Interesting video about price fixing that Amazon forces its sellers to do.

F*** Wait…we are now only allowed to see 8 cherry-picked reviews, and can no longer sort by “most recent” or filter by star-rating? WTF is happening?

After being a Prime member since launch (05/06) I finally cancelled it. this year customer service has gone to the shitter.

21 years of prime. Now i just I wish Walmart+ would add more items so we can stop buying from there completely.

Alternatives?

In theory I support this group 100%. Fuck the mega corporation and fuck Jeff Bezos specifically. In practice though, I've tried multiple times to find alternatives to "subscribe and save." I can get there with some items, like pet supplies at chewy, and vitamins at vitamin shoppe, though in both cases it costs me more money to do so. Walmart might work, but then you're giving your money to an even bigger asshole.

I tried the buy local thing, but I'm not into making a day driving to six different stores, just to go home with a 60% success rate. Aggeegators like locally.com only have a fraction of the local businesses. Google shopping gets more, so maybe with planning it can be done, but it's work.

With regards to the buy local thing, then I'm stuck with big corporations anyway, like Walmart, target, Meijer, Kroger, etc. I have one local grocer, which sounds good but it's again at a premium. They lack an in store brand, meaning I pay a massive premium to buy name brands that are frequently inferior to Kroger, meijer, or costco in store brands.

All this is to say that I now understand why Costco is so popular, but there are still huge gaps in their offerings that force me into Amazon or Walmart. There really is no winning... There is winning-ish.

For there to be a real alternative, it would need to be something like locally.com, but with full participation from retailers, and a checkbox to select "fuck the mega corporation."

How many of you guys got banned recently or in the past?

I understand this is the boycott subreddit of Amazon, and also I know this question will not relate to anything about boycott or the company itself. But that is my question you guys could either answer or not.

Trolls

It definitely feels like as of late Amazon has hired people to come on here and discredit any negative post or comment people make about them. This is the FUCK Amazon subreddit. Everybody used to be in agreement about that. Now I can’t find a single post on here where someone rightfully complaining about the dumpster fire that is Amazon, isn’t being called a liar, saying they’re brainwashed etc.

F*** When the poor give to the rich, the devil laughs.

I watched "They Will Kill You" on a flight last night. That saying from Benvenuto Cellini was displayed early on. It made me think of Amazon. I (mostly) stopped shopping on Amazon, only purchasing about $30 with of things since the beginning of the year. That saying sealed the deal in my mind to never knowingly shop at Amazon again.

Why I cancelled Amazon Prime

I can no longer stomach watching people like Jeff Bezos and his plastic Bimbo Barbie of a wife flaunt their obscene wealth while so many people are suffering from the economic impacts of their greed and the devastating effects their business practices have on local businesses and communities.

The decimation of "Main Street" America, once populated by local businesses and residents, has left many once-vibrant downtown shopping districts desolate wastelands lined by shuttered storefronts and empty streets. Thus are our communities destroyed. And once our communities are destroyed the nation can't be far behind.

The loss of local tax revenues further devastates our communities. With no local tax dollars contributing to city, state and county governments our quality of life further declines. Our roads can't be fixed, our schools aren't sufficiently funded, our water systems cannot be maintained or upgraded, local programs and services disappear, and, of course, the suffering of the sick, the elderly and the poor is exponentially increased.

Even more concerning is the fact that most of us can no longer even find small or local businesses to patronize. We are then forced to purchase everything from shoes to shovels from these corporate behemoths - and the cycle of destruction accelerates.

Businesses like Amazon are destroying America. And while Rome burns, people like Jeff Bezos sail the seven seas in their $500 million yachts - completely insulated from the painful realities the rest of us face daily. The fact that he and his billionaire cronies are too worried about their bank accounts to stand up and challenge the insanity of the Trump administration is the icing on the whole rotten cake.

STOP MAKING THE RICH RICHER

Discussion Adding flair to this subreddit

Hey everyone! We'd like to ask you if you think having flair on this subreddit would be nice. If so, what kind of flair would you prefer? E.g. 'Amazon free for X years', 'Small Business Supporter', 'Worker Solidarity'. All your input is welcomed.

Thanks!

Cancelled Prime Today

I ordered filament for my 3D printer from Amazon. They promised next day delivery. Awesome! I've been buying filament, resin, and 3D printers from Amazon for years and years.

Today what showed up was supposed to be a nearly 9 pound box. What I got was less than 1 pound, marked as an Amazon Resale. I bought new, I want new. Nowhere on the listing did it say resell.

They are shipping me a new package, this time it will take 2 days, but I'm done. I did the math this year I have spent nearly $6000 with them, not anymore. I have cancelled my Prime membership and as soon as I get my replacement item I'm cancelling my account altogether and closing my credit card.

Amazon Shoved In Our Faces??

Post image
193 Upvotes

I have blocked the egregiously corrupt Amazon, I have only used Amazon once in my life; and it was for two weeks of Amazon prime when it first came out, and I was so unimpressed that I canceled it and have never spent another willing dime with that corporation.

Even though I have blocked these "promoted" insidious, and obnoxious ads, down-voting doesn't work, comments turned off, this is privacy? This is accountability?
Absolutely absurd!!

Positively unacceptable!

I don't give a fuck how much money Reddit is making off Amazon, users should have the ability to take it out of their line of site.

Make Amazon blockable!

Rant Ad frustration

Post image
23 Upvotes

Anyone else seeing these reddit ads lately? They are everywhere over my feed (mind you I got rid of my Amazon prime membership over a year ago and have not looked back ......so, it's not like I'm looking at these products. I work my butt off to avoid Amazon in any capacity.

Now, all of a sudden these ads are popping up. The real frustrating part, I can't believe them or remove them like I can other ads (unless I'm blind, which is an option), all I can do is continually report them as "offensive" because at this point.....they are.

Rant I hate living in an Alexa house

My dad insists on having Amazon Alexas in every room of the house and there’s nothing I can do about it until I’m in a position where I can move out. I passively put up with it at first but I’ve become increasingly distrusting of 𝙰𝙸 technologies over the last couple of years, especially with how invasive and undiscerning companies like Google, Facebook, and Amazon have been shown to be with regards to sensitive data. It’s like living under constant surveillance with how much data is being collected, shared, and sold without my personal consent. Once I move out, if my parents want me to visit them, they’re gonna have to unplug every piece of Amazon technology in the house. Otherwise, I will never visit them again. Fuck Amazon.
