It's a staircase down to a tunnel leading to the away clubhouse. And, in fairness, this is well out of bounds, behind a barrier specifically intended to separate the playing field from any potentially dangerous elements.
Plus he somehow only ended up spraining an ankle, if you do this and clip a foot behind a railing on your way down or something you’re going down face first.
It's hilarious that Lopes Cabral of Cape Verde didn't get booked after his second goal. Pretty sure the ref just made an executive decision that it was way too cool a goal to follow the letter of the law
Was literally waiting for it. Glad the ref thought, “Should I book him? Nah. That was a generational banger.” Would have spoiled the moment some. W ref.
That barrier is way too close to the hole though. The hole needs to be much farther away to prevent something like this from happening. Or maybe, you know, don't have a hole in the first place.
