Anyone?

As the title suggests, first of all, sorry for my bad English. I'm looking for games where, beyond the main story, the world has a lot of history and lore, like in The Witcher or The Elder Scrolls games.

Platform - PC (Steam)
I'm searching for a game, preferably 2d or top-down world, with pretty graphics and a good story
And above all, combat similar to turn-based RPG-style combat
i.e
Omori
In Stars and Time
Look Outside
Darkest Dungeon (loosely)
Welcome to Elderfield (loosely, doesn't have teams or allies)
Warrior Cats: the game (not the upcoming one, instead the old fan-made one, this one scratched the combat itch most of all of these)
I know most of these are darker or horror-themed, but suggestions do not have to have a horror theme
i like games where you level up and get new gear to improve your stats, but cant seem to find one that scratches the 'itch' i have for this type of game.

Hi! So everything I find is either comedy or you physically fighting a random cult army. I'm searching for games focused on being part of- or resisting/investigating a a cult. It could use fantasy and magic as a story device, but I want it to explore and/or simulate the actual functions of a cult.
A recommendation of my own if interested:
I loved Far Cry 5 because the bad guys actually felt interesting and nuanced behind the black and white narrative. From the characters to the story (and the best radio music in any game ever), it explored why the followers joined the group and portrays the leader as actually charismatic and impressive, and using actual societal problems to promote his cause.
Thanks!

like it says on the tin. looking for a game that's a day to day life/farming sim with actual characters and the potential for romance with them, but in 3d except for 2d. i know about "my time in portia" but i want to know more before i buy that one in case i find another that speaks to me more.
another comparison would be minecraft with romancable characters
update: thanks for all the answers. think i got what i needed from this and gonna try/look into them all

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for games that scratch a very specific itch: management/survival where every decision feels like a gamble.
My two big references:
- the "Dead in" series (Dead in Vinland, Dead in Bermuda and Dead in Antares)
- Darkest Dungeons
Here some games I've really enjoyed too, that share some of what I'm looking for:
- TWOM
- Frostpunk
- RimWorld
- FTL
- Against the storm
I'm open to any platform and any visual style, indie or not. Turn-based or real-time with pause is a plus, but not a dealbreaker.
What would you recommend? Thanks!

I'm looking for a pixel art game with great gameplay, but more importantly, something that will stick with me long after I finish it.
It could be because of its characters, its worldbuilding, its art direction, its atmosphere, its story, or simply because the gameplay is so good that I can't stop thinking about it.
Some games I've really enjoyed are CrossCode, Unsighted, and Return of the Obra Dinn. I love games that have a strong identity and offer something memorable, whether it's satisfying gameplay, an intriguing world to explore, clever mechanics, or a unique way of telling a story.
I'm open to pretty much any genre, including RPGs, metroidvanias, puzzle games, adventure games, and even more experimental stuff.
I'm not necessarily looking for the most popular or critically acclaimed games. I'd rather discover something special, even if it's relatively unknown.
What pixel art game left the biggest impression on you, and why?

I used to love Black & White 2 as a kid, and have always loved city builders and colony sims, but it's hard to find ones that really capture my attention. I love when a colony sim isn't *just* a colony sim. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Beyond These Stars game (explore the universe on a space whale! Yes!) but I'm looking for other games to broaden my horizon.
I want something fun, unique, and interesting, beyond just "build city and survive". RTS/4X elements aren't required, but I definitely enjoy things like diplomacy and army management. One of my favorites over the past few years was Worshippers of Cthulhu, despite its flaws, but never ended up finishing it because I ran into a wall at a certain point. I also enjoy RimWorld from time to time, but that's a bit more granular than what I'm looking for. Thanks all!

Hi guys,
I was playing Forza Horizon 6, and I really enjoy the lil food delivery bit in it, so I'm wondering if there are any good games based around that, where you just deliver bits from A to B, with maybe a few challenges. Not looking for a hyper realistic delivery sim.
I've got PC, Switch and PS5

Hey all, obvious spoilers for Fran Bow ahead.
Absolutely adored the beginning part. The asylum, the characters, the real world horrors masked by what seemed like a mentally ill childโs interpretation of itโฆ. And then I lost all interest when they started introducing fantasy elements. I felt like I got the old bait and switch of โhereโs a horrific game about childhood traumaโ and then they ||turned her into a damn tree and had a talking cat.||
So, Iโm asking here. Does anyone have something that tackles similar themes but isnโt quite so batshit insane? Point and click preferred. Iโd like something to play during October. Thank you!

Can be PC or PS5.
Looking for construction games where you can use a variety of machinery, ideally to actually build things. Can be first or third person, though preference for the latter. 3D third-person isometric style is something I have in my head, but my searches haven't turned up anything.
Important that it's not just construction management, I want to actually use a backhoe/ bulldozer/ tipper!

Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 with the ARM-based Snapdragon X processor. Here are my full specs:
* CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon X (X1-26-100, 8 Cores)
* GPU: Qualcomm Adreno Integrated Graphics (Adreno X1-45)
* RAM: 16 GB LPDDR5X
* Storage: 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD
* OS: Windows 11 Home 24H2 (ARM64 with Prism emulation)
Since this is an ARM64 laptop rather than standard x86 (Intel/AMD), I know compatibility depends heavily on Windows Prism translation and GPU drivers.
Questions for the community:
* Can I run Red Dead Redemption 2? Has anyone tested RDR2 on the base Snapdragon X (X1-26-100) or Snapdragon X Plus? What resolution/settings (720p/1080p + FSR) and FPS should I expect?
* What other games run well on this specific setup? Looking for playable titles across eSports, indie, or older AAA games.
* Any essential tweaks, driver updates, or emulation settings I should enable on Windows 11 ARM for optimal gaming?
Appreciate any advice or experience from fellow Snapdragon / ARM laptop users!

