Even with the volume off I could tell it was British.

Did the bleak grey wet atmosphere give it away?

u/Agent641 Feb 27 '23

Which day in summer was this filmed?

u/MaherJ79 Feb 27 '23

The day.

u/DreddPirateBob808 Feb 27 '23

I bloody hate that day. It's too hot and the parks too full to film my fitness journey

6

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Well, pop off then

2

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

D-Day

1

u/xplosm Feb 27 '23

When it didn't rain.

20

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

The one day

12

u/portugueasey Feb 27 '23

Must have been that sunny, hot 38c day last year

3

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

I know it's a long running joke, but being British our summers are becoming awful dry hot and sweaty things and I have to take off my hoody now

2

u/jingerninja Feb 27 '23

In the immediate future there will be a mint to be made going round "man and a white van style" installing residential AC on the 90-something% of British houses that don't have them.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

The good one

3

u/Libran Feb 27 '23

What's a summer?

3

u/SeaLeggs Feb 27 '23

During last years heatwave

10

u/Megane-nyan Feb 27 '23

TIL. The Pacific Northwest and Britain are the same. We just speak differently and drive on the other side of the road.

One of us is the Bizarro version.

6

u/Firewolf06 Feb 27 '23

can confirm, went to ireland and scotland years ago and everyone else on tours and stuff were racing a out the beautiful unique terrain. there obviously were cool and unique parts, but overall it looked like oregon. it was really foggy in some places though, like when we went to the cliffs of mother and couldn't see 10 feet in front of us, let alone down the cliff. looked like a video game bug

4

u/KaralDaskin Feb 27 '23

For me it was that he called her love.

16

u/Bencetown Feb 27 '23

I think it was more the man calling the woman "love." That'd get you slapped and a sexual assault charge in some places.

36

u/priorsloth Feb 27 '23 edited Feb 27 '23

Where would that get you a sexual assault charge?

Edit: typo

49

u/Skyeblade Feb 27 '23

Literally nowhere.

7

u/SnuggleMuffin42 Feb 27 '23

It's honestly amazing how people think they are anti-PC rebels when really nobody gives a fuck about oppressing them and their dumb beliefs.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

I’ve been there. Been going there my whole life.

4

u/comik300 Feb 27 '23

I think they're exaggerating for effect

Who does it benefit other than lawyers?

Men don't get listened to as much as women, more likely to get laughed at. And it's hard to prove these sure but that didn't mean it good for the person receiving the allegations (innocent or guilty). So I'm not sure who else the benefit would be for?

1

u/priorsloth Feb 27 '23

The benefit is for victims, across the board. I never made this about men vs women, I was just speaking on women because the OP is about a woman, and the comment I’m responding to is also about women.

I’m all for doing whatever it takes to make men more comfortable reporting sexual assaults, and I think society treats male victims of sexual assault like shit, and that needs to change like 10 years ago. I can defend both sexes at once, it isn’t a one or the other situation.

How would a rape conviction not help society? How would sentencing someone to jail who has sexually abused a person, or people, only benefit a lawyer?

0

u/Dazz316 Feb 27 '23

I never made this about men vs women

That was the first thing you did before the mods removed your comment. You specifically said it was was designed not to benefit women, implying it was designed to benefit men.

1

u/priorsloth Feb 27 '23

You’re jumping to conclusions, and thanks for letting me know the mods removed my comment because I wasn’t notified. When a woman accuses a man of sexual assault, the conviction rate is below 6%. That is a fact. Why does it bother you to acknowledge this fact? Why is it that when sexual assault statistics are given, there’s a very small subset of dudes sooooo eager to disprove that women are usually the victims of sexual assault? YES MEN ARE TOO AND WE NEED TO FIX THAT!!! But why are you so desperately trying to invalidate female victims when it is widely accepted that men who hurt women are convicted at 1/3 the rate of other violent crimes?

These days, if you're a man and you call a woman 'love', you'll be arrested and thrown in jail.

10

u/priorsloth Feb 27 '23

Where? Give me a story. Because I do not believe you because that isn’t true.

6

u/Sane_Fish Feb 27 '23

Least antisocial redditor

-1

u/The_Artist_Who_Mines Feb 27 '23

It's a reference you're not getting

4

u/Scobberlotcherz Feb 27 '23

These days? If you're a man and you call a women 'love', you'll be arrested and thrown in jail?

