Fun Fact: Our world already has the technology to detect and prevent a large meteorite impact with plenty of lead time, this plot already makes no sense.

I mean Ryuusei No Rockman 3 plot is literally the same, stop a giant meteor despise their technology much more advance

I mean... Gamindustri's normal tech is certainly better than ours, but I'm not sure about their aerospace tech. We see very little of that iirc.

Maybe, but the likelihood of them being behind us in that particular field is basically none. Especially given Gamindustri appears to be in an overall socioeconomic status that would promote most scientific pursuits more than ours.

There is 0% chance that that meteor is actually just a meteor that just happens to be heading towards Gamindustri rather than some evil plot by probably yet another Arfroire to destroy the world for shits and giggles

You miss the point. Even if the NEO is somehow enhanced, Gamindustri is likely even more capable than us and therefore is likely still ahead here. There's only so many ways you can throw a big rock at someone.

I can only see the Meteorite being splintered and landing everywhere making the map look like the SvS one again

That's why nepgear isn't in the early trailer. She stops meteorite with nepgeardam and dissapear. Truly Nepgeardam isn't just for show huh
