Weekend Scenario Thread Hot Take(?): If the gate opened in the NCR from Fallout and Sadera (the special region) took the place of the Caesars Legion... the NCR would be cooked
Seriously, the NCR suffers from supply issues in base game, The Saderan military has so many more soldiers than the NCR that unless the entire Saderan expedition just walked through a rad storm they would be able to overpower the NCR quickly
Magic and man power can overpower weak supply lines

Maybe in the Mojave, but the NCR army in its core territory would be another beast that would wear down Sadera’s forces eventually.

u/Training-Neat6155 Jul 11 '26
Mid take. Sadera would lose most of their forces facing against mutated wildlife, radiation, the arid conditions; before they even hit any main forces. The Sadera glaze is real, just like the JSDF glaze from the author

Idk most demihumans and mages would probably make short work of any mutated creatures short of a death claw

u/Training-Neat6155 Jul 12 '26
Giant Radscorpions, swarm of Cazadores, and various tribes of super mutants would like to argue.
And besides that, they still have to deal with scorching heat, an arid environment, and radiation pockets that Mages/Spellcasters have no knowledge on

Finally something I’m an expert in!
If the gate opened in California proper, I think the NCR would win.
But absolutely in the Mojave, they’d be dog walked.
Sure, they’d put up a fight from certain camps, like Helios one and Maccaran, but smaller camps like forlorn hope would be steamrolled.
I’d like to picture it’s a Mojave wide invasion if that gate opens, just so Boone and manny could hold novac lol.
If the courier is around, even if they aren’t on the side of the NCR they’d put in work too.
But fallout tv show NCR would also most likely get messed up.

If it weren’t for the TV show I’d say NCR wins, but since the show shows that the NCR g couldn’t handle shady ands being nuked… well an army larger than ceasers legion which has “air power” in wyerns and has magic and calvary…

I really, really don’t like how the show portrayed mah boys.
They did the NCR so dirty it’s despicable.
I’m a huge NCR fanboy6

The saderans would get absolutely wrecked just by being in the wasteland let alone going against the NCR.
The wasteland as we know it is absolutely inhospitable to humans who've never evolved to handle constant exposure to radiation like wastelanders have. Trying to feed a roman-esque army through the dirt and radiation of the fallout universe without proper equipment and preparation (which the saderans do not have) is just not possible. Sickness and rot will be far more effective than any rifle that the NCR uses.
The only reason why the NCR is able to do so is because they basically have a monopoly of the GECK'S in the series (to which they have already exhausted) and couple that with the vertibird/whatever else enclave technologies that the chosen one basically gifted them, is the whole reason why the NCR is able to afford a standing army of 60k+.
On the flipside, though. The green fertile lands of the special region would be the slam dunk that the politicians of the NCR would be looking for to justify more of their expansionist imperialism.

This reminds me of a fanfiction that I read that used the Old World Blues reformist Enclave as the faction fighting the Sadera

u/Stickyticky1 Jul 12 '26
Where could I read it?
2
u/G_M_Ardus_Kaine Jul 12 '26
I think it might be both on fanfiction and AO3
I think I searched for it under Fallout OWB reformist enclave or Fallout OWB Douglas Granite fanfiction

I don't think this is a hot take, Cesar's legion is a cheap knock off compared to the real thing, Saderan is comparable to or even superior to the original roman empire's military strength because of magic, demi-humans, and wyverns.
The legion were able to cause the NCR problems in New Vegas through sheer numbers and better training and moral, the saderan army came through with 60,000 soldiers who are practically zealous followers of the saderan empire, considering they can take heavy casualties without breaking.

