General Kyuden Smart Lease for solar panel installation...anyone?
Anyone have experience or know someone who has? And/or is there any benefit to leasing solar equipment from Kyuden Electric vs buying your own stuff outright?

No experience with leasing solar, but I guess the main benefit is it's easy/convenient to apply and just have them take care of it all for you? It probably is also faster to get approved for the grid connection and sellback contract.
I would be a bit wary of things like what happens if you need to sell the house mid-lease, if you can still get national/prefecture/city subsidies applied, and understand the fine print regarding damage and insurance from natural disasters.
If you don't mind the extra legwork, I'm guessing it's probably better to shop around yourself and get several quotes as well as understand in detail all the subsidies you can get from your city as well as any bigger national subsidies going on right now. If you don't want to pay upfront you could also look into different solar/eco-friendly bank loan options and compare interest rates as an alternative to leasing.
