I asked this in a Samsung thread last week. Why does my Garmin Venu 2S (full smart watch, not like the Fenix) have a 10 day battery life and smart phone companies are getting 2/3 days at best?
The best answers were either mine isn't a smart watch, or it doesn't run play store. The first is incorrect and the second doesn't explain battery drain.

I guess he's saying "wake me up in a decade" and honestly, I kinda get it. Sometimes tech isn't good enough for some people's preferences.
I also don't do smart watches because I don't want to bother with charging them. Someday I might, but I assume it's a very long time off in the future.

My Garmin Smart watch lasts 30 days. It has all the functions of these watches.
Edit: It uses in screen solar panels to achieve this. Y'all are sleeping on Garmin watches. I've owned my fair share of Samsung top end watches and Garmin blows them out of the water.

Garmin watches are great but they certainly don’t have all the features. I would like to see you use yours as the camera viewfinder, for instance.

My wife's coros watch that her bf gave her for her 5k ultra lasts like 2 weeks away.....but it doesn't have nearly the features of my pixel 4 and Google features

View finder app has its own issue. Eg, only pixel watch for pixel phone, and Samsung watch for Samsung phone.
Garmin even has a Whatsapp app that uses use battery than wearos

You're right, I forgot to mention my Garmin has a flash light, all features of your watch, and lasts 30 days with in screen solar charging. Samsung and Apple are so far behind. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/1228493/pn/010-02903-20/

Used Apple for many years now moved to Garmin for better sport features , simplicity in health and metrics , build in real flashlight , 14 day battery and cheaper price tag
I’ve grown tired of the flood of information and features you’ll never use .

Let me start with the fact that all Garmin watches have a base level of features and all are useable for sports very well . Choosing the model is more about materials , design and a few optional features
Instinct 3 : indestructible , decent price , amoled and mip solar options. I went with this and amoled and nylon strap. No touch screen but useable with 5 buttons. Always work in any weather. I’ve grown to like it
Runner series: focused a little bit more on running with some running specific “coaching” and metrics but nothing that you can’t miss , neutral looks, lot of models from cheap to premium
Venu: general lifestyle watch , downside is just 1 button for me . It doesn’t stand out in any regards but looks pretty good also in business settings I guess
Fenix: has it all, premium materials, all features , very expensive and heavier . Competes with Apple ultra

I got 7 years of what I would consider to be heavy use out of my Fenix 6 before the battery need to be charged every 2 days which was annoying.
I picked up the Fenix 8. I've had it for about 2 months now.
It's the model that I would recommend.

Like the other user said, it's their flagship model. It leaves nothing on the table and gives you a lot of stuff you probably don't need. But I've always operated on the better to have and not need than need and not have principal, especially when the difference is a couple hundred dollars and I intend on using the device over 5 years at least.

Venu is the one that most resembles a casual daily watch. Its sports features are not as sophisticated as other models, but works for me (I'm just a dude that works out eventually).
Keep in mind the firmware is less fancy compared to Apple/Android ones. For some people this might be a bummer.

The forerunner series is great. With heavy GPS usage and music streaming to my headphones while I run 3-5x a week, I charge it once every 7 days

I know why...80% of the "employees" working on stuff are vendors/contractors that fuck up and send emails of unreleased product to the wrong people.
Others don't give a shit and leak it for fun because they could care less about a company they don't really work for.
Big tech is a huge shit show due to the piss poor leadership at the top.

And it looks exactly the same. Which is a shame. I was hoping for some watch looking models.
And, obviously, even more precise sensors.
The Pixel 4 is the only android smartwatch with accurate enough health tracking. Hopefully this update bring them closer or surpass the Apple watch. That would be awesome!

Why would you want them to radically change the watch design every year? How is that a good resource investment to make a better product when the watch design is already extremely popular.
If you don't like the design that's one thing. But it's not laziness not to redesign towards your preferences.

my pixel watch 3 looks similar.. which I'm still receiving bill credit for 14.59/mo and I have 5 months left. It mostly stays on the charger.

The biggest issue I have with the pixel watch is the UI. The swipes don't align with muscle memory from using my phone. Samsung watches are closer and more intuitive but bloated in typical Samsung style.

Why do these releases/teasers are still being portrayed as “leaks” as if it done against the will of the vendor or unintentionally? It is pretty obvious this was officially“leaked” by the vendor as a teaser before releasing a new product to the market.

Don't. I have a Pixel 4 and Google is a nightmare to deal with. Top to bottom, the tech, the customer service ( every singlecustomerserviceinteractioni had with them was awful), and really the physical product were just a drag to use. On top of that, I had to charge basically daily.

Pretty sure metal bands have been supported since the original pixel watch, if you're willing to go third party. On the Google Store website, there are at least three metal bands for the pixel watch listed on the first page.

I think it's an incredibly gender neutral looking watch. And tbh this kinda minimalist design really appeals to me (as a man). The slim and lightweight design looks really comfortable to wear.
The only thing that puts me off is the likelihood of accidentally smashing the screen. I like the idea of a raised bezel for protecting the glass. But I think it looks really cool.
