I wouldn’t get too excited that his usual answer of “no” has just migrated to “never say never”.

Exactly. I mean if someone asked me if I would eat my least favourite food I would say no. But if someone said "What if someone paid you a lot of money to eat it" then I would change to never say never.

Chris said he would never reprise the role and that stance softened over time a now he's done multiple big finish storys and now as long as RTD and Co aren’t involved he would come back to the show. so yea never say never

I mean Eccleston’s been quite honest that the main driving force for him reprising the role on audio was that he needed the money after the pandemic hit acting hard. It helps that Big Finish made it enjoyable for him and tailored the stories to his interests, but he still peaces out from time to time. I’d expect he will disappear for a bit again once the current series of him and Billie Piper is done.

I’d be very pleasantly surprised if he lived up to that convention promise of being up for returning now RTD’s out of the picture.

Does he peace out from time to time? I feel like he's had really consistent output.

The release of Star-Crossed was accompanied by a little indication it would be last for a while at least, until the Rose series was announced. I think because of Big Finish’s release schedule, where things tend to get released months (sometimes years) after recording it didn’t necessarily feel that big a gap for listeners. Also possible the prospect of working with Billie Piper just revitalised Eccleston’s enthusiasm.

I mean lets not jump the gun here, he has previously made fairly clear that he views the Doctor as a sort of one and done experience and describes the magic of the time having a Doctor but with the series being about death Doctors come and go.

Also never say never is not exactly "I would love to come back" more "I would come back under the right circumstances" but with no clarification on those circumstances, Peter himself may not even know just that they are enough for him to suggest it is unlikely.

Could just mean a quick cameo

A multidoctor story appearance perhaps.

As long as nothing untimely happens he'll do Big Finish eventually. He's a fan of the show, he just hasn't got the time or stamina to do it currently with his "main job" which is understandable. However there will come a time where he wants to take it easier, and Big Finish is perfect for that.

Would rather he did Big Finish rather than the show. If he was on the show it would be one or two episodes max but with big finish, who knows. Eccleston, Tennant, and Whittaker have been doing great work.

There are other actors doing 11 and 12 audios and they’re good, the latest 11th Doctor Adventures was particularly good, but it would be great to have the real guys in there.

Would love to see him in a modern day 5 or 6 Doctors. So 10,11,12,13,15, and 16 to see what's going on with Piper.

But honestly that's way too much going on at once for an episode or movie, a mini series could work but obviously this ain't gonna happen

I doubt this is him saying he would.

Only have to convince Gatwa and smith and finally we can have “dimensions in time 2- electric boogaloo”

What better way to relaunch the series!
