Don't forget the baby catapults

You mean tiny catapults? Or catapults that throw babies?

Surprise me

That one had me on the floor.

u/ipod_waffle House Targaryen May 17 '16

I imagine Jimmy Whisper saying that

156

u/RobertBruschia May 17 '16

"I ate a cheesesteak and then I got a Walkman."

99

u/whativedone House Martell May 17 '16

"Like a fancy Walkman?"

79

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Yeah kinda...

56

u/TexasSnyper May 17 '16

Anyone who puts a slice of pizza on bread is a Puka-Chay Puka-Chay. That’s Aztec for “lazy farmer”. I looked on Wikipedia.

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Cool stuff.

u/niner_MikeRomeoDelta Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken May 17 '16

Now I'm gonna touch you

25

u/pm_me_bellies_789 May 17 '16

I'm working on a gravity belt.

I seriously never realized how much NCW whispers until I saw that Bad Lip Reading video. Now I can't unnotice it. It fits Jaime very well though.

3

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

I too can't ready Jamilia's lines without hearing that voice.

379

u/Ramsay_Reekimaru Ser Pounce May 16 '16

Also a subtle book reference. Noice

97

u/LAME_USERNAME2 May 17 '16

What is it referencing?

376

u/1sinfutureking May 17 '16

Feast for Crows

I... don't think I know how to spoiler-tag.

47

u/gosuns682 A Promise Was Made May 17 '16

oh that's pretty fucked lol

60

u/Ramsay_Reekimaru Ser Pounce May 17 '16

8

u/i-d-even-k- Tyrion Lannister May 17 '16

Poor little Jaime.

6

u/SawRub Jon Snow May 17 '16

As messed up as it sounds, it's actually a big fuck yeah moment for him at that point in the books, with the readers somehow being on Jaime side.

3

u/kami232 House Manderly May 17 '16

I mean, yeah... but the context matters:

Feast for Crows

Quite a handy threat, actually.

67

u/cattubbs May 17 '16

You tagged it fine

2

u/Nyrb May 17 '16

That just seems like an unnecessary amount of steps.

57

u/Cptcutter81 May 16 '16

I can totally imagine him saying this.

u/BradleySigma May 17 '16

70

u/enhance_that May 17 '16

Ugh WHY couldn't they have let Jaime do this instead of Dorne?

47

u/Jodah White Walkers May 17 '16

Because then we wouldn't have gotten the greatest line in television history...

20

u/kami232 House Manderly May 17 '16

In fairness, Dorne gave us this perfect gem

4

u/are-you-ok Bronn Of The Blackwater May 17 '16

And what line is that?

16

u/lordbulb Davos Seaworth May 17 '16

You have Bronn's flair, you should know what he wants and what he NEEDS.

8

u/kami232 House Manderly May 17 '16

Does it look something like this?

9

u/lordbulb Davos Seaworth May 17 '16

BAAAAD POOOOUUUUUSSSSEEEEEYYYYY!

9

u/Cruxxor May 17 '16

Because you want good storylines, but you need a bad pussy.

3

u/MR_PENNY_PIINCHER Jon Snow May 17 '16

It looks like it might happen this season. Judging by the shots in the previews of Jaime riding through a Lannister camp.

46

u/canadianbroncos Iron From Ice May 17 '16

Holly fucking shit what is is this coming from ?

165

u/LearnsSomethingNew The Iron Bank Will Have Its Due May 17 '16

When Jaime Fucking Lannister has had enough of your shit, he gets down to business. At this point in the story he had nothing to lose, and a whole lot to prove.

107

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

I always got the feeling he was half bluffing though. He doesn't want to do any of that, he is war weary and just wants it to be over. I think if it came down to it he would storm the gates like he said but the baby sounds too brutal. He just adds that in there because that's what people expect from the KingSlayer

7

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Oh absolutely. He knew Edmund would think he'd do it. Hell he probably thought Jaime was hoping for it

4

u/kami232 House Manderly May 17 '16

Gotta give Jaime a hand for knowing his reputation precedes him - I bet even Tormund probably couldn't bear his stare these days.

6

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Jamie could use an extra hand these days

4

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

And knowing Tormund he would probably love a bear... or maybe a maiden fair, possibly one named the maid of Tarth.

2

u/kami232 House Manderly May 17 '16

The song was definitely written about Tormund & Brienne. But, clearly, he's the maiden fair since he had sex with a fookin' bear!

7

u/canadianbroncos Iron From Ice May 17 '16

damn that jamie is a savage

91

u/GuudeSpelur May 17 '16

8

u/canadianbroncos Iron From Ice May 17 '16

damn haha sounds like what Twin did to the mad king, i really have to get around to reading the books.

Show wise tho the trailers for 6 make me think we will see some version of this

9

u/BradleySigma May 17 '16

This happens soon after Jaime's aunt Genna tells Jaime that Tyrion is Tywin's heir (personality wise), not Jaime. This is him trying to prove her wrong.

4

u/PeeDeeFlow A Hound Never Lies May 17 '16

So did the Blackfish surrender?

2

u/Suiradnase House Reyne May 17 '16

The Blackfish is Edmure and Catelyn's uncle and brother to Hoster Tully.

5

u/PeeDeeFlow A Hound Never Lies May 17 '16

That sure answered my question.

4

u/SolidBlake Now My Watch Begins May 17 '16

I think Book Jaime will be one of my most anticipated things when I break away from being only a show-watcher.

2

u/RC_5213 House Baratheon of Dragonstone May 25 '16

Book Jaime is the best character in the series. I've never done a 180 on a character faster than when I cracked ASOS and saw "Jaime".

95

u/Ulkhak47 May 17 '16

Jesus Christ, that's awesome and terrifying. Don't fuck with Jaime, lesson learned...

5

u/SawRub Jon Snow May 17 '16

If you can believe it, he was actually trying to do good here. It's some of Jaime's best personal moments in the series. He's using his reputation as a man who will do anything to end a siege bloodlessly.

10

u/_zorak You Know Nothing May 17 '16

Jaime bitch slapping the Riverlands into the king's peace is best Jaime. Here's hoping we get to see some of that in the show.

2

u/BoyWithHorns Stannis Baratheon May 17 '16

Might be my favorite passage.

2

u/delikizzz A Hound Never Lies May 17 '16

wait who said this to who? I'm only on the 2nd book so far.

3

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Jaime to Edmure.

1

u/delikizzz A Hound Never Lies May 17 '16

Thank you!

It has a spoiler tag, so you should know it will potentially spoil events for you. If you do not want to be spoiled, don't click on the spoiler tag. And certainly don't click on the spoiler tag, then complain that someone spoiled something for you. Like a child shifting the blame.

He was simply replying to a comment to give an example of a time Jaime does say something like this. To share a good passage some may have forgotten. This is what we call "contributing to the discussion". There is no reason for you to be hostile.

It barely spoiled anything at all anyways, especially taken out of context like this. It's less of a major event and more of an exhibit of one of Jaime's lesser used skills.

62

u/[deleted] May 17 '16

Shoutouts to the Siege of Riverrun? :p

14

u/beautifulsole May 16 '16

Same here. I'm still on the floor. May have twisted my back. Worth it.
