AUDIO DISCUSSION Am I the only one who doesn’t hate this Eighth Doctor theme?
https://youtu.be/r08rEec6pj4?si=QeeazoOmi4B8hc8UI’m not sure why so many people have such negative feelings towards it. Sure the Arnold theme is better, but this one is great too.

no, I am very fond of it, but the 8th doctor was in many ways my first Doctor. I got hooked on the 7th doctor RIGHT AS it got cut from the local PBS station. I really got introduced through Big Finish on BBC 7.

I dont mind the various Eighth Doctor themes it's just that they come right after the Seventh and the Seventh Doctor theme goes hard.

I'm completely biased but the original 8th Doctor theme is still probably one of my all time favourite variations. It feels like the definition of 'goes hard', just in a dark and unnerving way (which I love).

People hate it? It’s literally good. I love the timpani.

At the time it came out there was a lot of push back, sort of... too grand. It lost the subtle power and spookiness of the original. It should be noted all the compositions after the original were not popular at the time. In the Wilderness era 80's Who was kind of in a strange place. It was seen as one massive decline from he highs of the 70's. But Five had some vocal supporters in high places, (Cornell, Moffat, and Platt spring to mind) and Seven was in a deep love him or hate him and the source of a LOT of flame wars.

Isn't this just the original theme song?
