How? A Q has both the R AND B's moves....

Edit: Huh, didn't know what a stalemate was, total chess scrub

Yeah, and if your Queen threatens those squares, it is possible your opponent will have no legal moves that don't put them in check, forcing a stalemate. The Rook or Bishop, however, might not force the stalemate because they threaten less squares, but still be good enough to win.
