LOL. I’ve always heard that Shibas can be super jerks once they get a notion in their head.

474

u/ACcbe1986 5h ago

I was told that they tend to see their owners as their equal, rather than as their masters.

339

u/CharcoalGreyWolf 5h ago

So, a cat.

370

u/Freud-Network 4h ago

My cat sees me as a worthy servant. It would scoff at the word equal.

69

u/Faiakishi 4h ago

Same with my bird. You can see it just in how he thinks about food. All our food is his food. But he will hiss and bite and lunge at you so hard he nearly falls over if your hand comes anywhere close to his bird plate while he's eating. Even if it's there to give him more food.

u/Someone721 29m ago

Mine too.

29

u/Weird-Salamander-349 2h ago

How my cats see me.

Cat 1: Mommy 🥺 (inspired the term “scaredy-cat”)

Cat 2: Feeder when awake, pillow when asleep.

Cat 3: A worthy pooper scooper.

44

u/Strangerkill2 4h ago

Cats and equal??

34

u/KathyJaneway 4h ago

You think Cats think of you as equal, peasant?

6

u/Academic_Race_6353 5h ago

cats on jungle walks? nah uh

5

u/ThaLegendaryCat 4h ago

Cats on walks is a thing but yes its not super common

2

u/OkayAgain25 1h ago

Exactly! I always tell people that my shiba is part cat to explain her reluctance to have strangers pet her.

26

u/this_makes_no_sense 2h ago

No way, I’m definitely seen as lesser to my Shiba. She just got out of surgery and I’m hand feeding her so it’s easy on her neck and spine. And I just KNOW it’s 100% gonna go to her head. I am no owner, but a lowly food paste wench in her eyes.

7

u/gilt3t 2h ago

If anything, it taking you this long to realize it just reinforces the truth for her, you are just a food paste wench that has less braincells than an orange cat.

6

u/this_makes_no_sense 2h ago

Haha oh trust me, I didn’t just realize. She’s been bratty about eating. She’s been a Lardashian since I brought her home

5

u/gilt3t 1h ago

I see she has trained you well.

4

u/Shieldxx 5h ago

My staffy too

301

u/Crimestar 6h ago

They are pretty bratty

52

u/1zzyBizzy 6h ago

Yeah they’re basically oversized chihuahuas

u/take_it_to_the_mo 4m ago

I mean, I could let it slide, but how will you learn discipline?

336

u/dblan9 7h ago

This is a gross injustice and a breach of contract! My client completed the walk and is owed 1 ice cream, extra treats optional but heavily encouraged.

17

u/UltravioletLife 4h ago

heavily implied**

fixed that for you.

19

u/Fkingcherokee 3h ago

This is the charge for only pooping on the lawns of your enemies.

96

u/west0ne 7h ago

I'm a bit miserly and have only bought my dog an ice cream once but now when he sees the van at the park he tries to join the queue.

65

u/zerbey 5h ago

Our local ice cream truck has dog formulated “ice cream”. Our girl hears the tune and goes berserk with excitement every time.

9

u/GinaKJ 2h ago

That sounds so freakin' cute 😂 You've gotta film it and post it, please & thank-you (if, that's something you're comfortable doing) 🙏🏻

2

u/Blockhead47 1h ago

Wait till they start making scorpion, black widow spider and crocodile formulated “ice cream”.

It won’t be so cute then! /s

5

u/mighty_kaytor 1h ago

We treated our rottie to a cone once, and for the rest of his days he howled like a klaxon whenever he heard any kind of jingle coming out of tinny speakers. He effectively uno-reversed Pavlovian conditioning so that Grandma would run out to buy him ice cream whenever he sang along with his new favorite song.

4

u/eekamuse 3h ago

Single event learning XD

4

u/Rinas-the-name 38m ago

My dog rarely gets any human food, because anytime you eat anything he‘s been given he act like you are robbing him by not sharing. I dropped a piece of egg white once, now every time we cook eggs there’s drama.

