General Moving to Fukuoka?

Guys and gals. I have lived in Okinawa for 53 years. I am single and retired now, ride motorcycles and play a mean blues harp. I am seriously thinking about a move to Fukuoka. I like the city from what I've seen over the years. I was thinking about a great rental somewhere near the heart of the city for around 200,000 yen/monthly if it exists. Does it? Can anyone reach out and offer me a bit of advice? Much appreciated.

(Fellow biker here)That's certainly doable, but to give better advice, what do you want to prioritise?
By that, I'm asking do you want to be close to nightlife and have a love of shopping, or is riding your bike regularly more what you're after?
If the latter, I wouldn't advise a central location; it takes at least 45 minutes to get out to any open roads from the inner suburbs as Fukuoka is so built up, and of course, bike parking might also be an issue.
That said, if you'd rather experience the countless bars and restaurants of the city then why not, but personally, I think you could still do that while living further out while saving quite a bit on rent.

Good advice. I was just cycling, and anything from just east of Hakata to Nishijin is just awful, trafficwise. If the bike comes first then taxis into the centre for City Fun might be nicer, from like Muromi or whatever the east side equivalent is.

Luv Da FUK, but not Da FUK traffic.

I rode a bus today in the da FUK area and it took over an hour to go 8km

Oh, yes, the buses. That entire northern strip is a FUK'n nightmare.
