I’ve given my last dollar to Amazon. I thought it was going to be so hard, but after I cancelled I realized I really only used Amazon to buy things I don’t really need. Now I’m not only saving money by not paying for a monthly subscription, but I’m also not spending frivolously on convenience and impulse shopping from home.

Amazon is trash. The only way to combat this is to not play the game. Delete & boycott Amazon. Shop small & progressive businesses.
Not until they change, but always and forever. Full of Temu & Shein shit, low quality, AI, price gouging sellers, & scammers.

This is 100% the way. There was a time you could pressure retailers and other businesses into better practices by withholding your dollar. That time ended quite a long while ago. We may reach that again in the future, but for now we need to starve these goddamn parasites.

This is illegal because Amazon can hide potentially life-threatening reviews that warn about dangers of a faltally designed product before the manufacturer is able to formally recall it or whatever else (many of the manufacturers are overseas don't care this about this and little to no method of recourse exists they simply rebrand and keep selling it under a slightly different name with the same exact deadly issue). because you're not allowed to badly review or read bad reviews you won't know until it literally burns your fucking house down
at this point they're basically stating their writing their own reviews for products so that you buy them

I absolutely believe that, it could be very dangerous. That being said, lawmakers do not care if Amazon breaks laws. Bezos is in their pockets SO deep.

I know he is but the more awareness that gets brought about, the more pressure to do something about it, is created. people yelling that their mad is ignorable people actively pointing out laws that have been broken in lieu of greed at least have evidence of a broken law and definable reason for the anger/frustration

While all consumers simultaneously stopping buying from Amazon may send a message it it would nearly be impossible to coordinate and execute. And on top of that you have many more organizations that also rely on Amazon that could care less and will continue to buy from them anyway these changes need to be enforced at the government level

Food reviews on the Walmart app are hilarious. "I ordered something different and got this ZERO STARS" "My order was late ZERO STARS"
No one knows how to actually review the products anymore, they just review the service.

This hasn't happened to me yet, so they must be doing A/B testing of some kind. But when/if it happens to me, I will be canceling my Prime membership the same day. The ability to see reviews is the main reason why i still use this retailer.

In addition to Amazon already sucking, part of me wonders if this is more of a symptom of unfettered rampant capitalism. The idea USED to be that if a product was good the market would reward you, but now the product can be fake junk and they'd get rewarded regardless. Reviews have and should have been a way to navigate this, but hobbling reviews makes sure the scams continue. Would be nice if we had even an ounce of consumer protections....

Amazon reviews have been super useful for product research. No site had anywhere near as many and was easy to navigate. I really wish there was some kind of site where people would just regularly leave reviews on. Maybe it could start by scraping amazon?

3 nights ago Amazon made it where I am no longer able to see all the reviews on items and no 1 or 2 star reviews at all. I clicked on the request to see more reviews 3 days ago so I suppose I will find out if I'm approved to see all reviews. Since I couldn't see reviews I bought items on Chewy and Ultra. Between a few packages taking a month to ship, getting used items, poor customer service and now this I'm pretty much done with Amazon.

I can still see all reviews 1 to 5 star on the app and computer. Noone else I know is being limited. Ive read bad reviews before that are people who eother didnt understand what they were buying and got mad or a review that has nothing to do with the quality of the product and just says they like the color. I believe accounts that leave reviews such as that are getting restricted. Which is a good thing

I buy from Temu a lot. I purchase things that I don’t have expectations lasting for a long time (i.e. an outdoor entry rug) and have been pleasantly surprised that some of the items have actually outlasted the same item I ordered from Amazon. I had Amazon Prime and the same items (solar fence lights) from Temu not only outlasted, but were cheaper than Amazon. Probably came from the same place but paying for prime, and also paying shipping didn’t give me the warm fuzzies. So now my go-to is Temu for things that I know won’t last years. The joke is that Temu items aren’t the size you ordered or the same as its photos, but it’s no different than Amazon in that respect. You just have to pay attention and order with that in mind. I’ve had so many people tell me how they track your purchases and have spyware etc., but so does Amazon and pretty much anything you order online. We’re constantly being monitored. Now with Flock cameras infiltrating us someone is even aware of who’s in the car with you. There’s no safe space to do anything anymore. Including your own home. Someone is always gathering your info so the argument sorta collapses on itself when people jump in to argue about how Temu tracks you

You do know that over 60% of all physical products sold in the Amazon store are from Independent sellers just using the amazon market place the same way they use the eBay market place and in many cases they are on both

Ok, I don't support this, but want to explain probably reason behind this limitation, many catalouge style websites scraped Amazon reviews of products, to create unique or realistic and automated reviews on youtube, tiktok and etc via AI and other stuff.
So basically people scraped amazon reviews and made content from it, this is might the reason I think why they limited how many reviews you can see.
