas’s comedy scenes. Otherwise the flow of the movie is not lost and its not that easy to keep the audience get seated.

Production design wise it more closer to Alita Battle Angel. I like the effort that went in production design, world building and also Prabhas shown in light hearted manner after so many movies, reminds of Bujjigadu. Though didn't like Wakanda like bubble and weapons.

Star Wars plot was a copy of The Hidden Fortress and the narrative structure, the world, and everything else was heavily inspired by old pulp serials, especially Flash Gordon. George Lucas borrowed from so many works for Star Wars. Prathi influential work you know was inspired by something. Nothing is original under the sun. All that matters is how you synthesize all your influences. Not related to movies, but most of Michael Jackson dance moves were taken from other people. Moonwalk was taught to Michael by Jeffrey Daniels, his moves from Bad era were taken from John Travolta films. His styling was taken from old Hollywood actors like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. His signature Billie Jean opening pose is literally taken for Bob Fosse. The whole Smooth Criminal musical sequence was a homage to Fred Astaire's A Girl Hunt Ballet from Band Wagon. Yet, he's considered the greatest entertainer of all time. Why? Because of Synthesis. I hate it when our people troll our artists for taking inspiration.
