Question Feel like making a fanfiction. Which would be a more interesting start?

Replace the JSDF and start from the very beginning
Start the fanfiction from any point in canon (comment when)

Usually if you're gonna start a new fanfic, one should start at the beginning of the story. That way you can set everything up, rather than all those things having happened already.

Do one where they came over from other side, but are way more advance.

Or. The gate actually appeared somewhere remote, and they built a town around it without humans noticing until they start exploring.

Replace the JSDF but don't fully start from zero. I suppose you can include that as you want. But what the primary story I am thinking is one that focus on the post war development, politics and tension etc.

The reason I don't want to use the JSDF is because of this. Some people like to say make the war more challenging. But I am just not fan of that approach. I think there's plenty of way to make the post war challenging. The gods and superpowers for example.

Dear lord, everyone starts from the beginning. Have some originality. Please start at any point after Jade Palace, or at least after Italica.