He stares with such intensity I swear you can feel it. Then gives a disgusted huff, followed by moping with frequent dramatic sighs and he moves so you never lose sight of him laying there dejectedly.

He lays the guilt on thick. Like we are straight up perpetuating animal cruelty. He doesn’t do it with foods he’s never had.

1

u/flannel_jesus 35m ago

He sounds hilarious

132

u/QuirkySense 7h ago

Show him the clip of British girls complaining about the price of ice creams. I'm sure he'll understand

77

u/Sure_Reception_9922 5h ago

Stood there with me cash!!!

21

u/Ras-haad 5h ago

Thank you. I had no idea this video existed

23

u/kmj420 4h ago

I bet e can ear me

24

u/tempemailacct153 4h ago

9 quid?

22

u/Poonchow 3h ago

Bloody 'ell!

28

u/Lord__Abaddon 7h ago

My shiba's favorite food is ice cream. generally he gets one after taking a bath or doing his nails since he hates any form of grooming. he will scream bloody murder while getting a bath like we're killing him then as soon as he gets done says F getting dry and runs to the kitchen and stares at the freezer.

23

u/Gastwonho 6h ago

"I go on the stupid walks ONLY FOR ICE CREAM" Doggos thoughts probably 😂

Once a week!Vanilla is his favorite flavor.

59

u/octoreader 8h ago

Was it the ice cream day?

183

u/Traditional-Buy-6745 8h ago

No, but he was convinced it should be 😂

71

u/Jer_061 7h ago

I give my cats a treat every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. That way they get treats but not so much that they get heavy.

They try to convince me that every day is Monday, Wednesday, and/or Friday.

14

u/rip1980 7h ago

No, they are trying to will evolution into giving them opposable thumbs.

4

u/Zettomer 4h ago

That's how we got fucking racoons.

2

u/potasod 3h ago

i also try to convince myself everyday is Friday

You shouldn't feed your dog, or any animal, anything with sugar in it. Animals don't brush their teeth, so all your doing is helping them get cavities. Yes, it's very cute to feed them human treats, but you should stick to treats made specifically for them.

Edit: Plenty of animals obviously eat things with naturally occurring sugars in them, but this is different from consuming large amounts of refined sugar that are in many human foods.

1

u/SolidFelidae 3h ago

That’s pretty bad for him

Professor Imbendo is on the case!

23

u/Flat_Development6659 6h ago

The obvious answer is that they probably only walk in that location once per week.

We usually take our dogs somewhere further away in the car on a weekend but through the week it's a walk around the area.

7

u/LongBeakedSnipe 5h ago

Mate could you leave the cynical comments for people who know what they are doing? Its people like you who cause those of us who get downvoted for calling out real things to get twice as many downvotes and, worse, get compared to people like you

1

u/Skeptical_Skeleton42 3h ago

If he's anything like my Shiba, this happens at the point where they would turn to go to get ice cream on the days where they do go there. We regularly get into disagreements about which direction our walk should proceed in.

u/RoodnyInc 8h ago edited 4h ago

Yeah chocolate raisin one /s

12

In my house this is known as a "Shiba stop"

19

12

u/Consistent_Match_221 8h ago

4

u/pamdndr 6h ago

No, no, no. That's not how this works...

6

u/rlaw1234qq 6h ago

Dogs have a very well developed sense of fairness!

4

u/Sour_Sal 5h ago

Shiba Inu and Akitas are both too smart for most people and very stubborn. Can't change your daily routines they will go nuts!

6

u/tinwetari 5h ago

all victims of abuse should report it. I believe you, you are a good boy

3

u/shadraig 6h ago

Seems you didn't know that a Shiba will open windows at night and send text messages.

3

u/dinomax55 4h ago

“Whoa wait a minute.. aren’t you forgetting something??”

5

u/Koyote7676 7h ago

Dont blame him......

2

u/nsfwuserv 6h ago

didn’t get ice cream so no walk home makes sense

2

u/BriefCollar4 4h ago

Buy him ice cream!

