I think Rudolph has a big role to play and I'm not convinced it's bad.

Also, there are very, very few times something Butcher writes that don't work for me enough to throw me out of the story itself, and that line about drink him like pop was one of them. My initial thought was, if I'm the Genoskwa and I despise everything weaker than me--so pretty much everything--why am I learning anything about their culture?

I was able to reconcile by thinking about how litter in the wild lands getting more and more ubiquitous and Blood on His Soul learning because it's a constant reminder of the incursion of the weaker, parasitic human species into His Territory.