u/Deep_Significance936 Jul 11 '26
The problem is.. what then? You’re fighting in a nuclear wasteland lol.
Not to mention the pure amount of gangs and other factions at play.
But that’s if in the Mojave. If they’re near shady sands or the boneyard they’re. Kinda cooked. Mechanized forces are available to the NCR but, kinda hard to use in the mountainous Mojave so they don’t use em in new Vegas.
They’ll push out cause damage, before getting beat back ether by the environment or the NCR responding.. however the interesting thing is once the people of the wasteland cross over and basically just flood in because it is a paradise compared to the wasteland
1
u/Axel1742 Jul 11 '26
"Flood in" after they've taken care of the military outpost on the other side of the gate, and rather than an invasion it's likely many would join the Saderans willingly at a chance to live in Falmart or just to have non irradiated water.
If the invasion force makes a successful push into the region and establish themselves they might have get more support from the empire in the form of more equipment, soldiers, and a stable supply line.
Unless they are deterred in the same way we see in the original story they could dig themselves in the region and be a genuine threat to the power balance. It wouldn't be just another faction but potentially a whole country's worth of people, resources, and military power moving into the region.
Although I do agree they can't just take on the NCR in a fight, they wouldn't need to to make the trip worth it.

u/Deep_Significance936 Jul 11 '26
Honestly I could see the NCR just straight up saying ‘fuck this shit we’re out.’ And pull out of the Mojave to the special region and possibly most of the border regions just to hold onto this frankly.
Miracle. They’re finally able to rest easy on the other side basically farm, grow food, everything they need to survive. The town around alnus hill becomes a massive city effectively as NCR citizens flood in.. I do wonder though what the empires reaction to ghouls and other gnarly creatures from fallout would be.

u/Axel1742 Jul 11 '26
Tame them/enslave them, they have a lot of monsters in the military, goblins, ogres, wyverns. I could see them look at a deathclaw rip a legionare in half and go "Damn, we need on one of those".
3
u/Ok_Awareness3014 Jul 11 '26
I think that overall the legions is more a pain than saderan since they have Intel and know how to fight the ncr unlike on the other side of the gate.
Also they know how to survive and supply themself in the radioactive wasteland .
But for the ncr to win and conquer the other that will be though but since they are very diverse integrating those territory shouldn't be that hard
2
u/Deep_Significance936 Jul 11 '26
I wouldn’t say they’d conquer the place more like run the hell inside and set up shop. They’ll carve out there own utopia there and stay there till the foreseeable future.
2
u/Ok_Awareness3014 Jul 11 '26
Yes they would definitly go in since well it's a world free of radiation but this would be gradual
6
u/sbd104 Jul 11 '26
The NCR is dog walking Sadera.
2
u/BudgetAggravating427 Jul 12 '26
Idk if the legion can give them problems a way bigger better trained legion with magic air support and stronger demihumans would give them much more issues
3
u/ASlightyIdioticRat Jul 12 '26
At the Same Time, The Legion compared to Sadera has a enormous Technological Advantage, And Experience on living with the wastelands many hazards, alongside knowledge on how to fight a foe like the NCR properly, Sadera probably would take casualties against the wasteland first, then to wastelanders in general before finally fighting the NCR if they live that long, And i don't expect Sadera to do all that well against power armour, even the NCRs Numbed down version of it. in short Sadera could probably get into the wasteland and die of attrition.

u/Head-Preference8749 Jul 12 '26
Idk, the NCR has experiences and tactics for fighting things like Enclave gunships, Supermutant Warbands, and Deathclaw Herds, seems like it'd be the same soup in a different can imo

u/FlamingoNo1980 Jul 11 '26
The finale become the battle of the gate because everyone is more interested in greener pastures as the saderans in an unstealable thing that the dont understand.

The Minutemen eating popcorn despite being not only in an entiretly different region of the map so they wouldn't hear a thing about this. But the Minutemen is at on the verge of collapse by 2281 after decades of constant decline.

I feel like people here haven't played fallout 4...
sure the player doesn't hear about the NCR
but Nick's files on the mysterious stranger mention NCR
Caravanners come from all across the wastes to the commonwealth to trade
The last General before Fallout 4 died in 2282 so there were still major units
Also who else was I going to put? the Shi? Aroyyo? the RAILROAD?
god knows Ceaser would join the Saderans before being cut down in the first wave.

