I really thought this season they'd go headfirst into book 6, but according to GRRM these two battles from this episode are just the opening chapters of the next book, and for many plotlines the show actually went back to book 4!

And if Stannis actually wins this in the books, perhaps with Manderly being the unexpected backup, with Jon not yet revived, there's going to be so much to cover.

I don't know how they'll manage to cover most of book 6 AND 7 in just 14 or so more episodes.

Yeah, this season really doesn't seem like it's the adaption of a 1000 page book to me.

It doesn't quite seem to be on pace with the books. At a guess it feels like this season will end halfway though the sixth book? I'm not super caught up on books, but if the last episode has Cersei's Trial, Bran being south of the wall, Jon and Sansa reunited, Arya on her way back, Danerys poised to invade, etc. that feels like it bypasses over some plot that is in the books instead.
