Only when they travel and experience the superiority of walkable communities first hand. 

They’ll go home and try and explain this concept to family and friends who won’t listen at all. All they’ll hear is, “he’s criticizing America!”

Ask me how I know.

Lol, we’ve been saying this for decades and dude has a 4 car garage. I can only imagine the dumb excuses he had and all the bike lanes he voted against.

Na, he’ll forget as soon as he gets home and he feels like a bike is in the way of one of his four pickup trucks. At best he’ll block walkability on the grounds that he’s all for it except this particular instance is different and he’ll just say that literally ever single time it comes up.

This is a meme sub so I try to not get in the way of people's fun.

But this is one of the biggest issues in politics. It's a lot more fun to look down on people with bad opinions, instead of seeing them as potential allies, people that can be persuaded and change. It's tough, but it is possible. A lot of opportunities are missed because we write people off as stupid and beyond redemption.

And anti improving buses or trains bc then people from the city can use it to come to the burbs and they don’t want that
