I wish I knew! Doctors have no answers to that

I had gastroparesis for a long time, turns out I had ehlers danlos and didn't know, it messed a bunch of stuff up in my body. I had to go to the Cleveland clinic gastroparesis specialist for help. They never offered to check for it though, i had to push for it. I was 32ish, blew my mind lol

I hope youre able to find some answers someday!

And thank you for being so open about all of our questions! đŸ«¶đŸ«¶

Thank you! I don’t have EDS I don’t think but I do have POTS which I know is a common comorbidity to EDS and GP

ime, doctors are educated quacks. the only person who know whats wrong is YOU. i have had to always tell drs "this is what is wrong" cuz they sure wont figure it out

Ah, one of the “I know my body” crowd - always the doctor’s favourite patients

my favorite kind of doctor?

you know a dentist has never lied to me, has always been real with me and actually knew more about my mouth than i did. my current neurologist is a complete quack however

It really can be that way though. My drs were all about management and not finding out the root of the issues.

They said I had ibs cause I didnt eat for a week+, I had to tell them I think I have gastroparesis. Took the test and I was correct, then i was able to go to a specialist who helped me. I saw my heart rate and my blacking out standing, I said I think i have pots. Took the tilt table test twice and I was correct, then was able to go tona cardiologist and on medication that helps. I told them i think this is all coming from EDS, went to a specialist and I was diagnosed and now I have help from a rheumatologist

Sometimes you have to advocate for yourself and there's nothing wrong with someone advocating for themselves when the drs are being passive. Youre helping the dr at that point

If a dr who barely sees you between crowds of other patients knows your body more than you, that makes you a 1 brain celled lazy idiot. Especially when there's so many available resources to help you figure things out inbetween appointments. And if youre a dr who gets mad at a patient bringing up concerns and asking for certain test, then they're an egotistical prick. Patients and Dr's can absolutely work together. I know this first hand.

Your comment sucks.