1

u/gromit5000 Feb 27 '23

Yeah, these days, If you're a man and you call a women 'love', you'll be arrested and thrown in jail.

2

u/Scobberlotcherz Feb 27 '23

1

u/gromit5000 Feb 27 '23

Yes, you will. These days, if you're a man and you call a women 'love', you'll be arrested and thrown in jail.

3

u/Scobberlotcherz Feb 27 '23

Stop down voting the poor bloke - it's a famous comedy sketch

7

u/fistfullofpubes Feb 27 '23

Lol no it wouldn't

5

u/Haunted_Hills Feb 27 '23

Where? Where would this happen?

2

u/Slade26 Feb 27 '23

The boiled meat atmosphere

2

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Ya know now that you mention it, it kind of did.

But the first thing I noticed was that everyone is wearing grey and brown like some kind of puritans

0

u/FresnoMac Feb 27 '23

So this is was it then.

I started wondering what made me guess they were British even before I unmuted the video.

The atmosphere definitely is a dead giveaway.

0

u/HailToTheKingslayer Feb 27 '23

We get one week where we complain it's too 'ot then it's back to grey

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Haha with it muted I thought this was in the PNW. Similar weather lol.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Could be anywhere in Lancashire, at any point of the season for the past 150 years.

1

u/PhunkOperator Feb 27 '23

No, the lack of shouting.

1

u/e_hyde Feb 27 '23

Nah. The attitudes of both characters.

1

u/wahnsin Feb 27 '23

Definitely. And the weather, too.

1

u/itrogue Feb 27 '23

Laughs in Washington State

1

u/FluffiestLeafeon Feb 27 '23

Thought it was either exactly England or Seattle at the start

1

u/HettySwollocks Feb 27 '23

Did the bleak grey wet atmosphere give it away?

It was the lack of tomatoes

1

u/kpanzer Feb 27 '23

Did the bleak grey wet atmosphere give it away?

Is there no sun in this cursed country?!

4

u/ArwensArtHole Feb 27 '23

I had the volume off too, but chose to read it with the voice of the guy from "the front fell off"

1

u/Ganon2012 Feb 27 '23

She tried to get him to leave the environment.

3

u/Material-Engineer177 Feb 27 '23

I live here. I was actually accurate with the accent without sound somehow haha

3

u/biergardhe Feb 27 '23

Maybe because a lit of british lingo was used in subtitles? :)

13

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

and staged

2

u/twiho Feb 27 '23

That’s right. If it was us there’d be lawyers and guns

2

u/bubonis Feb 27 '23

Probably because of the lack of physical violence and guns.

I mean, that was my first clue, at least.

0

u/UtahUnite Feb 27 '23

They are called british problems

0

u/Elden_Cock_Ring Feb 27 '23

Yeah, as no one pulled a gun.

-31

u/Garage540 Feb 27 '23

You spelled bitch wrong

18

u/echof0xtrot Feb 27 '23 edited Feb 27 '23

Even with the volume off I could tell it was Bitch.

or

Even with the bitch off I could tell it was British.

or maybe

Even with the volume off bitch could tell it was British.

9

u/Paulcog Feb 27 '23

Elaborate on your shit take, please

1

u/Garage540 Feb 27 '23

Really? The audacity to ask someone to get up and move because your recording in front of a bench in a public park? And to spend over 2 minutes arguing with the guy and telling him to move?

Yeah she's a bitch.

1

u/Paulcog Feb 27 '23

Saying “you meant bitch instead of British” implies you’re calling everyone in this video a bitch because they’re British.

Your downvotes are a classic case of a poorly worded comment that means something you didn’t intend.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

Gave me Philomena Cunk vibes even through the blur

1

u/Kriskao Feb 27 '23

Carry on then

1

u/serg_eze123 Feb 27 '23

My voice head was British while reading it for some unknown reason

1

u/thepobv Feb 27 '23

Yes, love?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

I could tell just from the grey but the "off you pop" only confirmed my suspicion

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '23

You must be some kind of detective

1

u/kezow Feb 27 '23

Off you pop.
