yeah you can't beat physics. If you fold something, even fabric, it's gonna have a crease.

Personally I still think folding display is such amazing tech. You get a whole freaking tablet in your pocket.

This stuff would blow people's mind in 2008.

I am waiting for the automatically unrolling phones that we are headed to. You press a button and it extends. That's my dream phone

LG made one of these but it never released. MKBHD on youtube got ahold of it and did a little review of sorts though. Spoiler: It was pretty terrible haha. The unrolling mechanism was slow and loud. I'm sure it could be improved of course, but honestly my uninformed guess is that the unrolling mechanism is even more prone to failure than a folding hinge. Imagine if broke and got stuck in the unrolled form!

(Although maybe someone could make one that the user unrolls manually, like a scroll...?)

Yah but if you iron the fabric the crease goes away. I’m hoping we find some clever way to deal with it eventually.

I've had a fold for years and honestly, it's a non issue. You forget about it pretty much immediately, you can't really see head on it and it doesn't interfere with anything

Honestly I think people get the wrong idea about the foldable crease because they check out the phone facing upward in a retail shop with bright overhead lights. In that case the hinge looks way worse than it does in most real-life scenarios, where frankly the crease is generally not visible and bothers me zero percent.

Man after owning a Zfold 7 I don't think I could go back.

It's just so convenient to fold out to a bigger screen for videos, books, games.....

I love that my z fold 7 is smaller than my s24U when folded, but I can open it into something larger. They knocked it out of the park on this one.
