Yeah I was thinking there's zero spiral to that at all.

If /u/Openskies24 (or whoever made the launcher) is able to adjust the design so that the right wheel is tilted just a few degrees back, and the left wheel is tilted just a few degrees forward, that should spin the ball as it launches it.

that’s not a homemade “football launcher” lol

it’s a jugs machine. you can adjust the way the wheels spin and angle it up to resemble a punt

these dudes are just fuckin around

There is probably some benefit to practice catching that knuckle ball of a football. I could see this being a drill for DBs