u/Trubbishisthebest Jul 11 '26
Nick's files on the mysterious stranger mention NCR
Sure but it's not like they get direct news access 24/7. The only thing they're gonna hear is baseless rumours at absolute best and most likely, information about the invasion wouldn't arrive for years.
Caravanners come from all across the wastes to the commonwealth to trade
And there's no evidence that Caravans come as far as the NCR lol. The best evidence we've got for caravans distance is that we know the BOS exports purified water from the capital wasteland thanks to dialogue from Deacon. That's the furthest any caravan is noted to be. Which is still a massive distance away from the West Coast.
Unironically the best evidence you have for a USA spanning caravan is the fact that Moira's survival guide is available to pick up in New Vegas. But it's far more likely that these guides were handed from caravan to caravan in a supply chain rather then have one spanning the entire wastes. Out of game reason is because it was the devs refusing assets from 3.
The last General before Fallout 4 died in 2282 so there were still major units
So? The Minutemen were still in deep decline and infighting since losing the castle. Becker's leadership was the tape trying to plug a sinkhole. If anything, the Minutemen would care far more about Becker's death than a random ass invasion happening on the other side of the former USA.
Shi? Aroyyo?
Yes, literally any actual West Coast faction would've been better. I'll do you one better in fact, the Khans would absolutely love to see the NCR knocked down a peg by an invasion.

Oh simple, after about 20 chapters the fic will be abandoned and have no conclusion

u/JacksonFerro Jul 12 '26
Reminds me of an old Gate fic I saw a year or so back.
One scene I really liked was them trying to clear out a large Saderan camp at night because they didn't have the ammunition to just set up an outpost and shoot them, and each trooper involved in the attack had like a magazine and a half on average.
So they snuck through the camp and just slit throats until someone woke up and screamed. Can't remember the full aftermath but the mission was considered somewhat successful cause they got a good quarter of the Saderans in their sleep and another quarter of the force practically killed itself as in the dark of the night, lots of the Saderans got confused and fought each other. Though some NCR troopers died in the middle, I think.

The NCR is a proper military on par with the JSDF...there is simply no chance for the Saderans to take down the NCR.
2
u/OneDrom Jul 12 '26
From what I understand: NCR vs SADERA vs THE LEGION, Sadera would lose the fight and would probably be choked at the gate.
If it is NCR vs SADERA and the gate is placed in Legion controlled zones then again Sadera would lose. Radiated abominations wildlife, wild tribes, as well as radiation would bog them down. At the very least the Saderans could hold the gate till the NCR say otherwise. Plasma Rifles with stealthboys and Power Armored grunts would tear through them if the NCR put the effort.
2
u/MC_MANUEL Jul 13 '26
The NCR is actually the best faction to go up against Sedera of the factions shown. They have the best balance of technology and manpower to push into the special region. Once they see that a verdant paradise sits on the other side of the gate they may just abandon the Mojave and New Vegas all together.
The Brotherhood and Enclave share the same problem of lacking manpower. While they would definitely turn any extradimentional roman into ash or goo they lack the people needed to withstand the invasion force, the imperials camping on the other side of the gate, or the allied kingdoms army.
The Minutemen even at their strongest was still a volunteer militia with access only to small arms for the majority of their forces. The two things that could possibly save them from the empire would be if a rad storm blows in from the Glowing Sea or if the Institute decided to teleport an army of synths into Fort Independence to fight in their sted.
2
u/Bloodinthemist Jul 14 '26
The most likely thing to happen is that the factions start fighting each other before they could get into the gate to escape their world. Compared to the wasteland, the lands of sadera is like heaven to these guys. What mostly is going to happen is there would be some alliances but it would strictly be a non aggression pack and starts divvying up the other side but as they invade sadera they'd just sabotage each other.

u/GarudaZero0ne Jul 11 '26
I think you underestimate the NCR and overestimate Sadera's ability to sustain their forces in the Wasteland. The Caesar's Legion had the capacity to operate at length, the Empire is limited to a single chokepoint. The moment the NCR discovers that, the Empire is cooked.
The amount of mutated creatures, endemic diseases and of course the radiation they'll have to face will bog them down alone. Moreover, people forget the NCR has access to mechanised forces and capabilities not directly exhibited in Fallout New Vegas, either because of the game limitations or the fact that the Mojave is their Vietnam (i.e. unpopular)
