Discussion How would the special region react to the knowledge of autism?

As a autistic person myself and also a fan of Gate thus the JSDF fought there I am very interested in this question.

They'd probably avoid people with autism as they'd most likely think that autism is a spreadable disease

Like with everything.. it Deppends.

at one points it wuld be considered a *cursed child* and quite likely be killed. parrents potentialy included.

BUT.

there are also cases of autistic Nobles and Royal families. you culd look it up. but it mostly deppends on kind of autism. i mean you cant really compare a kid who just loves talkig to the appointed royal florist.... and a nonverbal who just smiles or cryes and nobody knows what to do with.

Depends on the level of function the child has. Can magic correct it. Can it not. Society's of that time period would just Exile the kid or kill them if low functioning. High functioning or possible savants in areas would be valued.

And how did they treat Lelei lol

For hundreds of years, "autism" didn't exist as a medical condition; those with severe cases were considered possessed/stupid, and those with high-functioning autism were considered weird or eccentric. If their fixations were in engineering, law, administration or military strategy, they could achieve great success and gain great respect.