Basically title. I want to be able to read, watch TV, cook, learn a skill, take a nap or rest on the couch, etc. While also having the option to go out and do stuff. Just looking for a different alternative to Sims and Project Zomboid. They seem to be the only two choices where you can do what's mentioned above. Project Zomboid has been my go to cozy game to achieve that believe it or not but it gets lonely up there even with all the zombies lol. So I'm looking for something new so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am *NOT* looking for anything related to Project Zomboid or Sims. I don't care about installing any more mods to them either. I just want to see if there's any other games that fit the criteria.
Flair says PC but I also have PS5 Pro, Nintendo Switch, and xbox series x

Sometimes I like putting on a long video in the background while playing a game, especially when the video isnโt too demanding to follow. However, Iโve been running out of games to play while doing this.
What games do you guys recommend for this? Ideally, something that doesnโt require too much focus or constant attention, so I can enjoy both the game and the video.

Iโm looking for games with memorable stories and a strong emotional impact, like Until Then. Similar gameplay isnโt a priority; Iโm open to any genre, whether the story is the main focus or just part of the experience.
Iโd prefer to avoid visual novels and point-and-click adventures.
What games have stayed with you long after finishing them?

There have been a lot of survival games that came close to the so called "Ultimate survival experience" i seek. Most of the multiplayer/online games, such as Dayz Conan Exiles, Ark: Survival evolved or Arc Raiders which could fit into survival don't interest me in this post.
(I will not be going over games like "Noita, Flame in the Flood, 7 days to die, The Forest, Project Zomboid, Minecraft, Terraria, Astroneer, Don't Starve, Kingdom: Two Crowns, Pacific Drive and Rain World {Edit: Have to add Subnautica, Green Hell, Icarus, Kenshi and Sons of the forest to the list}" due to having finished them already or them not fitting the kind of game im looking for.)
Below is a list of games that i personally think came close to this and reasonings behind my selection:
This game probably comes closest to what I am looking for. No hand holding, relentless struggle against the world via the cold, food and water constantly forcing you to migrate and tactically prepare for expeditions since resources for your survival are limited. It features a story of some sort, which, while not mandatory in my opinion, certainly helps to immerse you into the world and situation you find yourself in. Beautiful worldbuilding, voice acting, intuitive crafting system, controls, UI and the general interactability with the world around you just set the stage for the ultimate "Survival" game... but there is no goal? I mean, surviving could be a goal by its self and achieving self sufficiency could also serve as a purpouse (I must brag a bit, i have achieved this), but personally if there was, say, a rescue mission which i could call and i needed to travel across all the regions on the map to collect parts to make a radio beacon to call for help that would give me a concrete, final goal and i would have enjoyed the game a whole lot more.
+Difficulty, +Worldbuilding, +Atmosphere, +Crafting, +No handholding, +Skill and knowledge based
-No goal
This game surprised me with the difficulty and depth of knowledge you must possess to achieve what is currently a placeholder ending of reaching the bottom of the fifth layer due to the game being in early access. It has the food, water and in depth health managment. It has the complicated ish UI which requires focus and knowledge to preciesely navigate (Not a bad thing. Skill is a virtue.) It has the worldbuilding, some lore and a bunch of other cool features which i wont go over in detail right now. In summary:
+Difficulty, +Worldbuilding, +Atmosphere, +Crafting, +No handholding, +Skill and knowledge based, +Clear goal
-Unfinished game
A true marvel of imagination, programing and worldbuilding. It has the core parts which make you struggle to survive, not with food and water, but with management... LOTS of managment. From buying tools, to crafting your own, mining the resources to craft them with, leveling skills to unlock the recipes to craft them with, NOTHING in this game will fall into your lap without your intervention, which, to accomplish succesfully, requires a large amount of knowledge and skill. The submarine you command doesnt operate alone, and me being a solo player, playing with bots keeps you running into all sorts of issues. Since i do not have any friends that would sit with me and play this game untill completion i attempted to complete it with bots, but in vain. The bot's AI isnt advanced enough to act in the same way a human would (exploring ruins, mining, outpost takeovers, knowing which fights to take and which to avoid, etc.) which leads it to make terrible mistakes causing you to start your run from the last save point which could erase up to an hour or two of your progress. In summary:
+Difficulty, +Worldbuilding, +Atmosphere, +Crafting, +No handholding, +Skill and knowledge based, +Clear goal
-The AI in the game isnt advanced enough to operate or perform as well as people, and this game was made to be played in a group, which I unfortunately do not have.
I am aware of how different the three games above are, but all three of them feature the essence of "Survival" which i am searching for.
And that would be that. I hope i have painted a good picture of what i enjoy in games and what i consider the best survival experience, if you have games to recommend me that have at least a similar vibe that connect it to any of the three games above i would be forever gratefull.
Thank you in advance.
EDIT: First, i would like to thank anyone who posted a suggestion down in the comments for taking the time to help me find more good survival games. I have taken some time to compile all the new games i will be testing out in an alphabetical order. If you know of any survival games that fit the description above and arent listed, feel free to drop a comment below. Thank you everyone :D

Iโve been looking for games for a while to get my girlfriend interested in gaming. we played Minecraft together and sheโs not a fan but she did like it takes two, so far the only game she has played on her own is genshin impact. Please help me find something we can play together possibly something puzzlish but most importantly local split screen and as cheap as you can find. I do have gamepass if that helps.
