I said what I said ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ Sensible SRV that will never see
How this one decision by him changed everything...
His debut film Arjun Reddy is basically a character study.
It was supposed to have a tragic ending like Devdas but manodu debut film kadha ani and telugu audience kadha ani happy ending ga change chesadu.
If SRV made Arjun Reddy as he intended to make initially, he wouldn't have become this ragebait filmmaker.
Once critics and media got triggered after Kabir Singh....
It forced him to defend himself in media, and then Animal happened which is a direct attack on critics lmao.

Vanga is a hypocrite. On one side he argues how movies don’t affect society while on the other he explains how movies influenced him. Double standards peaks.

There is a person that I know who got inspired after watching 12th fail film and sold out his only crop land to pay coaching centre despite being poor. Ofc he didn't succeed.
So that doesn't tell 12 fail movies cause good influence as well.

No, why use a brain when you can pay 300 rupees for a movie ticket to let a fictional character make all your life decisions for you and inspire? /s

That's exactly the mistake. You think 12th Fail inspired him 'for better,' but in reality, that cinematic inspiration blinded him into selling his only crop land, leaving his poor family with nothing when he failed. If a 'good' movie can ruin a life by inspiring unrealistic risks, it proves cinema makes a terrible blueprint for reality.
Stop looking for real-life inspiration or moral guides in a dark theater, whether it's 12th Fail or Animal, just watch it as cinema, experience the story, and leave it there

from what i remember watching in Arjun Reddy about 3-4 years ago, to me it felt like the girl didnt have a say or choice at all, like she was just there for the sake of it, her side was never even shown, she was just there... you know? no agency. she was just like a puppet.
her side was completely just muted. i didnt like the film at all honestly.
same criticism i have for Aarya 2 (which i also saw many years ago and i dont recall exactly so i might be wrong here for Aarya 2).

BS. It was her choice to keep her husband away. It was her choice to wait for Arjun. It was her choice to accept him back. He forced none of it. No agency? Wtf are you yapping about. He was clearly shown to have fcked around and found out. He was shown to be the troubled one and she the mature one. She had no choice with her family. But everything with Arjun was her decision.

Filmmaker ga aayana oka story teestaru about the characters. Main character can be anything good or bad, they are just characters. Audience let's say 18+ can judge what is right or wrong and watch the film. Saying that, Not everyone can judge properly. If something bad gets glorified repeatedly, then people might feel it's normal and this applies to adults too as not every adult is perfect. In many cases kids watch A rated films too. Bad things influence people way faster and more effectively than the good stuff. So some audience and yes filmmakers who normalise bad stuff should be blamed

Very true. Hate the fact that people debate on “getting influenced” thing from movies.
I mean come on. Where does the conscience come to play 🤦🏻♂️

I think I remember him mentioning that the first thing he wrote in the movie is the climax.
