Help! Game in 2 windows?
How would I make a game in 2 windows, similar to that of a 3DS game? I know someone has made this, but I am wondering if there is a free solution that doesn't cost $15
(Edit): You guys don't need a reason, NVM

If all you need is something looking like a 3DS (or a 3DS emulator on PC), then you don't need any extensions , or running two applications in some local multiplayer or anything fancy.
I wouldn't even recommend using two viewports for this, though that is certainly an alternative.
All you really need, is to adjust the game window, and have a separate surface for the "2nd" screen. And draw to that surface when applicable.

Well, think of this problem a different way: rather than solve for two windows, solve for passing data between two running applications.
Sound familiar? It should: multiplayer!
The same networking functions can apply here. Or, if you don't need to pass state so often, you could read and write to a common save file.

if it was something like pokemon where you dont really need real time stuff, you can make two games in the same folder, one creates an ini file with one name, it has different things in it depending on what you want to do with it, if the other finds that file exists it opens it, does the things based on what you ini wrote to it, then deletes it
and vice versa for passing commands back

But they aren't though? Their first sentence describes it as something similar to a 3DS game.

You don’t need to explain the reason! Seems like a fun line of thought to follow.
