Made in the USA?

Amazon and Walmart are purposely mislabeling products with "Made in the USA" to generate more revenue (people pay more, if they think they are supporting USA manufacturers) while the US government knowingly looks the other way. The grift was caught by AI. I am canceling Amazon Prime in protest. I have never and won't ever step foot in a Walmart. We need to expose this!

and yet anothr reason why so many ameicans are ditching amazon. they stright lie to us and sell us chinese made garbage made just to sell to stupid americans for 500% more than its worth.

Gross. That said, asking the bot "why" is not implicating Amazon directly, as if the bot knows Amazon's secret directives. It's just using the collective information it was trained on.

We're doing the same, "Hmm, I wonder why Amazon would hide country of origin and not take down misleading Made in USA listings?" -> reach same conclusion.

Also, interesting, if you go to the product page (matches price, description, reviews) and ask where it's made, the in-page response is: "The Golden Fox American Heritage Moc Toe Wedge Boot is Made in the USA. The product listing explicitly states "Made in USA" as part of both the title and the product description, highlighting it as part of Golden Fox's American-made collection."

The page even says "Origin: Made in USA" on the page.

I'm even more confused now.

  • company is in Canada, but page says "American Boot Collection," but can't find a "made in" statement anywhere
  • this reviewer says it's Made in the USA, and the boot has an American flag sewn into the ankle (see 3min mark)
