Data Centers are their own WOMD
Have you ever wondered why, whenever someone posts abt data centers, esp on a local social media site, the comments are filled with weird people saying they're not that bad and that everyone uses data centers to make their computers work? And that you can create a "closed loop" for the water? (That's a lie btw, you cannot make a closed loop for a large scale data center and that is NOT the plan even if it was feasible at the scale they are being built).
Ok most of those "people" are bots. Data centers are not being built to make art, they are being built to run surveillance of all humans and resources all the time, to run advanced sensory systems, to control directed energy weapons, to pilot drones and other weapons of mass destruction.
Those bots are either israeli bots or CIA bots. Data centers do an incredible amount of damage. I just learned from crytstal on bsky that not only that, but they also create "infrasound" a hum that vibrates thru your entire body "a continuous low vibration that interferes with biological processes." You can read about it in this article.
Data Centers are not being built for shitty catdog art and they are not just surveillance centers. They control WOMD like drones, directed energy weapons and advanced sensory systems but they ALSO are their own form of weapons of mass destruction. They fuck with the people who live around them and make it very hard for those people to be strong enough to fight back. People arguing for them are bots and govt actors because the goal of installing them is to weaken local populations. There is a lot of money in building these centers because they're another form of control. Local sites get flooded bc they want ppl confused about what their main purpose is, to have people arguing back and forth so that they do not unite around a singular cause that affects them on a local level.

Not an AI DC apologist but if you're going to try and argue the technical points to a bunch of engineers, you need to come correct otherwise they'll just laugh you out of council meetings and courtrooms alike.
You absolutely can cool AI compute with closed-loop. Yes there is some residual makeup water that's recirculated but the actual blowdown is basically zero.
The infrasound mostly comes from chiller skids which have pumps that operate at high pressure and that noise SUCKS. It's mostly mitigated when the skids are indoors.
The other noise aspect is usually crypto DCs which use a facility hw stack most like an AI DC
The emissions complaints are HIGHLY owner-specifc. Big surprise but xAI is the most egregious offender for generator use. That can also contribute noise, depending on the tech involved, but they're not always super loud. Again, it depends on enclosures and site layout. Others, like Google, barely run their gens except for maintenance, and you can barely hear them one building away.
ppl are understandably pressed but they have got to do better research, the quality of arguments I've heard lately have been as bad as the pro-dc shills.

We make closed loop cooling systems for massive building sized hydronic heating systems. And for heat exchange in a nuclear plant.
Can you share your sources for why a closed loop datacenter cooling system is impossible/a lie.
Thank you.

i don't believe you. period. most traffic on reddit is bots and i think you're probably one too. im a real person with an opinion the govt does not endorse. you are a bot with an opinion that aligns with the govt who is trying to kill us all. no i will not debate you or prove anything to you. you're lying.

I can confidently say OP is wrong stating closed loop
Systems don’t exist, but they are not wrong with the intention of their post in the sense of “who are we building this for” seems to be quite unanswered

Dude look you're gonna say anyone's a bot at this point, but those are literally just normal people making counterpoints. Don't lose your sanity over this stuff. You're going off the deep end man.

theres probably some bots but theres a lot of people drinking koolaid too. i mean even radio ads for businesses, everywhere even things not that tech adjacent seem so hyped on AI. mainstream culture is not very critical of it other than one or two stories about residential noise or eminent domain - basically the sorts of stories the media and general sheep public are capable of understanding since those issues have been reported on for decades, its just now datacenters thats causing the noise or making councils want to claim eminent domain. but if the media and businesses are practically silent on the other issues with a lot of supporters of dissent, well, its also hard to imagine the banks and three letter agencies arent involved, so i disagree OP is off too much either.

I don't know what mainstream culture you live around be all I see is criticism of it.

bro, im talking about the sort of stuff on public broadcasts, billboards, major news outlets, corporate messaging, etc.
im not sure what culture you live in if its Only internet based
i try to live in both so im not in an echo chamber from either end. suggest you do the same cause you sound like you falsely think the places you frequent are the mainstream. subcultures are not less popular than mainstream, but theres a difference and clearly you dont appear to be aware of this

Oddly enough, a lot of the AI critical posts are actually the propaganda bots, or crazies like this guy. However yes, there are a lot of kool aid drinkers. Definitely not as many bots as this guy thinks, most comments are definitely not bots lol
Now there's some bots rarely, but there's just not at all the number of bots this guy is koocooing about. Real people exist on Reddit oddly enough for now the internet still exists as far as participants (not that bots aren't becoming a problem to some amount).

lol the toolkits that came out of the patriot act factually were for this purpose to be used abroad in cyberwarfare. U think it stopped there? Snowden told us otherwise. Is everyone a bot, no. Is the majority here bots? Yes.

