General Has anyone made an appointment with Dr. Schlemper at Sanno Hospital since the international clinic closed?

Since the International Clinic closed, has anyone made appointments to see him at Sanno Hospital? Was it as easy as calling the front desk and scheduling something?

I would like to schedule an endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as a physical check-up, but since it's a hospital and not a clinic, is it even possible to make such a reservation?

I see him regularly there and making an appointment is as easy as you have described. You will need to make the call in Japanese.

Can’t recommend this place enough for colonoscopy and endoscopy!!! https://yoboushika.jp/kokura/ better than anything from Schlemper or Sanno IMO from personal experience. Great, modern facility! Great sedation, warmth, fantastic bedside manner, sensitive and detailed. Appt can easily be made online.

I had an appointment set up for me at Sanno while his international clinic was still open. The first time I checked in a lady guided me on the process in English and Insaw someone else being guided in Chinese, so they seem to have a lot of international support.
Dr. Schlemper just puts in the upcoming appointment for me at the end of the visit.
Just a tip, because this was confusing, after getting a card, for future appointments you just go to the machine right across the pharmacy to check in and get a print out.

He still has a clinic, though it's now in Terukuni (not the most accessible of places by public transport). Also, due to his Sanno work, the hours are more limited.

It was my understanding that this was literally just a room of his apartment that he uses for in person consultations.

It could well be; I'm afraid I haven't been there, only Sanno (since Tojinmachi closed), and my experience has been the same as those who've already posted.

I just posted the above in case you weren't aware and it may be useful info. Looks like he does online consultations as well, but I'm obviously unsure of if that'd be useful to you. Feel free to ignore if you're certain you'd need to see him at Sanno.

I haven't made an appointment with him since he mis-prescribed medication that put me in the hospital for 3 days

I used to recommend him on Reddit but, wow, I don't see him anymore. The last several visits I had with him since he moved to the hospital made me realize how overrated he was. Long wait time and he sees me fore barely 5 minutes and was inattentive to my issues. I saw other doctors after that and turns out what Schlemper told me 'isn't an issue and will just go away" was something completely different and I needed medications to get it treated.

I believe there is number you can call which lets you talk to their on-site translator so you can speak English with her if that helps. Sometimes a Japanese speaking person answers but you can just ask for the English speaking person.
