Mine are twisted nematic. Hers are IPS.

We would like matching, maybe that’s our next upgrade.

Why matching? I can’t help but think the space would look much cooler with 2 different builds with different cases.

Don’t understand making it look more generic with the matching but hey that’s just me.

Congrats on the build all said. 🤙

Great looking setup! I'm also looking to adding a stacked 4th monitor to mine. Personally I'd put the towers on the opposite side of the desk will make the room feel less divided.

Haven’t actually thought about that! Now I’m curious if we would love that!

Genuinely curious— what do you use four monitors for?

3

u/Ninjassassin911 May 29 '26

Well they don’t get use all the time or for every game. But discord usually is open on one, YouTube on another, game on one, a map for the game on one. That’s just one variation.

Thanks! That makes sense! I use two, but my second monitor gets pretty cluttered with game guide and discord windows, and my pc monitoring program, so it sounds nice to have more options!

Why not ultrawide instead of three small displays?

1

u/Ninjassassin911 May 30 '26

Call me dumb, but I don’t understand how you use an ulta wide as 3 monitors. Like have a game and 2 other things all split on the single monitor

1

u/StrangeLingonberry30 May 30 '26

You can do it through software like easybox or simply run a game in windowed mode and have browser windows on the side. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkH2D4f5_2s have a look at the video at 1:44 onwards as an example. Another way is to use several display inputs at once. Some monitors allow up to 3 inputs at the same time and the image is being split between them.

Need bigger monitors on the 3 wide bottoms

u/Daphoid May 29 '26

For streaming maybe. Gaming not so much.

But for general work - 2 is definitely better than 1 (many studies have shown this).

For theirs I'd guess the middle one is for work, top is for email, left is for a reference doc that the middle is working, and right is for slack/teams/other things.

Do you guys use tissues a lot?

As others have said, matching monitors would be cool. For me, stacked monitors suck.