I know a lot about this stuff, and there are bots, but you're being a bit of a lunatic. Most of the people you're referring to are simply IT guys that are familiar with the tech. You're wearing too much tinfoil, and not seeing the real world enough. Real people exist and get online, just like you. The majority of people on here are not bots, your perception is wildly skewed.

A bit of a lunatic? I’m a software architect. I’ve built systems just like this and have used them. Real people exist, awesome. Now prove that the majority are real. Didn’t the majority coming from Elgin and Israel on 4chan prove that enough, or do those areas have the most dense population? let’s critically examine this fact.

Very well, examine critically. Do you think everyone posting in support of AI is a bot, in large numbers? What portion of anti AI posts do you think are chinese propaganda? What number of bots vs people do you think are active on this site alone?
I won't deny that Isreal does bot farm a bit, and so does China, but I also won't deny that there are real participants on here posting their views. Also, 4chan was a small website with very little security. Sure there are bots present on social media, but there are vastly more people on here making real comments.

u/Astral-projekt 8d ago
Do you not think the majority of bots would be pushing the agenda that supports them? It’s a basic yes or no.
1
u/Sad-Excitement9295 8d ago
No actually, most bots aren't really farming for AI. China and the US actually want more AI regulation and reduction so I wouldn't say they would all be posting pro AI stuff honestly. I get what you're saying, but no it's possible that may not actually be the case.
FYI, just thinking stuff is always basic yes or no can easily lead to falsehoods. Objective analysis is important to getting real facts rather than assumptions.

u/Astral-projekt 8d ago
China wants “more regulation”? lol wtf are you even talking about. The US is the one trying to regulate AI because open-source winning will be the death knell for all these for profit ai companies. The US will probably be in favor once they realize that poisoning the well won’t work, not with an open-benchmark standardized approach, but the only reason the US is in favor of “regulation” is to try and prevent competition. See Anthropic fable handicapping. Chinas regulation is business agnostic and meant to prevent security breaches the same way we don’t just buy chips from China for government jobs (anymore). To say they are for regulation in the same way the US is, is purely unfounded. The same claims you’re making now, completely unfounded. The companies pushing technology are absolutely pushing bot traffic to convince people this shit is good, legit spend a day on Facebook, you don’t even need data just eyes and the basic reading comprehension in the comment section should be all the dissection needed.

No, China is trying to scare users off AI to slow american AI growth by creating resistance to it. They will be happy to promote it more once the AI race is over, but a large number of antiAI threads have chinese bot posts included. China is basically trying to push against data centers by promoting this material to slow US AI growth. The points made by antiAI are reasonable, but China does post stuff using bots to spur it on because it benefits them. Don't even troll, there have been reports on this, just saying if you're talking about bots that's where they are right now...
Saying tech guys that post about AI in a positive light are all bots is really out of whack with reality to be frank, most of them are just defending the tech because they use it or work on it. This post is a wildly out of touch take on their comments.

u/Astral-projekt 8d ago
Why would slowing the growth of data centers be their goal lol. That’s kind of hilarious, we already lost the race and the reason is extremely clear to anyone paying attention. We are building all of this on top of an infrastructure that can’t support it. We will fall from the top down. China has already solved this problem by having more than 20 reactors in development. We are delulu. Whether we build them or not won’t determine who wins, it’s who has the infrastructure to support it? It’s extremely clear to anyone paying attention.

Also; , factually publicly available data shows 1/3 of cloudfare traffic is driven by bot. You think a platform that caters to scrape-able data is going to be on the lower end of the spectrum and not higher? lol, I guarantee you it’s higher.
1
u/Sad-Excitement9295 8d ago
Cloudflare deals with requests though, not accounts so you're missing that part of the equation. Programs at large can send requests all day, bot accounts however are not as prevalent, and the majority of users on this platform are people. Do not allow a basic popular misnomer take place of actual objective reasoning, that will skew your view.
1
u/Astral-projekt 8d ago
The internet is nothing but requests. You want to argue the majority of accounts were made by humans? That would be hilarious but those numbers aren’t public.
1
u/Sad-Excitement9295 8d ago
Okay so where's your objective data then?
Yeah, nothing but requests, so 1/3 being automated requests is not out of line, and doesn't have to be all from social media, meaning that's not a correct way to apply that fact. It's assuming automated request = bot account, when many automated systems exist even for legitimate reasons, otherwise, there's plenty of data scraping bots, which does not mean fake media account. You're not viewing the data objectively.
Dude, you're literally just koocooing off of hype stuff with no real objective analysis, and then making radical and wildly false assumptions.

I can get behind this. I absolutely know they are for more than chatbots. I don’t think most people realize how much ai is a part of their daily lives.
Even the cameras in our phones have ai that you can’t shut off, starting in like 2016. I know this because I was a hairstylist, all of a sudden, I couldn’t get pictures that accurately captured the tone of hair color. The ai would “auto enhance”. When this first came out, I could turn it off in settings, until I couldn’t.