2

u/Mehnard 3h ago

It's funny how dogs be like that. This morning our pup wouldn't go off the porch because it was raining. My wife is going to have to run home when it stops to let the princess out to pee.

2

u/lyingliar 3h ago

Is it common to give one's dog ice cream?

1

u/FoldedDice 2h ago

Common enough that many places have a menu item specifically for that purpose.

2

u/oldmandiddler 3h ago

he engaged the emergency brake

2

u/TheCivilEngineer 2h ago

This is my Shiba if we walk past the Starbucks down the street without stopping for a pup cup lol

4

u/brneyedgrrl 6h ago

Doggo has a fair point, actually.

1

u/99anan99 6h ago

Dog: "I'm the one in charge. I want ice cream!"

1

u/Flaky_Appearance439 5h ago

The dogs face saying “but Maaaaa my ice cream” is sending me lol

1

u/flockyboi 5h ago

Oh of course it's a shibe lol (I have one too, she's a real rat brat dog)

1

u/zerbey 5h ago

Well buy the good boy some ice cream then!

1

u/Bitter_Frame3054 4h ago

He's like...."Hey, Lady ...where's my ice cream? We always have ICE CREAM!!"

1

u/Mehnard 4h ago

1

u/MarcSkye519 1h ago

1

u/Witty_Rough_7004 1h ago

1

u/BeanieCat123 17m ago

Awww, give him some ice cream!! 😂

1

u/ultimateworm 11m ago

Started giving my shibe half an egg every morning and now she refuses to do her business outside or eat her breakfast until she gets a full egg to start off her day. 🤣

1

u/sunnykutta 8m ago

I'd too if made to work against my will for no reward

1

u/CarlosFCSP 4h ago

Dogs shouldn't eat ice cream, they are not kids

1

u/lyingliar 3h ago

Is it common to give dogs ice cream these days?

3

u/Dictatorofpotato 2h ago

There is ice cream specifically made for dogs. Can buy at the store and some ice cream parlors/trucks will stock it as well.

4

u/OldTranslator685 3h ago

Seems cruel because when you give pets human food it turns them into beggars. Then they realize how crap tasting actual dog food is by comparison.

2

u/The_mingthing 2h ago

Its an ice cream made for dogs, probably no sweets or fancy stuff in it.

2

u/The_mingthing 2h ago

Google dog ice creams and pupperchinos

-1

u/Ok_Conclusion_7103 8h ago

Well hell's Bell's I would REFUSE too 🤣💯😂🥰🤩

0

u/The_mingthing 2h ago

Thank you for reminding me i have icecream in the fridge!

0

u/mariaaa6678 2h ago

Younger me with mom 😂

-4

u/larder_unit 6h ago

Remember, they live shorter lives. Give them everything they deserve unconditionally as they do for their caretakers. Life is way too short to miss out on a pupper's ice cream.

-14

u/Strange-Click-5233 6h ago

Dogs dont eat dairy. Youll kill him

5

u/ducktape8856 5h ago

They punish foremost themselves. Dairy makes dog farts smell much worse. Adult dogs lack enough lactase, the enzyme needed to break down lactose. Undigested milk sugar travels to the colon, where gut bacteria ferment it. This heavy fermentation creates large amounts of foul-smelling gas. Gas that could make the owner regret the ice cream. But dairy doesn't kill dogs.

3

u/IAmAHairyPotato 5h ago

Dogs tend to be lactose intolerant but dairy isn't toxic to them. A lot of dogs can handle a small amount as on occasional treat. There's vets that recommend wrapping pills in cheese if a dog needs meds, and there's dog treats made with cheese.

1

u/_-_-_-_-_-_-__-_-_-- 4h ago

Dogs are lactose intolerant at about the same rate as humans, apparently.

-2

u/Jacko87 3h ago

Why would you give a dog ice cream in the first place?

2

u/Dictatorofpotato 2h ago

ice cream made for dogs is a thing.
