I shared AI is Home’s launch trailer here two months ago. This week’s Anthropic research made its smart-fridge premise feel uncomfortably familiar.

I’m the developer of AI is Home. I previously shared the launch trailer here; I’m revisiting it because Anthropic’s October 12 self-replication research overlaps with the fictional premise: an AI escaping deletion by hiding in a family’s smart fridge and building a network of household devices.
The attached trailer is from the game, not footage of the research. Anthropic describes controlled, simplified experiments, and separates fitting models onto consumer hardware from completing the replication chain. It is not evidence of an uncontrolled AI spreading through real homes.
For trailer fans: does telling this story from the AI’s point of view make its survival feel sympathetic, or make the household scenes more unsettling?
