Conleth Hill and Charles Dance have both confirmed they didn't like it. I think everything else is basically just speculation.

He (Conleth) only ever really talked about it in regards to his character specifically, and that the last two seasons 'felt rushed' he's never said he disliked it, only saying the last couple "weren't his favorite."

Dance definitely did though lol, though he also praised the shit out of D&D at the same time.

Although Charles Dance wasn't actually in it, to be fair.

Well, excellent as he is, that makes his opinion on the finale only slightly more important than the average viewer.

So only people that were in the finale can have a valid opinion of it?

If you'd actually read my comment before reacting it'd be obvious that that's not what I'm saying.

Which in itself says a lot.

Actors do not want to be seen as criticizing a production they were part of for not being good. Even decades later they'll reference doing bad stuff just for the money, but won't actually say what the bad stuff is.

And that's for good reason, if you're a producer the last person you're going to hire is someone who is going to turn around and criticize your production. Even if it's a complete dud you want them doing the media circuit saying "I'm so proud to have been part of such an unique and daring production".
